Phone worked Ok for a month...yesterday the ringtones died..I can make and receive calls, and the vibrator works, but the ringtones are silent...when I scroll thru the available ringtones, they are all silent...just the vibrators work

Ok so i bought a BB 9630 Tour couple days ago. and i have a question.so i set my girlfriend as a specific ringtone. but i usually use silent when i am at home, and one day she called me and guess what, the phone rang.so here is the question, how do you make the contact ring when it is in like when my normal is activated BUT NOT MY SILENT. cuz when i do silent and when she calls me and my phone rings... it doesnt really make sense cuz i put it as in silent.
View 5 Replies View RelatedA few months ago on my 3G, I tried switching my silent switch over and it wouldn't stay silent. The switch does go fully to the left side, but it doesn't do the typical vibrate and show the silent graphic on the phone. BUT if I ever so slightly nudge it to the left it does go to silent but there is no way to keep it in place.
It is almost as if there is something in the way or maybe there is a short?My warranty is no longer valid, but the phone is in perfect condition, has been cased. It makes no sense.
Anybody have any advice, because I would like to sell the phone soon but obviously do not want to sell it without the silent working. I guess I could go to a cell phone repair shop but they charge a $30 diagnosis fee and then apply that to the repair. I do not want to get screwed.Anybody have ANY advice or experience with the switch conking out on them. Any home remedies?
Ok, so I'm trying to work out how the silent modes work on my Z3. I'm failing.

So it seems you can press the volume key and by clicking the 'bell' icon I can scroll through 3 different modes: Loud, Vibrate and Silent.

Seems simple enough, only none of these modes silence apps or games at all.

I just want to put my phone on silence/vibrate and know that even apps and games will be silent too.

I thought I could put into vibrate mode and slide the media volume down to zero and it would rememeber it... then putting back into loud mode would make media slider go back to normal volume?... Nope, I have to change it back to loud mode and remember to slide the media volume back to normal...
I set my iPhone 4s on silent every day for work. In the last few days any text messages and phone calls have been playing out loud. I've only had the phone two months. It also randomly vibrates for no apparent reason sometimes repeatedly.

Sure enough my wife calls again; strangely I can hear her but she can't hear me and hangs up. Assuming that there was a problem with her signal I call her back to she if things cleared up. Initially I thought it was a speaker issue however all other notification sounds work (email, Facebook, etc).
I have cleared the cache (which takes forever) and factory reset.
I have restored to having it vibrate always and having moto assist tell me "you have a new text message from A to read say read" or "A is calling you to answer say answer" etc. Which is not ideal in most settings.
I have tried setting it on every ring level, nothing. I have played with every setting, nothing.
Now I'm missing countless calls.
I am noticing that every time I put my phone on a silent mode and then come back from it there is no more sound notification. If I power cycle my phone all is good.
View 3 Replies View RelatedYesterday I upgraded my Defy to Froyo 2.2.2 (from the Moto website). Everything is great except my phone beeps everytime I get an email. I have gone into email settings and changed it to silent, but it still plays the ringtone. If I change the ringtone for email notification, it changes and plays the one I select, except if I change it to silent, it plays the "Bells" ringtone, which I think is the default. I have tried turning the phone off and on, but it still rings. I am using the stock email app with 2 pop accounts and a Yahoo account, and it plays the ringtone for all of them.

As far as I can tell, the only choices are for the notifications to vibrate all of the time or not at all. Even with Vibrate set to "only when silent," e-mails still vibrate when the ringer is turned up. Basically, I'd like everything (phone, e-mail, texts) to vibrate when in silent/vibrate mode, and to not vibrate when the ringer's turned up. Verizon XT1254 Moto Droid Turbo, android version 5.1.About once a week I notice that my phone is on silent ringer, I might catch a call because I feel the vibe, or see a missed call. I check where the ring volume is and the slider is all the way to the left on silent. Pushing the vol up hardware key does nothing, touch and slide the slider and it will snap back to silent as soon as you lift your finger. I do have moto assist set to silence the phone from 11pm to 730am, but this problem seems to happen during the day, not just stuck from the nightly mute and the moto assist notification is not up on the screen. If I require the phone to ring at night, there is no problem just moving the slider and moto assist does not interfere.
I have checked through settings, tried multiple ways to raise the volume but nothing works. The only fix is to turn off the phone and then back on again. BTW, what happened to the quick menu that was under the lock button with a long hold that would allow volume changes, vibe on or off, airplane mode and restart? My Gzone has all that under a long press of the lock button.
Since I updated last week, my phone has been randomly switching itself to a loud profile on its own.

I also have a work Smart Action setup which sets it to vibrate (just in the case I had turned on the ringer at some time). It seems that when these Smart Actions turn off (which the work one tends to do even when I'm at my desk at work, but that's a location issue talked about elsewhere) they tend to turn the ringer on to full volume even if I had it set to vibrate only beforehand.

I set it to Custom battery saver, set the Off-peak hours to start at 10pm and end at 5 am.My alarm goes off at 5:30 am but it never rings, even though I have it set in the alarm setting to do so.
