Google Nexus 5 :: Why Can't View Files In Downloads Folder
Dec 24, 2014
I copied the contents of my phone to my laptop, then did a factory reset on my device. I copied all the data back to my phone after, but when I open the downsloads folder there are no files in there. On the phone itself it shows 229MB of data there, but I cannot see it on my phone. I can open it on my laptop tho. how I can view the files on my phone again?
I am trying to find a way to delete with a single tap all the pdf files, thumbnails and other files which end up in my Downloads folder. I have Cleanmaster, but this won't let you choose what to clean. I also have ES File Explorer which will let me access the folder and delete the files, but I'd rather have this process more automated.
I am using Windows 10. I have installed the latest Google USB drivers - downloaded and installed from here: [URL] ..... When I plug in, my device is detected, which proves that the drivers are installed.
1) When I touch the Photo Transfer option (PTP), I only get the DCIM and Pictures folder. If I open the DCIM folder, I see thumbnails of all my images. Some thumbnails show the actual image as well. However, when I open them, I get the following error: [URL] .....
2) When I touch the File Transfer option (MTP), I can open the DCIM folder, and I can see all the thumbnails, but I get the same error as above. [URL] .....
In short, I am unable to open any JPEG files created by my Nexus 6P camera on my laptop. I copied the JPEGs to my Desktop, and I tried to open the files, and surprise - I am STILL getting the SAME error!
The error is "Windows cannot find "". Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."
I am able to open TEXT files, and other audio files from my device. It's only the images I have this error with.
I have the first South Division of Google Chrome on my phone for tomorrow I was wondering in chrome Flags is there any way to default home page to the desktop version vs the the mobile version?
I broke my screen. the phone is still booting up and giving notification sounds and such but the screen is damaged and won't show anything. wondering if i can view the desktop on my pc with windows 7.
How to modify the recents app view, I want it to be Horizontal and Full size app Cards (just like iOS 9 :P ). So, I have done this in the past, kitkat , jb etc, but not in lollipop or marshmallow.... I've decompiled the systemUI.apk and I don't see any way to do it. I really want to do this !!
Ive held off, but before I update to 5.1, I figured I'd ask before running into problems..Im able to navigate to the TWRP folder when in recovery and restore backups, though the folder is nowhere to be found when looking with a file manager.I've used Astro, Amaze and Cabinet file managers and the TWRP folder is missing. I did notice a file named TWRP, but it does not open and is not a folder. How can I get the folder back to manage my backups?
I am having trouble finding my nandroid backup file made with TWRP. I can't even find the TWRP directory! This file system is so confusing! I have tried ES File Explorer, Root Browser, and tried searching the file system using my laptop. I have even searched for "2014-12-13" and nothing is found. Nexus 5 on Android 5.0 w/ TWRP v2.8.1.0
In Lollipop there used to be a section under apps in the settings where you could see what all was currently running in the background. It looks like in Marshmallow this feature has been removed or moved to a different location in the settings. Where it moved to and how to find this in the settings?
In my Contacts native Android app I have several categories of groups setup as options that Android Contacts allows you to do. The only problem is, I don't know how to view an entire group together and use it in any useful way. My intention is to be able to view an entire group at once as a list so I can see who is all in there and be able to notice if someone is missing. Also for my business I have a customers group which would be useful to see how many people I have in the list and view everyone to make sure my daily tasks are not leaving anyone out.
Photos are received using "hangouts" app. I want to move the pics to my computer. And was unable to find them after connecting the phone to the comp. Is it some where under my Google account...
I'm on stock device and I thought my device in multitasking view had a Google search at the top right? It seems to have gone away. Am I correct it's usually there right? Screencap shown..
Summary: Ever since Google Photos updated, the app force quits whenever attempting to access the Device Folder.
Troubleshooting steps performed:
Force quit Photos Cleared Cache + Data in the Photos app Uninstalled Photos updates (App will not run unless updated) Cleared Google Services Cache (Read about it on the internet) Cleared dalvik-cache (Why not?) Restarted device (like a boss) Booted into Safe Mode (Power>hold Power Off>Press OK) = same results
How to resolve this issue besides a factory reset.
I have accidentally deleted camera folder in quickpic app and lost all of mi important photos... How to retrieve those photos...I haven't added any backup options too....
Icons in the menu were displayed in 2 pages earlier. But all of a sudden it changed to List View. I think some buttons were pressed when it is in my pocket.
I'm trying to backup my phone to flash a stock LP (to try to fix some problems with the battery) but I'm having this strange problem. When I connect my phone to the pc I can see most of the folders, but not all of them, and a lot of files doesn't seem to be there. On the phone, with Explorer, I can see everything so I don't understand what could be the issue.
My Nexus 5 has never been able to transfer files over USB to Win7 computers. The computers do not recognize the presence of the Nexus (no response and nothing in Device Manager). The Nexus shows it's charging, but that's it. I've tried different cables and computers. In addition, NFC and Beam also do not work but regular WiFi works fine for internet use. Bluetooth works but is too slow to be usable for data transfer.
I have a issue with my N5. I am trying since a week back to install an APK file to my new N5. Ive looked in forums and youtube and dont seem to be able to find a solution to my problem.
I tried to just download different APK installers to my N5 but as they look for the SD CARD and the N5 dont have any it comes up all empty. after a bit of research i found that ES file explorer could do the trick for me, and when i downloaded it i can now find the file with it, but i can not install it. Ive looked at guides that says with Es file explorer i should be able to just double click the APK file i want to install (it comes up as a .zip file) and it should install it for me, but in my case it only opens up the folder and inside i can only find .xml files, no .apk file that i can click on to install.
i found a program called "Wondershare MobileGo for Android" that should do the trick (in another forum thread) but as im at work and i dont have administrator access i cant install anything and would like to be able to solve this problem with just my phone.
I have successfully flashed both LiquidSmooth ROM (ROM crashed..) and now I went back to CM 12.1... the problem is, when i try to install apk files on my Nexus the installer app says "app not installed" .... I have tried reflashing with a full wipe including dalvik and system format... n
Now I am about to give it up and leave my phone blank as a paper and have only free applications installed from Google Play... I have been already told that i might have flashed the wrong GAPPS but i doubt thats the problem since i flashed NANO GAPPS 5.1.1.
I rarely plug my phone to my laptop, however I wanted to transfer a large amount of pictures today and got stuck.
When I plug my phone in the PC, the phone is recognized as a "media device" but the folder is fully empty, and nothing can be done.
Looking at previous forum posts, I have tried to check if the MTP was enabled, however I could not find the option (when I go to settings, storage and USB, all I can see is information about apps, there is no menu i can access to reach the MTP.
What I could do in order to manage to download my pictures to my PC?
Just curious what app people have installed that will play a wav file within the email app itself. Is, clicking on the wavv file in the email opens it up in the app, vs having to download the file exit the email app, go into a wav app and then find the file? Have tried several without luck so far.
On Win 7 when I connect my phone to the computer some files and folders don't show up even though they are indeed there. Is this a compatibility or driver issue?
I have rooted and installed the custom recovery everything is working fine, but this is just a little weird.
My phone can transfer files at normal speeds in bootloader mode. It can even transfer files fine when booting up to kit kat. the issue is even though it does all I mentioned, it won't charge (or charges too slow to matter) via USB connected a PC or USB to any AC adapters. I've tried many working cables and AC adapters...
I have installed super beam to my nexus 5 mobile . Earlier I was using superbeam to send video files but now am facing an issue sending video files since super beam is crashing after clicked send button.
Apparently I lack sufficient brainpower to do something that, in my small feeble mind, I assumed would be easy: connect my Nexus 5 to a Windows 7 PC via Bluetooth so that I can access the storage files on my Nexus. Very specific, very simple, yet it does not work. I have searched everywhere, and I do not need a tutorial on how to pair them. I have them paired. That pairing does not do anything, it has no function.
On my Nexus 5, it says it is paired to my PC. On my PC, I have a fugly *** Nokia-esque icon that has "Nexus 5" under icon listed under Bluetooth Devices. I do not understand what else I need to do?
P.S. How do I find "Bluetooth drivers"? Windows update has no clue WTF to do, and like I said, I am retarded and lack basic reading comprehension since I cannot find any information that is relevant through searching online.
