Just wondering, how do you become a developer for apple to be able to get the beta's for releases of iOS's and stuff?Do I have to program an app? What do they get besides sneak peaks in what's to come?

View 5 Replies View RelatedBefore the official release of iOS 5.1 I installed a developer version (eventhough I'm not a developer). The developer version expired. Now I can't update my iPhone 4S to the official version of iOS 5.1.

I have an iPhone 3GS running 3.1.3. I want to install a developer profile to enable tethering (AT&T) without jailbreaking. How can I do this? I tried installing the developer profile (while running 3.1.3) and it installed, but it didn't work. Is there a hardware restriction as well?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that when I restart my phone some of my developer options will get reset to default. I haven't fully troubleshooted which ones get reset but specifically: "Wi-Fi verbose logging", "Allow Wi-Fi roaming scans", and "Limit background processes" all get reset to default after a restart. Other settings like: "Include bug reports in power menu", "Use NuPlayer" stay the same after I restart.

I recently upgraded to the G3 (from an iPhone) and had a lot of trouble with call quality on the first phone so I switched to the S5. Long story short, I'm back to the G3 and am having some trouble with the new phone. The colors on the screen looked somewhat washed out and the camera isn't nearly as fast as the first phone - seems to take 3-5 seconds between shots to be able to take a photo (with just the 3 dots visible) or for the shutter button to reappear. It's the same whether HDR is on or off and if I swap down to 10mp I notice a lot of grain.
Colors looked washed out, faces had a blue tone and pictures were blurry. I did a soft reset and I also unmounted and remounted the SD card - no change. Finally, I noticed a Developer Options menu. After digging around on the internet, I thought this is a hidden menu that has to be unlocked? I decided to do a factory reset; the developer options menu disappeared, photos look much better although some pictures are still blurred and the screen looks much warmer. I have the Black G3 on Sprint and my Sprint Zone keeps saying there is an update but when I click on it, it pops up a message that says, "Update cancelled."
I got my N9 yesterday and couldn't quite find info on how to install the Opera web browser, so i decided to enable "developer mode" in settings. That didn't help, so i decided to reboot the phone. When starting it up again, it now asks me for a security code. A code which i don't recall setting, and can't find any info on the internet about.
Note: I have previously set my PIN-code to 0000 and then disabled the pin code check, so it's NOT the pin code that's the problem. Also tried to insert my PUK-code, but that didn't help either.
Is there a way to set the developer option - background process limit permanently.i wish to set it to max 4 processes but after reboot, it goes back to standard limit

Any app in general. Just really slow to load up. It's also laggy sometimes.
WP is a really efficient system, so there must be a software-related fix, as the hardware is still good. She is running WP 8.1 Developer Preview. She doesn't have a ton of apps, and she closes her apps after using them. I know she doesn't have a lot of space left of storage, around 1.2 GB, but it's something.

Now this is speaking from a DEVELOPER point of view. Would you like to see iPhone exclusivity stop? To me, yes, obviously, because this means the App Store can be in more hands, and my apps can have a MUCH larger audience. Yes I know there is a lot of market share already, but look at VZW, T-Mob etc and if we got their eyes on our apps. you should be able to fill in the rest. What do you think from a developer point of view?

I have Windows 7 installed and have seriously tried everything to fix this, deleting old back ups, cheacking my firewall, unintalling and reinstalling itunes, deleting pictures that may be corrupt. Pre-authorization does not guarantee iPhone availability at an Apple Retail Store. iPhone is sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Your reservation is valid for pick-up only at the Apple Retail Store that you selected. If you do not collect your selected item on the specified date, your reservation will be cancelled and the item will be returned to stock.
My dilema is it's going to take me 2+ hours and lots of expense to get to the store on the 24th, the last thing I want to do is turn up at lunch time (about when i'd finally arrive) to find out they've sold mine / sold out.
