I have a bb torch and when I set my cell to "Silent" or just "Phone Calls Only" from Select a Profile and I still hear my text, email & facebook alerts.
How can I fix this, so I just hear the phone ringing?
Ok so i bought a BB 9630 Tour couple days ago. and i have a question.so i set my girlfriend as a specific ringtone. but i usually use silent when i am at home, and one day she called me and guess what, the phone rang.so here is the question, how do you make the contact ring when it is in like when my normal is activated BUT NOT MY SILENT. cuz when i do silent and when she calls me and my phone rings... it doesnt really make sense cuz i put it as in silent.
A few months ago on my 3G, I tried switching my silent switch over and it wouldn't stay silent. The switch does go fully to the left side, but it doesn't do the typical vibrate and show the silent graphic on the phone. BUT if I ever so slightly nudge it to the left it does go to silent but there is no way to keep it in place.
It is almost as if there is something in the way or maybe there is a short? My warranty is no longer valid, but the phone is in perfect condition, has been cased. It makes no sense.
Anybody have any advice, because I would like to sell the phone soon but obviously do not want to sell it without the silent working. I guess I could go to a cell phone repair shop but they charge a $30 diagnosis fee and then apply that to the repair. I do not want to get screwed.Anybody have ANY advice or experience with the switch conking out on them. Any home remedies?
Ok, so I'm trying to work out how the silent modes work on my Z3. I'm failing. Â So it seems you can press the volume key and by clicking the 'bell' icon I can scroll through 3 different modes: Loud, Vibrate and Silent. Â Seems simple enough, only none of these modes silence apps or games at all. Â I just want to put my phone on silence/vibrate and know that even apps and games will be silent too. Â I thought I could put into vibrate mode and slide the media volume down to zero and it would rememeber it... then putting back into loud mode would make media slider go back to normal volume?... Nope, I have to change it back to loud mode and remember to slide the media volume back to normal...
I set my iPhone 4s on silent every day for work. In the last few days any text messages and phone calls have been playing out loud. I've only had the phone two months. It also randomly vibrates for no apparent reason sometimes repeatedly.
It was 5 weeks old and developed a screen issue, went back to repair centre, came back fixed.....All good.....Well no.Now, when the silent icon on the drop down curtain says silent, its not, when you select to change this from the long press of the power on/off button (It gives you a turn device off option, deactivate/activate data, Airplane mode and Silent off and on)The turn on silent mode actually does the opposite?
I need to know how to put the Blackberry Torch into silent mode. I have selected silent mode, however, when I call the phone, it still rings. How do I set it to silent mode?
My phone rings but when I answer the call the phone is silent. I cannot hear the person calling and they cannot hear me. The phone working properly and then suddenly stopped. The speaker works for music and the mic works to record. All the alerts for messages still work.
Today my phone started reading my emails out loud as they arrived. I don't think I changed any settings, but I can't make it stop! I have tried pulling my battery and it still happens when it's set to silent.
My iphone 3GS will not go on silent mode. Everytime i slide the button, it stays on loud, however it still vibrates. Does it sound like a technical fault?
i have had my iphone 4s for about a month.in the last coupla days it has started giving me notifications without sounds, not "clicking" when i type, not playing the sound in Internet (not even showing a volume slider.pic attacehed at the bottom),it is not switched to silent, and i can still flick it to silent which still shows the "silent" symbol on screen, and in turn the "unmuted" symbol when i switch back.i also cannot change affect the volume with the side buttons.if i got to "settings" / "sounds", i can hear the ringtone when i adjust the "ringers and alerts" slider, so i know the internal speak is working, but doesn't affect my problem when i go back to the home screen.still totall silence upon incoming calls/texts/emails.i really don't expect this to be happening to a brand new phone, especially one that cost me £200.00 in-store with my renewed 2 year contract.
I have an E52 here with latest firmware, version 034.001. Pressing and holding the # key to switch between general and silent mode does not work. Instead, it does show a second # and, after a while, asks if one wants to change the phone line. Pressing and holding the * key does indeed activate bluetooth.
my phone is in Vibration profile and there's an incoming call, which I prefer not to attend to and simply SILENT the vibration.. How do I accomplish this?
I cant get any sound from my Lumia 800! Music, videas and ringtones are all silent. The ringer is on loud but still no sound is coming through. Last time this happened I reset it and it worked but its done it again. I cant keep resetting my phone as I lose all my downloads.
My phone has gone completely silent, it does not ring for an incoming call it just vibrates, silent mode is not on, I do not get any sound alerts at all for any messages. I have done a factory reset and it is still the same.
So on my M8 the only option I can find is silent. But when I have that selected it doesn't vibrate when I get texts. How do I set it so that notifications only give a vibration?
I just got a HTC One. When I plug it into my laptop to charge, it does silent. The profile is normal and I've picked a nice loud ringtone to make sure I hear it (Dare from the Transformers 1986 Soundtrack).
I'm no more than a few feet from it and no matter how loud I set the ringer, it just won't let me know when a call is coming through besides a tiny little vibration.
How do you set it so that it's as loud charging off the laptop as it is when it;s in your pocket?
How can I silence the ringer on my iPhone4 when I have a call and don't want to answer it? The only thing my phone will let me do is "slide to answer", and there is no option showing to no answer when I get call. How can I delete all the messages in my inbox on my iPhone 4?
My iphone got wet in my pocket today and now is permanently stuck on silent. The sound is still working when I check ringtones in settings so that's not damaged and everything else seems to be working....
Phone worked Ok for a month...yesterday the ringtones died..I can make and receive calls, and the vibrator works, but the ringtones are silent...when I scroll thru the available ringtones, they are all silent...just the vibrators work
I cannot find anything in the instruction book that explains how to switch off "Silent" (it is shown beside the battery meter) or what it means (apart from the obvious meaning of the word). If you switch off "Silent" what happens (or doesn't happen)?
I have an E72 and love it. Just a question, I regularly sync my calender using the Nokia PC Suite and it works well. I silenced a reminder using the "silent" button and now some reminders are silent. The phone's display flashes but no audible alert. I've checked the profile and it defiantly has a setting enabled for an audible reminder. Any ideas? The alarms are perfect.
For no apparent reason, my E63 started displaying "Silent" in small letters in the upper right corner of the screen. I did not change any of the tones. I cannot find anywhere what this notification refers to. The phone is excellent, but the user's manual leaves much to be desired for completeness. I'm a bit worried that something may be silent that I do not want to be. Could someone let me know what this notification refers to?
Just got a new E75 and when I get an incoming phone call, the phone rings briefly, then goes silent. The caller continues to hear the ring until voice mail picks up. It happens whether I use a blue-toothed mpeg file or one of Nokia's pre-loaded ring tones. Service provider where we purchased the phone cannot find the problem.
