How do I silence alerts and alarms while talking on the phone? It's rather bothersome (and sometimes uncomfortable) for an alert or alarm to go off right in the ear while talking on the phone.
You know those pesky barriers at the entrance to stores that beep when you try to steal DVD's etc? Well normally my iPhone will pass through all peaceful like a small mouse sleeping in the hay on a desserted barn somewhere in deepest Idaho or Somerset. But today I got a text message and it was displayed on my screen unread, I passed through the barrier of my local Tesco store and all hell broke loose.
The big black security guard went after me, frightened me and caused me to run screaming through the car park, everyone saw me and it was very embarrassing being led back into the store, everyone thought I was either Al Quada or Al Capone. But the culprit twas my phone being in the state of unviewed text message.Anyone else have this disturbing encounter?...maybe try it for sh*ts and giggles...have your running shoes on though.
Whenever I'm on a phone call if I get an incoming call my phone will not stop ringing until I stop my phone conversation and actually manually decline the call. Is there a way to make secondary incoming calls always silent so you just get the regular beep in your ear when you get a second call and not a loud ring?
My doubt is the next, I turn on the vibrate on alarms and it doesn't vibrate and if I turn off it doesn't vibrate, well, I works correctly when I turn off but when I turn on it doesn't make this correct work.
I want to silence all alerts (texts, emails, etc) except for phone calls and the alarm like I could with my blackberry. My new iPhone 5c is a huge upgrade from the BB other than the lack of Sound Profiles.Â
I've read a post about plugging the headphones in so that the other alerts play through them, but the phone and alarm still sound out, but this does not appeal to me as I don't typically use earbuds. Matter of fact, the ones that came with the phone are still in the box.Â
I have used Mute-O-Matic since I got my Verizon One. . It worked fine until the 4.4.2 upgrade. . Now it doesn't silence texts or various alarms (like NWS warnings). I have read a good bit about changes in the way Android deals with sound volumes, but I am more confused now than ever. app that silences everything based on calendar entries?
I just got an X6 and was wondering if someone can answer the questions?I've tried settings memo's and meetings with alarms, however if the phone is switched off they don't alert me when I turn it on. Is there something I can change to do this? When I get a new message and the phone is locked the menu button light flashes. Is there a way to make the screen flash when a message comes in (even just once)? Can I get rid of the 'Add' icon on the front as it's in the middle of my other contacts?
Does the vivaz support silencing of calls by using the accelerometer sensor(ie by shaking or turning the phone) or do i have to install a software for that?
My iPhone 6 Plus is less than a 2 weeks old but since day one its speaker sounds distorted.  The ringer or alerts or even the new email alert have a popping or clangy sound to them. Is this a software issue or hardware? My phone is uptodate and Ive tried hard reboots to try to alleviate the problem but it didn't fix the problem. Should I try to restore it?Â
Samsung Galaxy S5 - Is there a way to send a call to voicemail--and thereby also silence the ring--without letting the caller know that I've chosen not to answer? (i.e. on their end, it goes to VM after a "normal" number of rings...)
Typically, my phone is set to vibrate when I turn it off at night. I have noticed that it will vibrate when messages are received even when the phone is turned off.
When my phone is dark, in sleep mode after a timeout, I am not receiving any alerts/sounds when I receive an email. The LED light doesn't even light up. I receive alerts for Text Msgs & other "messaging" type apps, just not email. Immediately upon waking up the phone & authenticating, I get the Alert sound & the email msg pops up. This was an intermittent issue prior to the 5.1.1 update (which I had hoped would fix), but NOW it happens every time & is thus worse than before the update. I have tried several email APPS - and they all behave this way. Currently I have K9 Email installed. (I have WiFi enabled & Smart Wifi Search enabled).
I have a G920F and I noticed that the call alerts menu is missing. I looked under Sounds and Notifications menu and in the phone app. After a google search I learned that many are having the same issue. So now I cannot set the minute beep or the vibrate when pickup, hangup notification and all the rest. Is there any way I can get them back?
OK when i go to set my alarm on my IPhone 5 why cant i just click one of the alarms to edit it? their is already an on/off switch for the alarm do i really need to hit edit at the top right corner of the screen.
I'd like to be able to have the snooze function off by default when creating alarms using the Clock app (particularly for alarms created via Siri, but also for manually set alarms), but there seems to be no way to do this. Do you have to create the alarm first and then edit it to set the snooze facility off?
For some reason, about every other day, my bb completely stops alerting. It is set to ring, but stops ringing for phone, email, bbm, gtalk, sms everything. A battery pull seems to solve the problem temporarily, but it is getting irritating. Any ideas? Oh, and I am back on a curve, gave up my storm.
Every single member of our family was awakened at 2 am last night when their phones were beeping about a system update. ALL of our phones were in "Do Not Disturb" mode with the only exclusion list being a couple family members' phone numbers. There is no option to block system update alerts in the middle of the night. There is no slider to select/deselect that. It seems like this would be a pretty basic option.
I am trying to set an alarm with no sound, but with vibration. My particular alarm sound is set to "none," and the vibrators are ON in Settings / Sounds for both "silent"and tone sounds. With these settings, neither my wife's iPhone 4 or my 4s will vibrate when the alarm goes off silently.
As the title says, I have my s2 set to 'never' vibrate. Why then does my phone vibrate VERY strongly when I get ebay alerts? It doesn't vibrate for any other notifications.Has anyone got any ideas as to what I can do to stop thisy phone crashed about a month ago and I've had problems with it ever since.
I've seen numerous posts about daylight savings affecting the time on the iphone, but haven't seen any responses to this particular question yet. Since daylight savings went into effect last weekend, my reminders are going off an hour early, even though the time on my iphone shows the current, proper time. My phone says it is 8:00 AM (CST). However, an alarm that I set for 8am went off at 7am this morning.
I've switched off - completely - both taskiller apps (which were shown to ignore the alarms) and still nothing. I got up at 11.45 because of that today, and very soon I'll be relying on alarms very much, and can't have this madness! I tried a market alarm too and no change.
I noticed that if I have 2 alarms and I change the alarm sound then this will affect all alarms! How can I set different alarm sounds for different alarms?
In going to my clock and clicking the menu button on my phone then 'set alarm' I get no activity to set my alarms and currently stuck with it being on a 6:05 alarm that i cannot turn off. way to access the alarm settings?
