I currently have several GB of .mp3 podcasts that I listen to via Pocket Casts. When my Nexus 6's screen is turned off (either by timeout or by locking the phone) the audio will start to stutter and distort. Is there a fix for this? I've tried searching everywhere and I can't seem to find anything more recent than 2012.
Nexus 6, T-Mobile, running Android 5.1.1 (no root, stock OS).
I have 20GB of music stored on my N5 and had been using Poweramp for MP3 playback. I wanted to try All Access so I opened up Play Music, but I don't see anyway to play the music that is stored locally on the phone. Is there a way to do this?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI replaced myself the screen (preassembled screen+digitizer+frame). After the replacement everything worked perfectly for like two hours when i rebooted it, from then on it is extremely laggy and stutters from boot animation, and when I press the power button (or when the screen shuts down), the phone itself shut down. In bootloader it doesn't seem to have problems.
I checked every connection inside the device (I've disassembled ad reassembled it several times).. thinking of a software problem, I've flashed marshmallow stock rom frist, and kitkat 4.4.4 then... but it's the same with any factory image.
with a lot of patience I set up a google account and downloaded cpu-z to see if maybe temperature sensor where giving wrong information to the system, but they're fine and everything seems to work propely aside from the stutter.
I was using the Note 4 watching HD videos with players such as VLC and MX Player, those episodes I watch are MKV format and they played smoothly on the Note 4, I figured since the 950 XL has better specs that it would play them smoothly too but it doesn't!!!, I updated the phone's firmware and still HD video playback lags and stutter, how come this is happening....
View 18 Replies View RelatedSo I'm on a stock 5.1.1 and updated to the latest Google Photos version, which I think screws with my devices HW acceleration. Basically , after updating I can't watch any HD videos without the frames stuttering, the screen sometimes blacks out in middle of viewing videos as well. Searching around I found that more people experience this, but it isn't that widespread. The problem goes away if I revert the update.

View 1 Replies View RelatedCracked my screen on my Nexus 5 today (squeezed it in a door). The touchscreen won't work and you can't see anything except green and red stripes on the screen. Is there any possibility to reach the files from my computer even if i can't unlock the phone with my graphical password? It runs Android 5.1 and I haven't rooted it or anything. Very desperate to reach the data on my phone, have photos, videos and a diary from my year in Australia... Should think about back-up next time!

I've tried several and Ultimate Media Player seems to be the best - others either don't play the video at all or don't play the audio or have too many frame drops - although I get some frame drops (even with the lowest settings and H/W decoding on).
I recently got the Nexus 6 and shot a few videos in 4k and when playing them back, the videos are choppy, laggy. It's not terrible but definitely noticeable. I have seen other videos shot with this phone and they look perfect and professional.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI'm running CM11 M8, but I've been having this problem with many previous builds.Problem is, whenever I'm listening to music using either the Google Music app or Apollo, and I decide to clear the recent tasks list, playback is stopped. I would assume this was by design, if it weren't for three factors.
1) This post by Diane Hackborn, specifically "uses the new API to tell any services of the application about the task being removed so it can do whatever it thinks is appropriate."
And I should hardly think that stopping playback just cos you're clearing the recent tasks is appropriate. One should be allowed to clear the recent tasks list entirely, and see no change in phone behaviour. The recent task list is not a task manager.
2) This wasn't the way it used to behave (I think circa Jellybean)
3) The Music icon remains in the notification bar even when playback stops.
Is this a bug underlying 4.4.4? Or is a problem with CM only?
My HTC One M8 allows me to have google contacts as well as a local address book on the phone that never get sent back to google. I have about 1500 contacts with detailed info that I do not want to go back to google.I just got a new 2014 Moto X which immediately upgraded itself to Lollipop and when I go into the contacts app, it wants to load anything imported back UP to google. There doesn't seem to be any local address book. I don't know if this is just a Moto X problem or a general lollipop one? My HTC One M8 does not have lollipop.I need to be able to have some contacts sync into my gmail account and others to not be associated with it.

The computers do not recognize the presence of the Nexus (no response and nothing in Device Manager). The Nexus shows it's charging, but that's it. I've tried different cables and computers. In addition, NFC and Beam also do not work but regular WiFi works fine for internet use. Bluetooth works but is too slow to be usable for data transfer.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a issue with my N5. I am trying since a week back to install an APK file to my new N5. Ive looked in forums and youtube and dont seem to be able to find a solution to my problem.
I tried to just download different APK installers to my N5 but as they look for the SD CARD and the N5 dont have any it comes up all empty. after a bit of research i found that ES file explorer could do the trick for me, and when i downloaded it i can now find the file with it, but i can not install it. Ive looked at guides that says with Es file explorer i should be able to just double click the APK file i want to install (it comes up as a .zip file) and it should install it for me, but in my case it only opens up the folder and inside i can only find .xml files, no .apk file that i can click on to install.
i found a program called "Wondershare MobileGo for Android" that should do the trick (in another forum thread) but as im at work and i dont have administrator access i cant install anything and would like to be able to solve this problem with just my phone.
I have successfully flashed both LiquidSmooth ROM (ROM crashed..) and now I went back to CM 12.1... the problem is, when i try to install apk files on my Nexus the installer app says "app not installed" .... I have tried reflashing with a full wipe including dalvik and system format... n

I rarely plug my phone to my laptop, however I wanted to transfer a large amount of pictures today and got stuck.
When I plug my phone in the PC, the phone is recognized as a "media device" but the folder is fully empty, and nothing can be done.
Looking at previous forum posts, I have tried to check if the MTP was enabled, however I could not find the option (when I go to settings, storage and USB, all I can see is information about apps, there is no menu i can access to reach the MTP.
What I could do in order to manage to download my pictures to my PC?

I have rooted and installed the custom recovery everything is working fine, but this is just a little weird.
My phone can transfer files at normal speeds in bootloader mode. It can even transfer files fine when booting up to kit kat. the issue is even though it does all I mentioned, it won't charge (or charges too slow to matter) via USB connected a PC or USB to any AC adapters. View 1 Replies View RelatedApparently I lack sufficient brainpower to do something that, in my small feeble mind, I assumed would be easy: connect my Nexus 5 to a Windows 7 PC via Bluetooth so that I can access the storage files on my Nexus. Very specific, very simple, yet it does not work. I have searched everywhere, and I do not need a tutorial on how to pair them. I have them paired. That pairing does not do anything, it has no function.
On my Nexus 5, it says it is paired to my PC. On my PC, I have a fugly *** Nokia-esque icon that has "Nexus 5" under icon listed under Bluetooth Devices. I do not understand what else I need to do?
P.S. How do I find "Bluetooth drivers"? Windows update has no clue WTF to do, and like I said, I am retarded and lack basic reading comprehension since I cannot find any information that is relevant through searching online.
So I just downloaded some Pokemon ringtones and they're saved as MP3s. I do not want them to show up in the play music app. I moved then to the ringtones folder with the Hangouts sounds but that didn't remove them from play music.

I try to put something in a different folder in the storage of my nexus 5 but i have the same problem (it doesn't appear). I also try to creat another folder and transfer to it but in this case I see what I transfer but I can't click on it or select it.

I copied the contents of my phone to my laptop, then did a factory reset on my device. I copied all the data back to my phone after, but when I open the downsloads folder there are no files in there. On the phone itself it shows 229MB of data there, but I cannot see it on my phone. I can open it on my laptop tho. how I can view the files on my phone again?
