How do you make the status bar invisible? I saw people doing this by adding an effect in Photoshop to the top of their wallpapers. I can't figure it out. I tried searching and found nothing.
View 24 RepliesI just got my 3GS swapped at Apple and it's at the no sim insert sim for activation. I read Spirit requires an activated phone, can I use Pwnage tool or insert an old sim and Spirit, then through Cydia do the ultrasnow unlock? Which method would you all suggest?

For no apparent reason, the status bar on my homepage is transparent. My phone is not jailbroken. I have tried restarting and putting different wallpapers up to see if it changes, but it does not. To be clear, I don't really mind the look of the transparent bar, but I am concerned that something is going wrong with my phone or there has been some sort of attack on the phone, especially since all of the information I can find about this suggests that the phone has to be jailbroken for the status bar appearance to be changed. I would like to know that I could change it back to the normal status bar if I wanted to.

I am using widgetlocker with dashclock on my lock screen of my 4.3 sense 5.5 device. One thing that's bugging me is that I want to change the status bar so it's transparent on the lock screen. At the moment it's black.

1. Is there any way to make the status/notification bar transparent on my HTC One?
I installed the apex launcher which allows me to hide the status bar entirely but I find that a bit annoying because I like to see the information on my notification bar at all times (i.e. time, connection). I just want the black strip to be transparent.
2. I just found out that there is an update to the software (4.3) and I'm currently on 4.1.2. If I install the update, will everything on my phone reset? Will I lose the layout of my icons with the apex launcher or Sense?
3. I've seen alot of people complain about 4.3 for various bugs. Do Androids receive fixes to such bugs quickly? My concern is that if I do update, I don't want to be on a buggy system for too long.
I want report a bad feature of our Sony with on-screen touch keys.
The navigation bar that contains the soft touch keys remains black in all apps (exception Album and olther Sony's apps). This feels very bad to see, so there is a solution, a mod, an app WITHOUT ROOT to have a transparent or semi-transparent navigation bar?
For example, in Chrome, will be perfect to have transparent navigation bar to see full web full page!

Do I just plug it into itunes and restore then download the new 3.1.3 and new version of redsnow and jail break like i originally did? I have been searching the web with no luck on how to go about updating to 3.1.3 and keeping all my apps. I have made a backup of my phone, and was thinking about clicking update in itunes to 3.1.3 and then running spirit then doing a restore of the backup. Is this the right way i should be doing this?

I immediately noticed an app on the phone called Cydia. I had never seen a jail broken iPhone before but I have heard the name Cydia associated with JBing, but I assumed the cydia app on the display phone was something legit. I asked one of the geniuses if the phones were jailbroken because several of the phones had the cydia app on them. He scoffed and said of course they're not jail broken. Then another genius told me that they were indeed jail broken and proceeded to remove them all from the display.

My phone: 3gs, jailbroken on 3.1.2 with bootrom 5.11.07 using pwnagetool 3.1.4. Itunes is at 9.1.Basically I'm stuck in recovery mode and I can't restore my phone. I get error messages in itunes everytime.
It started when I mistakenly updated itunes to 9.1. My phone wasn't being recognized to sync. So I thought why not erase all content on the phone itself? Stupid me didn't research it and didn't know I wasn't supposed to do that.
After the erase, my phone was in a constant cycle of rebooting (with the pineapple logo) and it wasn't being recognized on itunes. So I put it in recovery mode and tried restoring my custom ipsw and it won't. Tried restoring to factory settings in itunes and it won't.
Is the phone bricked? Is there anything I can do? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've researched for a couple of days and nothing seems to work.

On several occassions, I've heard my iPhone 4S - while locked and set down flat -- make a sound that is similar to coins rattling or a piece of glass breaking. I checked all my alert sounds and no sound like that is even an option. When I pick up the phone and unlock it after, everything is fine and there's no message displaying.

So as I was downloading a new theme for my jailbroken phone it froze. So I reset the phone and now its stuck on apple logo and doesn't change. periodically it will give me a white spiral on the bottom of the apple logo but that is it. Today, I decided to switch to Action Launcher and imported the Google Now Launcher settings. It asked me again, to which Google Launcher was not present. So, I selected stock. Now, the problem is, my status bar remains transparent, which is how I like it, but the navigation bar is black. On all launchers. I tried rebooting, uninstalling and reinstalling Google Now Launcher, uninstalling Action Launcher, but no success. However when I swipe to Google Now from the Google Now launcher, it shows me a transparent navigation bar, but not on the home screen or lockscreen when using Google now launcher. What can I do?
View 5 Replies View RelatedFor at least the last 6 months I've been having a constant problem with making phone calls from my blackberry. Whenever I make a call more 99% of the time I have problems where the person's voice on the other end of the phone is constantly breaking up.or the voice sounds distorted (the only way I can really describe this is that it sounds almost like someone's playing the sound back in slow motion with a lot of inteference noise mixed in). Other times I have attempted to make a phone call and after waiting to hear a ringtone while the screen reads "connecting" for a while, I get the "call failed" message. I would put these problems down to bad signal but when I make the calls my phone always has at least 3 bars of signal. At first I wasn't sure if the problems were from my phone or whether it was from the phones I've been calling, but today I've called 3 different numbers and had exactly thesame problem with it.
