My phone can transfer files at normal speeds in bootloader mode. It can even transfer files fine when booting up to kit kat. the issue is even though it does all I mentioned, it won't charge (or charges too slow to matter) via USB connected a PC or USB to any AC adapters. I've tried many working cables and AC adapters...

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I'm on a stock 5.1.1 and updated to the latest Google Photos version, which I think screws with my devices HW acceleration. Basically , after updating I can't watch any HD videos without the frames stuttering, the screen sometimes blacks out in middle of viewing videos as well. Searching around I found that more people experience this, but it isn't that widespread. The problem goes away if I revert the update.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just bought a Netgear EX6200 Extender and a Netgear AC785 SIM card router with a 4G SIM inserted. The initial setup was perfect and I was able to use my Nexus 5 to access the internet via the EX6200 from all over the house. But after two days, for no apparent reason, my Nexus 5 (Marshmallow) suddenly could not get past "Obtaining IP address" when trying to connect to the EX6200 although my PC was able to connect properly with no problem (and I was also able to connect the phone successfully direct to the AC785 router).
To try and solve the problem I reset both the AC785 and the EX6200 to their factory defaults and went through the same setup procedure as before. Now, although I can connect to the internet from my PC and my wife's Samsung tablet (Android) my phone still will not connect. After a bit of a pause whilst "Obtaining IP address", it shows as "Connected but no internet access"
Why can't I see my Nexus 5 when I connect it to a Windows 10 tablet?
I can connect through Bluetooth but then only get an option to sync contacts but no option to transfer pictures.

I had to go somewhere so I didn't check it after I locked it and put it in my bag. When I did check it around 15 minutes later, I couldn't turn on the phone so I assumed the battery had ran out of juice. I got home 5 hours later and plugged in the charger, immediately turning it on. However, when I turned it on, I saw that it still had 38% so I did some stuff on it when the app I was using said I had no connection.
I reconnected to my WiFi but it still said I had no connection. I unplugged it and turned off the phone, but then I couldn't turn it on again. So I charged it again, and attempted to turn it on while still charging but all it would give me was the Google logo (which is the first thing that shows up when you turn on a Nexus 5) for about 2 seconds and then it would turn off again, even while plugged in. Now when it's charging, it keeps going to the Google logo for 2 seconds, shows a black screen for 3 seconds, goes back to the Google logo and keeps repeating this cycle.

For the past few weeks, my phone has been struggling to stay connected to my home WiFi. I feel like it might be a problem with the WiFi itself, since my phone remains connected to other WiFi sources. The network shows up on my phone, but just shows its status as "Saved" and won't connect.
I have a Nexus 6, Verizon, on 5.1.1, build LMY48M. It is not rooted, and I don't have any battery saver apps or firewall apps on my phone.
My WiFi at home is Comcast WiFi, a 2.4 GHz signal, with G and N supported protocols, with WPAWPA2-TKIP/AES security. The firewall security is set to low. I have a modem/router combination (the one you lease from Comcast).
I have tried most things described on the internet; forgetting the network on my phone and reconnecting, resetting the wireless modem, updating the modem, switching WiFi on and off, the same with airplane mode, changing my wireless on the phone from automatic to 2.4Ghz and 5GHz, and nothing has worked. If I turn the phone off and then back on, it will reconnect to the WiFi, but will only stay connected for a few hours, at which point it won't connect.
I've had to turn my cellular data off completely because my phone is devouring my mobile data.
My Nexus 5 does not charge anymore. Battery icon shows that the phone is charging, but not really...I left the phone on charger for days and when checked, the phone was dead.

-On charger tested the battery port with multi-meter: it shows 4.27v
So, 2 days ago, I went to work and my phone was fine. I went on break, and it was dead. Won't power on, won't charge, nothing. After a bit if fighting I've given up on it. It's served me well, but my poor Nexus 5 has seen it's last days it appears. It didn't quite make it 2 years, but I still don't regret it.
View 7 Replies View RelatedYesterday my Nexus 5 turned itself off and since then i can't get it back on. (Still got enough battery left then). When I try to start my phone with the power button nothing happens, and also when I try it with different combinations in buttons it won't start. Now, when I try to charge my nexus everytime the google logo shows up and it shuts itself down, this happens over and over again... as long as the phone is plugged in (same with usb connection on pc).
When I Try to do it in bootloader it shows up one second and shut itself off again. The device is/was rooted, I have to say that I did an update and after that it was half rooted I guess I don't know but for three days there stood a new update, but i never did it...
I was using an app on my Nexus 5 while it was charging and the screen just froze so I locked it and when I tried to unlock it, it didn't work. I also tried the power button but it doesn't do anything. Is there anything I can do? Should I take it to a shop?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a bug with my Nexus battery that no longer charge, the temperature of the battery is rated for -30 C but it does not recharge, whether in the ROM, the recovery, the bootloader , I ' have already connect - disconnect the battery several times but still nothing , I wonder if the fact that the phone has heated yesterday (CPU at ~ 85 C for 1 H) have damaged the sensor , I would like disabled or ignore it to allow charging of the phone.It happen once already , I just disconnected - reconnected the battery and it was gone, but here it does not work again.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI bought a Nexus 5 about 15 days back. I am very happy with the phone - except for the fact that I face difficulty connecting to my Home Network in particular. My Windows Laptop, My wife's iPhone and iPAD connect to the same WIFI almost instantaneously. However, my Nexus 5 phone keeps saying "Obtaining IP Address" endlessly. At times, it says "Weak Signal - Cannot Reconnect" and gives up. However, all other mobile devices show that the signal strength is good. the phone does connect to the WiFi after sometime by itself.
I do not have this problem when I am at my office. It connects immediately to the WiFi in my office.

I am having problems with the combination of radio apps (e.g. TuneIn, CBC Radio, NPR), and a Bluetooth speaker (Blackweb SoundPebble). The apps work fine and will play through the Nexus 5 speakers or headphones when no Bluetooth speaker is connected. However, when I connect a Bluetooth speaker, the apps do not work - they don't get past the title screen. The Bluetooth speaker works OK with locally stored files e.g. music saved to the device.

The computers do not recognize the presence of the Nexus (no response and nothing in Device Manager). The Nexus shows it's charging, but that's it. I've tried different cables and computers. In addition, NFC and Beam also do not work but regular WiFi works fine for internet use. Bluetooth works but is too slow to be usable for data transfer.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a issue with my N5. I am trying since a week back to install an APK file to my new N5. Ive looked in forums and youtube and dont seem to be able to find a solution to my problem.
I tried to just download different APK installers to my N5 but as they look for the SD CARD and the N5 dont have any it comes up all empty. after a bit of research i found that ES file explorer could do the trick for me, and when i downloaded it i can now find the file with it, but i can not install it. Ive looked at guides that says with Es file explorer i should be able to just double click the APK file i want to install (it comes up as a .zip file) and it should install it for me, but in my case it only opens up the folder and inside i can only find .xml files, no .apk file that i can click on to install.
i found a program called "Wondershare MobileGo for Android" that should do the trick (in another forum thread) but as im at work and i dont have administrator access i cant install anything and would like to be able to solve this problem with just my phone.
I have successfully flashed both LiquidSmooth ROM (ROM crashed..) and now I went back to CM 12.1... the problem is, when i try to install apk files on my Nexus the installer app says "app not installed" .... I have tried reflashing with a full wipe including dalvik and system format... n
Now I am about to give it up and leave my phone blank as a paper and have only free applications installed from Google Play... I have been already told that i might have flashed the wrong GAPPS but i doubt thats the problem since i flashed NANO GAPPS 5.1.1.
Are power banks safe to use for charging purpose??? Do we need to consider any particular charger with specific power output? Any specific brand to consider?
View 12 Replies View Relatedsince replaced the display on my nexus 5, the indicator of the battery charge remains always at 0% ... if the detachment from the current, continues to run regularly for a few hours. I also tried replacing the battery with an original but to no avail. If i turn off the phone there is no way to turn it back on if you disconnect the battery, attacking power, get it going in the bootloader, reattach the battery and then start.

The audio comes out of the phone speakers. I had the phone "forget" the bluetooth speaker and then re-paired, no dice, audio still comes through the phone speakers. The same thing happens with my car sometimes. I've tried everything.

I've read about the "Metered Wi-Fi network" settings, but it doesn't say exactly what it does - it mainly talks about restricting background data on a mobile network, and setting data limits on a mobile network, even though it's supposed to be about Metered Wi-Fi networks.
I rarely plug my phone to my laptop, however I wanted to transfer a large amount of pictures today and got stuck.
When I plug my phone in the PC, the phone is recognized as a "media device" but the folder is fully empty, and nothing can be done.
Looking at previous forum posts, I have tried to check if the MTP was enabled, however I could not find the option (when I go to settings, storage and USB, all I can see is information about apps, there is no menu i can access to reach the MTP.
What I could do in order to manage to download my pictures to my PC?
Just curious what app people have installed that will play a wav file within the email app itself. Is, clicking on the wavv file in the email opens it up in the app, vs having to download the file exit the email app, go into a wav app and then find the file? Have tried several without luck so far.

View 10 Replies View RelatedMy nexus 5 sometimes shows 1hours 40 minutes which is the exact time it should charge from 0 to 100 but sometimes it shows 3 hrs sometimes 2hr sometimes 6 hrs.I have a sony 5000 mah power bank. when i connect my nexus 5 to that with nexus 5 usb cable it still shows the same problem. I have connected a couple of chargers but still same problem.
