IPhone :: Syncing Ringtones To 4 Without Erasing It?
Jun 27, 2012
I have been trying to sync a custom ringtone (m4r) on my Iphone4, but Itunes keeps telling me "My Iphone is synced with another Itunes Library." and that it will erase my iphone and the itunes library. My Iphone only has Apps on it. I already have the Apps automatically synced. I don't have Music or Videos on my Iphone4 since I have those synced automatically only to my Ipod. I have the Ringtone file already placed in my Itunes library under TONES. I tried dragging it into my Iphone4 Tones and it won't let me. If I try to check "Sync Tones" and apply, the message about erasing my Iphone comes up every time. I only use one computer & one itunes so I don't know why the message about my Itunes library pops up. My question is should I just sync the Tones even though it says it will erase? I mean what would the syncing erase when I only have apps on the Iphone?
I just updated to iOS 5.1.1 on my iPhone 4. Tried to put in ringtones or "tones" as I guess its now listed, and was given the message: "Are you sure you want to sync tones? All existing songs, movies and TV shows on the iPhone "HP_Owner's iPhone" will be removed."
I couldn't see any other way to get ringtones, so I tried it anyway. The message wasn't lying. I immediately gained a lot of capacity back on the capacity bar from songs, etc. I somehow got out of it and the capacity returned. Do I need to go through it all again and figure out how to install an older iOS?
When I connect my iPhone to my new Macbook, it says it's already synced with another iTunes library. I don't want to erase anything, I just want to have my new Macbook to be where I plug my iPhone in from now on.
to erase my data and sell the phone. It is 4.0.1 jailbreakme.com and Ultrasn0w 1.1-1. Surely there is something on Cydia that will do this. Have searched and the only thing I see is erase all data and rejailbreak. I am worried I will end up upgrading the phone and not be able to jailbreak. Any help?
I've got a jailbroken, unlocked iPhone 3G that I'm selling. how would I go about erasing all the apps, music, data, etc, on it, while still leaving it jailbroken and unlocked?
My iPhone4 Contacts has duplicated contacts "From My Mac" and from "iCloud". This probably happened becasue I was syncing to myMac before iCloud services came on line. How can I erase all the contacts from my mac?
My wife's iphone 4 takes up 6GB of memory. I cannot figure out how to remove these photos because it is not synced to Itunes. I don't want to risk erasing these precious photos completely. However, she cannot update her phone now because all memory is used up.tell me the steps to safely backup and remove the thousand or so pics safely and free up some space?
I upgraded to iPhone 5C and erased my iPhone 4. When looking at turn in old phone for a rebate instructions, they asked if Find My Phone was disabled. I don't know if erasing does this.
how much time iPhone 5 takes to reset, erasing all data? I am worried I have applied this reset and my phone is in loading form (black screen revolving circle) phase from more then a hour.
I have an iPhone 4S running iOS 8.1.1 and iTunes 12.0.1. When I updated iTunes recently to the new version, 12.0.1 it unchecked the Manually Manage Music and Videos option on my iPhone's summary page. I just want to re-enable this feature without having to spend the time re-installing all my music and playlists. Is there a way to enable this feature without erasing my music and videos?
I have converted everything that needs to be converted, and the songs i have chose are in my "Ringtones" section on my iPhone, but when i sync the songs they still do not come up in my phone..? any ideas on what to do
My wife and I share a computer for our itunes accounts. How can we copy our music libraries to each others accounts without erasing the original library? We want to merge our songs.
I'm looking for a way to make my own ringtones (pick song, choose section of song I want, etc.) or a site that has a ton of ringtones ready to DL for free. The ringtones section of crackberry is nice but the quality of some of the songs I want is not good.
I have an HTC one (Sprint) and I have unlocked the bootloader. nothing else is done. I am now trying to sell it and want to erase all my data but when i perform a hard reset or factory reset it enters recovery mode and doesnt wipe it clean... below if the version I have, I dont believe there is a factory image for it out yet...All i want to do is clear my data and be rid of this phone!
The BB had very sensitive data on it so it would be advisable to erase its harddrive. According to one of the threads in Tech Support this can be done but I do not have the slightest idea whom I should contact regarding this matter, and if the remote destruction of the data is possible at all. The device has been bought off a shelf at a shop not through a GSM operator.
I need to find out how to unlock a password without erasing anything on the phone. There are only 4 more attempts left out of 10. This is a blackberry curve. The reason I need to get into this phone is it was my sons and there are messages on it. He can't tell me the password because he passed away and as his mom I need some answers and contacts of his. I took it to verizon and they told me they couldn't do it because if they lost the info they didn't want to be liable.
I imported all my pictures from my iPhone- I'm now wanting to move the pictures to different albums - then erase the main album that was imported without erasing all the pictures.
Having issues performing factory resets? My Nexus 5 seems incapable of completing it. So far I have tried doing a factory reset from the settings menu 4 times. Every single time it locks up on the erasing step. I don't mean it takes a little longer. I have let it sit for almost half an hour and the little android robot sits there taunting me.Every time I have had to manually go into the bootloader and sideload a factory image, which works fine.
My Nexus 5 running Lollipop was constantly crashing so I decided to factory reset. I am stuck on the 'Erasing...' screen, I had a dead Android come up, when I tried to power off an on the 'Erasing...' screen came back.
I am going on holiday tonight and I'd really like it to work, its kinda essential.
I have never booted or flashed as its a bit beyond me and thats the only solutions I can find.
I have recently done a hard factory wipe/reset as well as erased my user data through Motoblur site, but when I turn on the phone it still retains all my screen layout settings, sticky notes and content, contact layouts, shortcuts etc...I would like to have everything reset to blank like the day I bought the phone, is there any way to do this rather than removing everything from the screen one by one?
I had downloaded the new OTA patch about 3 days ago and noticed a lot of battery drain. So I tried to factory reset it and now its just stuck on Erasing with Green Android working. It had, I guess crashed, with the red triangle and I had to hard reset the phone which is now back at Erasing.
I have a Blackberry Pearl 8100, it's started erasing my messages and call logs. When it starts doing it, it will delete messages before I even have a chance to recieve them, or read them. It will also freeze up while loading some applications.I've checked my memory and it says I have 11379836 bytes free. I have a memory card so the only things saved on the phone are the defaults and one picture. The only way to fix the messages thing is to take the battery out for a few minutes but it ends up doing it four or five times within a day.
Having issue with TWRP not erasing/flashing roms properly..I have a dark theme installed Domination Theme with the extras (MMS, contacts, etc) and i did a very clean install, normally I go Wipe > Advanced and select all partitions and format it.After flashing another rom, I noticed some parts are still dark themed like the MMS, Google search bar, contacts, etc
I have an 3g (IOS 4.2.1) and I've upgraded my phone so am going to give the 3g to my mother. I chose to "erase iPhone" in the settings - removing all my media, contact, apps etc...which the phone told me would take two hours. I forgot to plug the phone into the charger and the battery died sometime during this process and displayed the empty red battery symbol. When I realised this I plugged it in - and that was 13 hours ago. Now the phone has the apple icon on the screen and when you touch the screen it has the empty red battery symbol on it. It won't switch on or anything. Have killed the phone by trying to erase all my content and restore it to the factory settings? I wondered if it was "stuck" on the restore and I needed to gick it a kick start? But I don't know what to do. Any advice will be appreciated!
I have had this error message on my Curve 8520.What solutions are there besides wipping the data on the device. Is there a way to backup the data before erasing all the data? I have looked into these solutions: url...The solution using JL_Cmder/javaloader its not working as I have XP64 and OS X.Desktop manager does not recognize the device and/or freezes. Hence I am unable to do a backup.
