View 2 RepliesHaving issues performing factory resets? My Nexus 5 seems incapable of completing it. So far I have tried doing a factory reset from the settings menu 4 times. Every single time it locks up on the erasing step. I don't mean it takes a little longer. I have let it sit for almost half an hour and the little android robot sits there taunting me.Every time I have had to manually go into the bootloader and sideload a factory image, which works fine.
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy Nexus 5 running Lollipop was constantly crashing so I decided to factory reset. I am stuck on the 'Erasing...' screen, I had a dead Android come up, when I tried to power off an on the 'Erasing...' screen came back.
I am going on holiday tonight and I'd really like it to work, its kinda essential.
I have never booted or flashed as its a bit beyond me and thats the only solutions I can find.
I had downloaded the new OTA patch about 3 days ago and noticed a lot of battery drain. So I tried to factory reset it and now its just stuck on Erasing with Green Android working. It had, I guess crashed, with the red triangle and I had to hard reset the phone which is now back at Erasing.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI currently have several GB of .mp3 podcasts that I listen to via Pocket Casts. When my Nexus 6's screen is turned off (either by timeout or by locking the phone) the audio will start to stutter and distort. Is there a fix for this? I've tried searching everywhere and I can't seem to find anything more recent than 2012.
Nexus 6, T-Mobile, running Android 5.1.1 (no root, stock OS).
How can I importing contacts stored on the phone to Sim card
Info:
iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1
I hope that there is someone out there who can help me. I have a W595 (Walkman); a super mobile phone that I have owned for 18 months without a problem. Today, I find that there is a problem whilst scrolling through my contacts stored on my phone (not SIM Card). After opening my contacts list from the "home" screen, the contacts list displays. Then, as I scroll down through them to the first one beginning with"C", the display reverts immediately to the "home" screen and then reopens the list starting from "A". If I reverse scroll, I can scroll up through the list and, when I reach first (top) "C" again, the display screen reverts immediately to the "home" screen but this time stays there! There is not a problem when I scroll through the SIM card-stored contacts.
View 1 Replies View RelatedDue to glitches with the 5.1.1, I performed a back up, repair and restore as recommended in these forums. However my contacts seem to have been wiped out and it doesn't give me the option to import contacts stored on my Google account. All in all the 5.1.1 has been the upgrade fro **bleep**.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince updating Lollipop to 5.1, Google Now will not recognize contacts with voice. It repeatedly gives me the response, "You don't have contact details for ___." I have deleted and then restored accounts, cleared cache, checked to make sure all settings are correct in Google Now, all to no avail.

I just updated my phone to android 5.1 and somehow my phone does not recognize my SIM card anymore. Previously, I was using 5.0.1 and had no problem what so ever with my SIM card. Is there something wrong with my phone or SIM card?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMY Nexus 5 suffered a battery failure recently. I have managed to replace that and all good with respect to that. However, since then I am unable to get my phone to recognise the SIM. The SIM was working fine but now I can't connect to my network (Tesco), It seems to recognise the SIM as it states - "No Service - Tesco" in the status panel at the top of the screen. The phone is well out of warranty and was bought directly from CarphoneWarehouse.
I've tried my wife's micro SIM in the Nexus and no luck there either. Further, I've tried my SIM in another old phone and it works fine. Finally, I've resorted to having a new SIM sent out by Tesco and tried that .... and still no luck.
I've tried a factory reset a few times and inserted the SIM with the phone switched off ....
I loaded 5.1 from the images on googles site. All works great except when I boot the phone and am in airplane mode, I get a no Sim card error. As soon as I turn off airplane mode, it goes away. How to clear this? Note I did not factory reset when I loaded. I did not want to loose all of my data.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI seem to be having some difficulty transferring my old contacts from my old iPhone to my new Nexus 5. I believe the easiest way to do this is via iTunes by going on info and syncing the contacts to Google but when I try to do this there is no option for syncing with Google only Windows and another. I have my gmail account set up on my phone and even set up a Google 'CardDav' account.

Like the title says, I am trying to make my Nexus 6 assign certain ringtones to certain contacts on my phone using Zedge. Now I go through the process and it takes the tone and I save it on the contact but then it just goes back to using the default ringtone in the settings menu. I used this to do the assignment and it still won't do it. I don't understand why it won't let me put custom ring tones I contacts, I like to have a ring and text tone for each person on my phone that way I know who it is before I even look at the phone.
