Xperia Z2 :: Backup And Restore - No Option To Import Contacts Stored On Google Account
Nov 10, 2014
Due to glitches with the 5.1.1, I performed a back up, repair and restore as recommended in these forums. However my contacts seem to have been wiped out and it doesn't give me the option to import contacts stored on my Google account. All in all the 5.1.1 has been the upgrade fro **bleep**.
When I save contacts to the memory card I get a file named 00001.vcf. When I open this file in outlook it seems to contain only the first of all my contacts. Can I open this file in another way to get all my contacts? Is it possible to import all my contacts to Pc Companion? When I syncronize the phone with this program I only get the bookmarks exported from the phone to the program. No contact is exported. I have already lost my contacts once and will be sure that I have saved them correctly.
I just restored my galaxy s5 because of the lollipop update and i had everything backed up to my google account how do i get everything back onto my phone now.
I had faced this issue when i last updated my phone when the 2.1 had come out.. I installed the latest Backup and Restore application as recomended by the SE update site.. Then backed up my files onto an already existing backup (which i think has corrupted the backup), hence overwriting the file.. After that i upgraded to 2.1 and restored my files, which failed because the contacts were not successfully imported (even though the Backup and Restore app said that the import was succesful.)
i was asked to repair the firmware using PC companion and hence want to backup succesfully without any problems. I cant risk loosing my contacts again. And i want to know from others in this forum if they have faced this issue on normal backup (not overwritten on an existing backup). [URL]
I have been using the HTC EVO for about a year now...I picked this phone up yesterday and I really enjoy the Photon. I have installed SPB shell for my interface because I just don't like the form and function of the UI that comes with it. Everything seems to be just great with the phone. The battery life is much better than the EVO. I have had moderate to heavy use of it today since 6:00am and after 9 hours of use I'm down to 30% of my battery life. I also have my corporate email set to push, with gtalk usage (without the video, i noticed that that issue was addressed), texting, voice calls and some internet usage.
My Z5 compact does not backup any more. I want to automatick backup daily to online account, but in "where to store files" it says "Online account Not logged in". And then I push it, nothing changes. I have tried to restart phone. What to do?
My iphone asked if I wanted to update and I hit yes. It said to plug into ITunes so I did. My only option is to "restore". It didn't ask if I want to backup first.I don't have service on phone and I don't want to restore. How can I go back to "not" restoring?
i was wondering if anyone could help me to find my contacts! i used the backup function on my phone then reset the phone thinking i could restore my contacts! after resetting i went to restore and the percentage went up and said it had finished but still no contacts! call log restored though! i then tried to import the ones i had saved on my sim again it finishes loading but when i go into phonebook it comes up with the same screen saying, import sim contacts, sync and google sync. however when a sim contact txt me their name appeared! yet i cant get to them in my phonebook! also now my phone wont acsess the internet, i have enables data trafficing but it wont open the browser.what is going on! is there a simple solution i have missed?
Today I went to update my X10. While at work it wouldn't allow me to as it insisted I connected it to a computer. So at home I got the USB cabled hooked up to my Linux Laptop and then discovered it had to be a windows computer.Anyway, I got it hooked to a Windows computer and the update process began. I followed every instruction and set all tickboxes for backup. After unplugging this and plugging it back in and rebooting here and there, it finally reached the restore process.I left it restoring for a while. When I came back to it, it said something had crashed. I don't know what as I'd just woken from a nap. But, it seems all my applications are restored. Yet my gmail account & Facebook account have become disassociated from my phone and all my contacts no longer have any names or pictures. I opened the contacts/phone book and the list is completely empty. tried to import contacts but it says it cannot find any anywhere.
Today, I got instructions from AT&T on how to unlock. I was able to perform backup on iTunes of my iPhone 4. But, I am not able to see the option to do 'Restore from backup' in iTunes. Currently, I have the Gevey SIM in the iPhone, not the original AT&T SIM.
My 'backup and restore' app won't back up my text messages... it backs up the other things on the list for example the contacts, call logs, brower history etc. I would like to save the messages before I update my phone.Or unless there is another way of saving my messages, i.e. saving them onto a pc or something.I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro.
I'm currently running Android 6.0 DP3 on my Nexus 5 and have to perform a clean flash due to battery drain issues. However, this will make me go through the whole backup and re-setup process again - backup images, backup Whatsapp, backup all documents and download, flash the phone, restore everything, log into the different apps, set up Gmail accounts etc. Obviously, I'm not looking forward to that it's basically also the reason which has kept me from trying different ROMs on my phone in the past. I know that there is Titanium Backup just for that job, but it needs root access and I can't root my phone because this will trigger the "phone isn't secure"-alarm of my bank's super cautious TAN app which will stop it from working (just like using Tasker does, which obviously sucks).
I used to be a Blackberry user, and backing up and updating the device was as easy as plugging it into the computer and running Blackberry Link. This will be the first time I try to backup and my Nexus.
I'd like to follow the guide that was posted on this blog about installing 5.0 from the factory image ( i can't post the link, but its safeurl is 'android-50-hits-nexus-devices-heres-how-update'), but I'd like to backup all my apps, their settings, texts, pictures, etc first, then flash it to get a fresh install then restore the backups.
I decided this morning to root my phone and am now realizing that Nova Launcher apparantly doesn't allow you to choose the location of your backup file if you want to restore it..I keep reading that the default location where the backup file needs to be is on an SD card, how could Nova have overlooked this for Nexus 5 owner's?
I just got an xperia x8 phone and i tried importing my contacts from my sim to my phone but it didn't work. It went through the process of copying them but then when it was completed my phone stil had no contacts.
My old phone (samsung) dies yesterday, and i had all contacts saved on my SD card.Luckely its the same card as in the X10, so it is recognisable, and i can import all contacts one by one.
IS there an option i can copy all contacts AT ONCE from my SD card to the Xperia X10?
I restored a backup using Nokia PC Suite which successfully backed up all data from my Nokia N96 phone. Everything restored EXCEPT my contacts. I can't find them anywhere and they were definitely backed up! Any idea how I can get them back? Have I lost all my numbers forever?
So I understand this is a new feature in marsmallow, right? Your app data within reason being backed up into your google account. I'm considering whether to root the 6P to install Xposed, and obviously unlocking the bootloader will wipe everything out and to be fair life is too short to spend configuring all my apps again the way I like them.
Problem. I need to restore telephone contacts to an N73 from a PC backup file: C:Documents and SettingsvinklaApplication DataPC Suite 35973xxxxxxxx PCCSContact Background. My N73 was behaving strangely with full phone memory problems. PC Suite backup terminated with a "not enough phone memory" error.I upgraded the phone software and was then able to perform a backup. After the upgrade, all my contacts had "disappeared" from my telephone, but I am able to see them in the backup PCCSContact file.
I have to send my iPhone 4 back due to a fault...for the second time...and as my wife and I share the same itunes account when I backed up my phone the last time it did not transfer all of my own contacts to the new handset when I carried out a 'restore from backup'. Does she need to have her own Apple Id to stop this happening? And if so, does that mean that we cannot share bought apps and songs in future?
I have a r800i. Running on 2.3.4. FW is .62 and running a custom ROM (JokaWIld v3).
Somehow all my contacts have been deleted and I think I forgot to make a backup of the contacts before i went into custom romming... (silly me). But my other sim card has most of my contacts so i inserted my other sim card and now when i go to contacts, and press the options menu, the 'import' option is not highlighted...
