My phone has gone completely silent, it does not ring for an incoming call it just vibrates, silent mode is not on, I do not get any sound alerts at all for any messages. I have done a factory reset and it is still the same.

I recently purchased a Zylo handset from the Orange Shop. It worked fine until yesterday but now the ear speaker is totally silent on both incoming and outgoing calls. I have checked the loud speaker, which is fine as is the microphone. There appears to be no other issue with the handset at all. Is there some sort of option I have accidentally turned on?

However, i didn't back up files as phone was new so didn't have anything on it and didn't think was necessary but now non of the phone works.

After that I left the phone face down on my desk waiting for an important call. After about an hour I picked up the phone and to my shock saw that I had 20 missed calls!!!! It apparently silenced all those calls although it was still in general mode.

This is really embarassing during meetings, etc. This was the problem in original android. Then I upgraded android to 4 ICS. After the upgrade, it was more stable for some time, but now the problem has started again. Does anyone else have this problem?

[Is it a bug or a fix?]But, the previous mentioned is a bug. Shutter should not make a sound when the phone is on silent mode or vibrate mode.

View 5 Replies View RelatedA few months ago on my 3G, I tried switching my silent switch over and it wouldn't stay silent. The switch does go fully to the left side, but it doesn't do the typical vibrate and show the silent graphic on the phone. BUT if I ever so slightly nudge it to the left it does go to silent but there is no way to keep it in place.
It is almost as if there is something in the way or maybe there is a short?My warranty is no longer valid, but the phone is in perfect condition, has been cased. It makes no sense.
Anybody have any advice, because I would like to sell the phone soon but obviously do not want to sell it without the silent working. I guess I could go to a cell phone repair shop but they charge a $30 diagnosis fee and then apply that to the repair. Ok, so I'm trying to work out how the silent modes work on my Z3. I'm failing.
So it seems you can press the volume key and by clicking the 'bell' icon I can scroll through 3 different modes: Loud, Vibrate and Silent.
Seems simple enough, only none of these modes silence apps or games at all.
I just want to put my phone on silence/vibrate and know that even apps and games will be silent too.
I thought I could put into vibrate mode and slide the media volume down to zero and it would rememeber it... then putting back into loud mode would make media slider go back to normal volume?... Nope, I have to change it back to loud mode and remember to slide the media volume back to normal...
I set my iPhone 4s on silent every day for work. In the last few days any text messages and phone calls have been playing out loud. I've only had the phone two months. It also randomly vibrates for no apparent reason sometimes repeatedly.

It was 5 weeks old and developed a screen issue, went back to repair centre, came back fixed.....All good.....Well no.Now, when the silent icon on the drop down curtain says silent, its not, when you select to change this from the long press of the power on/off button (It gives you a turn device off option, deactivate/activate data, Airplane mode and Silent off and on)The turn on silent mode actually does the opposite?

I get no beep on the phone when I plug in the USB cable (tried on 3 different PCs) and I get no prompt asking what mode I want to use, i.e. PC Suite Mode, Mass Storage etc.The phone does not appear under "Devices and Printers" in Windows 7, nor does it appear under "Device Manager".So there is zero connectivity between the phone and the computer.
I've ordered a new micro USB cable from ebay to see if it helps, but the one I am using now doesn't look damaged in any way.
I've been loving the Lumia 800 since I got it bar a few problems getting it turn on, but this one takes the cake. Last night I was using my phone before I went to sleep and the battery died so I put it to one side. This morning I go to charge the phone and I'm getting very very little response from the phone. Once I plug the charger in the phone vibrates twice, although the second time it appears to be getting 'cut off.' At no point is anything visible on the screen.
Tried to use the laptop and I get the USB connection sound from my PC, however it then plays the 'removed USB device' sound and there's no indication the phone's connected.
The only technique that gets any kind of response is the 'soft reset', holding the power button and bottom volume button for 10 seconds which gets my carrier's logo up on screen before it quickly dies.
As this is my only phone I'm getting rather stressed about this. I really do need my phone in the week. Would you guys suggest I take it to one of my carrier's shop or try and go through Nokia themselves?
So dissapointed because it's my favourite phone I've ever owned, and now it's useless and causing me a lot of undue stress.

The Phone Restarted And When Software Updates Came I Ticked Symbian Anna . One Update Gor Installed. While Second Update Was Installing Suddenly The Phone Got Hanged. Now It Isn;t Working.
