I'm only asking out of curiousity but I wanted to know if you could bounce back and forth between Mac and PC syncs with the same iPhone. I know the process of connecting the iDevice to the computer is a bit different than it was with the old iPods and that if you started out on a Mac, you basically had to stick with it or risk messing up the hard drive in it. Does that same rule still hold true with the newer iDevices?
I use a Mac laptop at home (older one with Tiger OS) , and PC at work. I do not want to share home info with the work PC but would like to be able to sync my work outlook calendar to my iphone 6.I also do not want my work email on my iphone. Of course the IT guys at work don't like Macs and say this can't be done.Â
Is it possible to have Birthdays entered into iOS contacts (which do show up in the iOS calendar) sync to Exchange/Outlook 2010 via activesync? (not using iTunes)
I wanted to update my software to the latest version so before i did that i made sure i synced/backed up my phone. Then i restored my phone from back up only to find that my contacts have all dissapeared. Why?
All my apps, calender, notes, photos etc have appeared except for my contacts.
I can't seem to get App Sync 3.1 to sync the apps I've gotten from Cydia. I've tried reinstalling it, deleting it and then downloading a fresh copy of it, but no luck either way. And yes, I DID restart after both scenarios. I'm running 3.13 on a 3GS.
I've got a new iPhone for only a few months, and I have no problem making custom ringtones, but sometimes, when i sync them to my iPhone, here comes the problem: "it shows up as a ringtone in iTunes, but it won't sync to the phone. I've restarted my phone several times, hoping that would do it. I've removed all my ringtones, then re-synced them but still nothing."
I searched the forum, Googled this and found that a lot of user have the similar problems but no sound solutions. It took me a long time to finally get this problem fixed before I found an article how to sync iPhone ringtone on mac. I learned that iPhone Ringtones have a lot of limitations like it's up to 30 secs, none of the song fields (song name, artist, composer, etc) have special characters etc, which I didn't know before.Well, if you have the similar problems, I am sure that can help you out.
iphones sync stops when "determining apps to sync" - any clue how to fix this? ipad syncs ok, but my iphone 4s and wife's iphone 4s doesn't get past stage 4 of the sync
I can't sync my iphone. I've never had problems with iPhones I've had in the past, just with my 4S. What happens is it stays on "waiting for sync to start" and eventually times out saying it failed to sync.I restarted my computer and phone..still having the problem.I tried syncing via cable, rather than over wi-fi. I even turned off wi-fi on both my mac and the phone...didn't resolve the issue I restored my phone to a back up. .no dice again I restored my phone and set it up as a new iPhone...it synced TWICE, but every time since it has had the same problem.....so basically, no dice.
From time to time, I experience that my Xperia X10 does not automatically sync e-mail accounts (using the supplied/standard e-mail application). I've set up a number of e-mail acocunts (6) with different update rates ranging from 15 to 60 minutes. I can go in to one of the accounts, whereby it syncs and I can see that I have received a number of new e-mails (for a period more than 6-12 hours, without receiving any type of notification.
This is really annoying since I miss important emails. What can be done to ensure that they sync automatically and that I receive notifications?
I have a newly arisen problem where my BB Bold 9650 will synch addresses and other data but fails to complete the synch with calendar. The pop up message from Intellisync says "connector specific error" I have tried reloading the start up disc but no change.
I just noticed that my calendar was not syncing with my Google calendar, and went in to settions>accounts and noticed that the sync brower (which was new to me) had stalled and turned the sync circle "red". I then shut off sync browser and rebooted a couple times and my calendar is now synced. Seems that Google is adding feattures as don't recall seeing sync browser.Just curious, is there a webpage that documents or advises updates to this device so that I don't scratch my head each time? The "Apps" do a great job of advising changes, sure would be nice to see changes in the OS.
I get new phone restored and try using BB desktop to sync my Outlook contact list with phone. It wants to errase all contacts and then add all of them back in each time. Also get an error at the end of sync "During sync, some of the records were invalid. The following 1 records were skipped:Address Book: Device - 0Microsoft Outlook - 1 Do you want to view the sync log for more details Yes / No" Never did this with last phone.
With my wife, we got 2 BB Curve 8520 and we're now trying to sync both of them with our Outlook 2003 SP3 on XP SP3. Both do the same thing:
1/ First sync goes well, the BB calendar gets filled up, 2/ Everything syncs well during a few days, 3/ One day, the sync tells us it will delete 3000+ elements on Outlook, of course I click Reject and cancel the sync, 4/ I restart OK by synching one-dir from Outlook tp BB, 5/ A few days after, it returns to step 3 and is behaving bad again.
I can't get any durable solution, the only thing I got is a workaround that lasts only a few days.
following situation: - About 1150 contact entries in Outlook - About 2000 calendar entries in Outlook - Software: DTM 5.0.1 - Mailer: Outlook 2003 connected to Exchange 2003 Blackberry Device: - Connected to Desktop via USB - No e-Mail function needed! When i try to sync everything looks fine with all entries. But if i sync again directly after a sync is finished, there are about 200 calendar entries to sync. If i resync these entries, the next time they should be synced again. Seems like al loop! Everytime i try to sync these 200 entries they found by DTM again to sync. I've erased the Device Cache and the Intellisync folder on the Desktop - but the problem still appears!
I bought the X10 mini pro simply because I love SE phones and I wanted to have my office e-mail with me where ever I go but I have been so disappointed. It's never been possible tp set up my e-mail on the Roadsync application from Android 2.1 there is this error -1002 that I get any time I try to Synchronize my mails and this is getting me crazy; one of the most important reason I bought the the X10 mini pro - get my corporate e-mails is becoming impossible. When it is connected on WiFi, it does sync all my emails but immediately it is switched to 3G all the mails in the inbox disappears and it's not able to sync again.
If I fill out the address and birthday fields on the web site contacts page. Sync to my phone fails. If I fill out the address field on my phone, then it doesn't complete the relevent fields on the web site. The address fields on the web site are different to the phone and fields on the site are not supported by the phone's address book.
It seems like the two are running different software and are slightly incompatible
I would like to sync my iPhone to iCloud (since MobileMe is about to be removed) for backup, but my desktop Mac doesn't connect to iCloud as I run Snow Leopard (not running Lion, and I have no intention of installing Lion, having heard how many problems that caused to my friends).Having tried to sync to iCloud with the phone, I'm now unable to sync with my desktop iCal or Address Book. Now, none of my appointments and reminders are being transferred between the two.
1. I have a few messages that I got a couple of days ago, and for some reason, those 5 last messages won't sync into Ovi. But if I send myself a new message now, it will sync that new one, still ignoring those other 5.
They are in the Inbox. I'm using Ovi 2.1.1.1 Windows 7. Connected via Bluetooth. Nokia n95 (4gb) is my mobile. Why is this happening?
2. Can I somehow reset/delete my current sync profile and start over with a fresh new sync of my mobile phone? I tried to un-install and re-install Ovi, but all the old sync data was already there... I want Ovi to "start over" if you will, in hope that this issue above goes away.
For a long time I have just been syncing to outlook on my desktop. Now my job requires that I have wireless sync to the online calendar at work. Only my calendar syncs wirelessly. I can still sync notes, tasks, contacts to outlook.I would like to be able to do at least a one-way sync from device to outlook. I tried temporarily disabling the wireless sync on the calendar, but it didn't work. So, in a nutshell, how can I wirelessly sync to my work calendar, AND desktop sync to outlook at home.
After my MOTOACTV 8GB came from warranty (from Moto, obviously), Motocast USB offered me an software update. I ran before the software update and sync'd to my motoactv.com account. After I installed the software update, my Motoactv DOES NOT SYNC with my account.I tried everything: sync with my laptop (Mac OS X Lion, last update), sync with wi-fi, sync after power off/power on, sync after reboot (start+power), sync after reboot of my laptop, sync after "factory reset". DOES NOT SYNC.
Then I tried a new account on motoactv.com. Now it does sync! The I tried to login to motoactv.com page -the new version is UGLY and DOES NOT WORK in Mac OS X Lion' Safari, why we need ads on that page? I BOUGHT, I OWN one MOTOACTV 8GB- and I can login to my old account, all my OLD info is there, but I want to put my new info, my new stats there. The watch does sync with my new account, DOES NOT SYNC with my old account. Then I tried to "factory reset" and to sync with old account... STILL DOES NOT SYNC.Today, I ran, and phone DOES NOT SYNC with new account neither... then I "factory reset" and it does sync with new account, but it DOES NOT SYNC with old account.
After a recent desktop software update the sync does not function properly and hangs. I've left it for up to 2 hours and it never finishes. Anyone else have this problem and let me know how to fix it.
I have my iPhoto library and my videos on my MacBook, but I'd like my main desktop PC to be the one I sync my phone regularly too. It has all my music, apps, calendars, contacts etc.
My question is, can I sync my iPhone to my PC, then plug it into my MacBook and only sync my photos and videos across?
have my iphone synced and backed up on the house PC but I recently got a Mac book pro, and it'd be very handy not to have to use the PC for backups anymore but rather to use the laptop. Is there a way to backup the phone onto the mac book? When I connect it to itunes on the mac book it appears to be syncing with the empty itunes, which I obviously don't want it to do - is there a way to reverse this and instead to have the iphone back up onto the itunes on the mac book?
Recently got the iPhone 4s, it won't sync with iTunes! I plug it in and it gets to stage 2 of 6 backing up, then freezes my iTunes. I have the latest version of iTunes and my iphone software is up to date, I've tried to uninstall and reinstall iTunes with windows with no success. I have also tried to delete all previous backups in case of a corrupt 1 however this also has not worked
