can i change the background on my ipod touch (not wallpaper) without a jailbreak? is there an app that does this? everything i could find said i needed a jailbreak, but i'd rather not do that.
View 4 Repliesi have a brand new iphone 3gs its locked to the voda network in the UK.i have tried my usual method of using pwanage tool to jailbreak and then unlock.I cant do this i think because the phone has never been activated.is it possible to jailbreak and unlock and actviate at the same time ? a new iphone 3gs.i dont have a voda sim card only 02 ones.the phone has the normal "connect to itunes, emergency calls only " message at present. please basic steps, i am no expert at all.please dont slam me, i have tried to use the search facility and looked at the sticky at the top of this thread. but for some reason it deosnt work

It's an iPod, not an iPhone, but I'm using it to learn more about how the iPhone works.
I've got what I think is a second generation iPod (chrome back plate, and no camera).
Version: 4.2.1 (8C148)
Model: MB531LL
I set the "wallpaper" to the same default background as I have in my iPhone - the gray colored background with bubbles all over.
On the iPhone, this works fine.
On the iPad, the background remains black.
Is there a different setting I need to use? I think I've done everything right, and even reset the iPod to "new", but the background behind all my apps is still a solid black color.
Also, I know there's no phone, no camera, and no multitasking, but will this device function pretty much the same as an iPhone 3GS? Will I be able to install the same Wi-Fi utilities such as Skype and Viber?

View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I got the 4S stock with iOS 5.0 (gripes about the Apple-imposed limitations aside,) the phone was fine. Come 5.0.1, I think it was fine as well. When I updated to 5.1, however, it seemed to make touch less responsive and increased the latency. It was much more noticable when trying to utilize pinch to zoom. Often times in the browser or photo viewing, I'd pinch and nothing would happen and I'd have to try a second time or my input would be really delayed. I'm wondering if 1) anyone else noticed this, 2) if it's fixed in the recent release of 5.1.1 and 3) if anything else gets screwed up in the update. Because of this, I'm hesitant to update.
