Feb 21, 2014Does the Icon have Restart option? Silence (Vibrate) option? If you hold down the Power button it says to slide down to Power Off. How do I restart the phone? Is there quick way to put the phone on silence (vibrate) option?

Jul 27, 2015Up until yesterday evening, I could press the down volume key on the side of the phone and I would get a drop down option that I could use to put the phone on vibrate or complete silence. That has now disappeared. Instead, I get a speaker with a slider bar and even when I drag the slider as far as I can to the left, my phone no longer goes on silent. How do I quickly put my phone on vibrate only or complete silence now as I cannot find the option in settings? (plus that way isn't really a shortcut).

1. slide finger towards right to unlock
2. slide finger towards left to silent phone
The issue is that phone gets silent without the intention to do so. Is there any setting by which I can disable this Silent functionality?

Apr 26, 2013I usually use smart connect and NFC tag to fully silent my phone at night time (no vibrate or sound), yet the only option in smart connect is sound, vibrate and priority, and priority mode vibrates. I realise I can now change to full silent mode from the lock screen with the volume button, but i thought it would be an option to put into smart connect as a selection.

Jul 7, 2010I have my gmail account set up on my iphone 4 and I noticed that if I go to:
Settings -> Mail, Contacts and Calerndars -> choose my account.
There is an option to sync my calendar. I assume this syncs my calendar items from my iphone with my google calendar? How does that work? When does it sync? When I dock my phone to sync with my PC or does it sync over the air? Does it work well? When I enabled it. It asked if I wanted to keep the data from my local iphone calendar. I don't want to lose any data so I said yes then it said that this would likely cause duplicate data. Whats the deal there? It would be cool if my calendar data synced in a smooth way with my google calendar but I would just like some additional information so I am sure I know what I am doing here.

May 7, 2012Blackberry and Microsoft mobile platforms offer this. Clearly Apple isn't losing sales because of not offering a Snooze for the native calendar, but it is an extreme nuisance to not implement what seems as such a simple feature.
I can't see Apple ignoring what many business users would find useful for no reason. Is it a patent issue? I don't understand how it would be if both Microsoft and RIM have this feature...

IPhone :: Showing Only Everyday Option On Calendar?
Apr 22, 2012I have things on my calendar and in my reminded thatI want to be repeated only 3 days of the week but the only option to put so it will repeat is everyday. For example: I have events that only occur on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday but the only option I have to have to choose from to have the phone remind me or show it on my calendar as time not available is Daily, then it goes to monthly, etc. So when I set up a reminder or put something I want to show on my calendar I have to choose Daily so now it shows on everyday that my time is occupied for that event and it reminds me to which drives me crazy. You literally have to go to each day it's not suppose to be on and delete it in both the reminder and calendar.phone show that I am busy when I am not or it pops and makes a sound up when I am in the middle of things that are really not going on at those times of day and there are so many that I can not sit on my phone take it off the days I don't need it because that could be a year or more I would have to go thru to change. Is there an upgrade coming out for that soon to have it give us that option ro choose what says we want?

IPhone :: When Get Calendar Invites There Is No Option To Accept Them
May 29, 2012I have this issue on both my iPad and iPhone. When i get a calendar invite in my inbox (for example an exhange invite *.ics) there is no option to accept the invitation. I can open the event in mail, and view teh details, but there is no way to accept it. The invite also does not show up as an "invitation" in my calendar, althought it does show up in the actual calendar as an event that has not been accepted.

Jun 14, 2010A couple of issues I found after upgrading to 2.1.1.1:
1) Tools->Options->Device sync: I cannot check Calendar and tasks. There isn't even such a chekbox. However If I go down to the "Calendar and tasks" option I can set date range for sync, and MS Outlook. but I can't turn the sync on. If I go to Sync->Sync status it show that my cal is never synced. In PC Suite this was possible, but not anymore.
2) I want the suite to sit silent in the system tray and sync silently. Not pop up and be obtrusive during my web meetings. In PC Suite, this was possible to do, but not anymore.

IPhone :: 3G Silent Switch Won't Stay Silent
Jun 11, 2010A few months ago on my 3G, I tried switching my silent switch over and it wouldn't stay silent. The switch does go fully to the left side, but it doesn't do the typical vibrate and show the silent graphic on the phone. BUT if I ever so slightly nudge it to the left it does go to silent but there is no way to keep it in place.
It is almost as if there is something in the way or maybe there is a short?My warranty is no longer valid, but the phone is in perfect condition, has been cased. It makes no sense.
Anybody have any advice, because I would like to sell the phone soon but obviously do not want to sell it without the silent working. I guess I could go to a cell phone repair shop but they charge a $30 diagnosis fee and then apply that to the repair. I do not want to get screwed.Anybody have ANY advice or experience with the switch conking out on them. Any home remedies?

I CAN go into older appt's and edit and the multiple reminders are still there and the green plus to add more is there and selectible. I am assuming it has something to do with the google calendar so what is up?

So it seems you can press the volume key and by clicking the 'bell' icon I can scroll through 3 different modes: Loud, Vibrate and Silent.

Seems simple enough, only none of these modes silence apps or games at all.

I just want to put my phone on silence/vibrate and know that even apps and games will be silent too.

I thought I could put into vibrate mode and slide the media volume down to zero and it would rememeber it... then putting back into loud mode would make media slider go back to normal volume?... Nope, I have to change it back to loud mode and remember to slide the media volume back to normal...

Sep 23, 2010I currently have the Blackberry 9700. I would like to see an option added under the calendar feature. With this phone you can have more them one calendar, which is great. You can set your default calendar; however when you go to add a new entry you can select one of the other calendars. The feature I would like to see is having the option to move an entry from one calendar to another. As it stands now, if I enter an appointment on one calendar, but need to switch it to another calendare, I have to make a new entry and select the other calendar. What I would like to see is when you open the entry to make changes (ie: time, date, location, etc.), you have to the option to move the appointment to a different calendar. So maybe in the next software upgrade an application can be written for this calendar feature.

Jun 3, 2014I recently traveled overseas and had all my calendar items show on my iPhone as in the new locations time (ie, they moved X hours so wrong, but consistent). So the Appointments stayed in my home time zone, they just showed in the equivalent time period on the iPhone calendar.Â
When I returned home, my Calendar on my MacBook reverted to normal (ie, all appointments went to the correct, original time) but the iOS Calendar has somehow locked into the other time zone that I visited for a week or so. How can I get all the appointments on my iPhone to show correctly without changing or losing any of them.
