My iPhone4 Contacts has duplicated contacts "From My Mac" and from "iCloud". This probably happened becasue I was syncing to myMac before iCloud services came on line. How can I erase all the contacts from my mac?

I have the iPhone 4S running iOS 5.1. Is there any way for me to organize my contacts into groups so that I can send a text message to a large group of people without having to individually pick out their contact? On my old phone I could simply assign each contact to a group name. I'm sure there is a function like this on the iPhone.

I found one option to go on icloud and make new groups and add the contacts I want to those groups.
I cannot figure out how to get those new groups to actually show up on my phone.
I don't use icloud for anything, other than backing contacts, thats it.Â

As far as I can tell, this is the original list from iCloud. How do I get rid of the From My Mac list without deleting the other list?I have checked iTunes... it is not set to sync contacts.I have checked iCloud and there are no duplicates there.

I just upgraded to a One X on ATT. Couple of questions:
1. How do I delete contact Groups?
2. Contacts in the Favorites group are displayed in a grid with pictures. How do I display in a list format without pictures?
Everytime I edit a contact it creates a duplicate of the contact. Then when I go to delete the duplicate contact it occaisionally deletes both of them.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIt seems that the E71 does not support groups like older models used to: apparently groups are listed alongside contacts, and it is no longer possible to see and search groups directly. I'd like to see my groups straight away (e.g. clients, business partners, friends, etc), open and search them, rather than finding them among the contacts. Actually, this setup misses the whole point of classifying contacts into groups! What on Earth was Nokia thinking? Is there any way around this? A firmware update or a third-party app? Also, how are contact groups managed in the N97 mini? Is it the same, or does that mobile finally allow you to see and search groups directly?

View 15 Replies View RelatedAnyway to surpass the 20 members per group limitation...I have to say this is really annoying why is it old androids phone let you have close to unlimited members per group according to your SD card storage, but not for Lumia 900
so I am thinking Nokia should mark this as a play phone not for business usage? I am quite frustrated that I got a new phone but force to use back my 5800 xpress music because most of my contacts transfer over is kinda screw up, and yes I have went to a Nokia care center and all they can reply "is a new software is like that".
The max number of persons allowed in a contact group is (as far as I know) restricted to 20 persons. This seems very low and I wonder why this restriction is applied. A limitation of 20 persons in a group is not practical.

For some reason I decided to remove the groups and my first option was delete it from contacts_group which was fairly easy. However I notice though the groups was deleted, if I go to phonebook I still see the groups. How to completely remove them?
View 9 Replies View RelatedDroid Turbo Ballistic 64G (running v5.1). Since the last 2 Android upgrades, phone has stopped displaying a Groups tab in contacts (Favorites & All Contacts are only tabs shown)
I haven't found any settings to fix this, and validated that other brand phones did not lose Groups tab after the upgrade!
Note: phone allows contacts to be assigned to groups (as always); but haven't found a way to utilize groups & would like that capability back!
I've created Contact Groups that are placed under Phone Contacts (Not Gmail Contacts!).Now I try to delete them and they do disappear from my apps like Contacts GroupU.But if you check the View Contacts - Display Contacts - Phone Contacts from the Phonebook (top left icon in Contactlist) all groups are still there.Some that were created twice are even listed double.I would like to know how I can remove those groups from the list.If I keep a group from the Gmail lst pressed, then I get a popup offering me to delete the sync group.I hope you understand my problem. Instead, every message is identified by the phone number. So whereas before I could easily id them now its more difficult. Anyone know how I can get the original setting back? I can create new Groups (I assume, because there's a button that says I can), but can't change existing ones. I've tried going to the individual contacts to see if the group designation reside there now, etc. I'm wondering if this is tied to Verizon's Backup Assistant, somehow, though my groups don't appear on the web interface for that service at all.
When accessing a contact group, the bionic will always open the last opened contact group. I worked through some settings with motorola last winter, but the problem has never corrected. I even received a new phone when the speaker jack crapped out, same issue.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have duplicated contacts in my BB Curve 8900. The count given by BB is 1120 (my address book) but it seems it is more 3300 (3 times each). About 15 of them are not duplicated.It is synchronized with Lotus Notes with BES at the office (I think). All was perfect for many weeks. I install Desktop Manager at home and I twice export an ASCII file of my contacts to have them in Excel. Then my contacts were 2 times duplicated.
I try both solutions suggested on forums :
- RSET in Options on device : it wipes contacts and repopulate them later. But they were always present in the BB, even if in the options I can read Numbers :
- In Desktop Manager, Advanced option under Backup and Restore, I clear contacts (Address book, and Address book all) : databases show as empty with no records, but records are still there twice before repopulating. After that, each contact is present 3 times.
I have been looking for a solution on many forums without solving my problem even with many topics talking about it. I would like to remove all contacts from the address book and resync after.Anyone have any ideas about how to wipe Contacts that refuse to be wiped?
My wife's Photon was stolen. When I went to restore her contactson her replacement phone, it showed she had 7200 contacts!She should only have around 180. I went on her phone and the is 44 entries for every person.They have a Motorola service contact" heading on each one.
