Oct 31, 2011I just came back from a week in Spain and found a very expensive mobile phone bill. My Blackberry Bold had been automatically connecting to internet and downloading my email by phone in roaming mode. I had expected email was only active in a free wireless area but it seems this was not true, it also used phone calls to download mail.
How can I block that without doing something as brutal as removing the SIM card? Other kinds of phones have settings to do that but I haven't found these settings in Blackberry Bold.

Mar 17, 2011I have a Bold 9700. Most call screening apps will block all numbers, allow contact list only, etc .. I need to block all calls but only allow 4 select numbers from my contact list. (I work night shift and I only want to accept calls from my kids, husband, and school).
"iberry blacklist/whitelist" is apparently supposed to do this but I installed the trial, not working properly and then I realized it doesn't support my bb.

Aug 30, 2014I have an iPhone5 (16GB - 5 GB free space available) and iOS 7.1.1. A couple of days back my apps stopped connecting to Internet. Both 3G network and WiFi connections work as google app and chrome browser connect to internet. Everything else doesn't including safari, mail, whatsapp. Notifications for almost every app work.Â
I tried the following:
1. I Restarted almost everything: router, iphone, iphone with both Home and Power switches held together.
2. I tried upgrading to 7.1.2 but I kept getting s/w is unavailable at this time error. I tried removing the downloaded software. Now I get unable to check for update (not connected to internet) error.
3. I connected to PC and upgraded iTunes to latest version, but can't figure out how to make anything, that's not working, work
4. Also, I tried removing apps that I sparingly use.

Any other way?...If I put my already activated micro-sim into my iP4 at the store, what will I be able to do with it on my train back...or will i need to 'register' via iTunes first before i can mess with it?

Oct 28, 2012I have a S2 on UK Vodafone contract even though I am currently living in NZ. My phone is a UK model.UK Vodafone have terminated the Passport service as of 1st November which means I now go on to NZ roaming which at �1.65/NZ$3.30 a minute is somewhat steep - I also pay that amount for the incoming call.I now need to block all incoming calls on my phone so as I am not tempted to answer calls at odd times of the day or night (quite hard when we are 13 hours ahead of UK and totally out of sync with them) and pay extortionate amounts of money BUT I need to leave the phone available to make and receive text messages.It is not as easy as to just get a NZ phone contract as this was my life line with friends and family in UK until my provider pulled the passport service so need to disable the phone I have.how to do this so as I can still send/receive text but NOT receive voice calls on my S2?

From time to time, any of the apps I use (from the official Internet browser, to Foursqure, Opera Mini, Gmail, or any other that need Internet access for that matter) don't even give me the dialogue to chose an Internet connection. I just get a message: Unable to connect to Internet.
I'm pretty sure all my settings are ok, especially because this happens sometimes (from never per day to always per day/session) and there are no rules when it starts working again. Sometimes it needs a few phone restarts, sometimes it just need some time.
So basically, the applications don't try to evoke Internet access. Even if I already have a constant Wi-Fi connection, they still don't see it "or even try to do so by asking".

Oct 15, 2011I have had my BB Storm for approx 18 months now and on and off for the past week or so I have been experiencing some difficulties with different aspects of it. These are:Facebook App - I haven't been getting any notifications come through on my phone and sometimes the newsfeed is a few hours behind. Internet Browser - With the FB app not working I have tried to go to the mobile site which has taken forever to load then comes up "Server Unavailable". I have then tried to go to other websites and have found the same issue.
BB App World - I went to see if there were upgrades available on App World thinking there could be a glitch with the current FB thats available but it comes up " Blackberry App World is having trouble connecting to the Blackberry App World server. Verify your network connections and try again" so I am unable to do anything in app world whatsoever. The top of my phone shows that I have coverage in my current area so I don't know what else I can do to try and verify my network connection.Emails - usually (before approx 2 weeks ago) i would receive instantly but I have been noticing 24 hour+ delays lately.

I downloaded Joiku Hotspot, doesn't work, apparently because my 3G network connection profile is named wrong. I downloaded WhatsApp, again, doesn't work on 3G, only on Wi-Fi. Now, the latest problem is with Fmobi, which I paid for, and guess what happened. It doesn't work. The 3G connection arrows are full and on, so the connection is active. I just don't know what to do. I guess it must be something to do with the network carrier right?
