IPhone :: Facebook Mobile Developer :: Android Is Sloppy
Aug 30, 2010
Facebook mobile developer: Android is 'sloppy'.'The more I work with Android the more it reminds me of Windows'".The developer for the Facebook application on the iPhone has criticised Android and given reasons why the official app is poorer for Google phones.
Although recently getting a decent upgrade, the Facebook for Android application has always been the poorer cousin to the iPhone version, and Joe Hewitt, who helped created the Apple option, says it's down to the tools offered."The more I work with Android the more it reminds me of Windows… as in, it's really flexible, agnostic, and developer-friendly, but also really sloppily designed," he said on Twitter.
will it be possible to install android os instead of symbian s60 5th edition, if so how? it has got more apps and the apps provided in ovi store are not in good number as well.
I just updated my mobile phone via WLAN. After that it said I changed my SIM card. Which is not true. Switched it off and on: I type in my SIM Card password and it wants another password. And I have absolutely no clue which one.I use the AVG Anti-Theft-Protection. But this doesnt seem to be the required password. I tried it. I also tried to remove the SIM card and put it back. The problem still remains. So I can only use the emergency mode. Heres a picture of what the start-screen looks like now: In the middle of the first picture it just says "Connected to PC" - But my PC cannot find the mobile since it's only on the emergency mode.Second picture just says "Please type in password".
I just update my Sony Xperia Z3 to lollipop 5.0.2. After update I cannot detect my mobile data But there is no problem connecting with WiFi. I really need to use Internet
Before the official release of iOS 5.1 I installed a developer version (eventhough I'm not a developer). The developer version expired. Now I can't update my iPhone 4S to the official version of iOS 5.1.
whenever i post anything from mobile. on facebook i see that only "sent via mobile" . i want to see tht "sent via sony erricson xperia mini pro" . how to do tht ?
I have an iPhone 3GS running 3.1.3. I want to install a developer profile to enable tethering (AT&T) without jailbreaking. How can I do this? I tried installing the developer profile (while running 3.1.3) and it installed, but it didn't work. Is there a hardware restriction as well?
This one's just a quick note for all you jailbreakers out there – the developer of popular Backgrounder add-on ProSwitcher, which gives you a webOS-eqsue multitasking interface for your jailbroken iOS device, has just announced via his Twitter that he would be updating the app to support iOS 4 later this week.
He initially announced shortly after Apple released iOS 4 in June that ProSwitcher would not be updated to support iOS 4 since Apple implemented their own multitasking interface in the OS.So, this one's for all of you who don't like iOS 4′s fast app switcher/multitasking implementation!
i can't sign in to Facebook using the android application. it's same with my gmail too. also i can't download from the android market because it tell me 'there is no phone linked to this account'.
I have x10 mini. The latest facebook app, 1.8.1 or whatever, I just cant get it to work properly, Often, or almost everytime, just says "loading" on an almost empty page. But the page does not load most of the times, and when it does, pics etc are missing. Just works very slow.
I have even re-installed my phone just now, but its still the same. The funny thing is that when this last facebook update was released a month ago? or so, it worked very fast and nice. Now for the past 2 weeks its almost unusable. Both on mobile internet and trough WiFi. How can this be?I have a decent internet on the phone and other webpages loads normaly.
I recently upgraded to Android 2.1 and now I find that I cannot link my contacts to Facebook. The ones that I had linked prior to the upgrade are still there, but no options to link on existing or new contacts. The fact that the FB contact profile pics would be updated on my contact list was one of the reasons I bothered with the upgrade.
Bought 5800 which had mobile Facebook on the handset already. Added this as a homepage shortcut. Downloaded the OVI Facebook but didn't like it so removed it. A few months later I attemptedto download OVI Facebook App again but was advised I had to delete the Facebook install files from my handset.
Did this but have also accidentally deleted the mobile Facebook original App that was on the handset when purchased! Tried to re-download this from mobile Facebook site - but just get a blank screen? how to reinstall the original mobile Facebook App?
When I'm browsing on facebook mobile I quite often get the error "Error encountered during XML parse: An attribute value may not contain '<'.".. I know quite a few other people get this, is there a solution or someway to minimise when this happens? I am running 5.0.0.411
I’m using HTC One M9+, and using mobile internet connection. If I’m using Wi-Fi connection there is no problem with google chrome & Facebook. but only when im using mobile internet, in the google chrome said err_timed_out & Facebook can't refresh to latest news. I have no problem with other apps in my phone. only google chrome & Facebook.
for about 3 months my phone has been able to upload any picture on facebook and now whenever i try to upload a picture from my bb it'll allow me to pick it and it will upload but the whole bb freezes and the white screen comes on and says "app error: reset?" and i don't have an option but to click reset. i hate having to reset my blackberry over and over and i've even done a master reset where all my contacts pictures apps EVERYTHING got deleted in attempts to fix the problem but it won't work.
I have blackberry curve 8900 OS5 and Facebook latest version 3.2.0.12, and when I am log in to facebook with blackberry via wifi I don't have in chat that mobile icon like all my other friends who are using facebook mobile too, only green dot like when you are connected with PC. Can it be because i don't have bis/bes account?
i have removed all unwanted notifications from my facebook mobile app but they are all still in my messages folder on my handset and i cannot delete any of them.
I recently purchased a Nokia 5230 Nuron through T-mobile. I love using it for Facebook with the included app however I've noticed that there isn't an option to upload a picture with my status update. Is there a way to do this with this model phone?
All my friends who are using mobile phones (iphone) are visible through facebook website and i can speak to them from my PC. But why i cant see those friends online, when i use my phone (Lumia 610)? I only see friends who are using PC. When i try manually to find a friend from people hub and i know that he is online from mobile, the message says that this friend i not connected and urge me to send him SMS.
Recently got my hands on a unlocked 9630 from a Sprint buddy. Everything works browser, txt, MMS, calls, even my weather app. Just every time I try to log into Facebook, it tells me "Could not connect because a data service is not available. Please try again later. If this continues, contact your service provider for support".I came from a Tmo BB Curve so the service was already there. I re-registered on the BB network, resent the service books from the web and from my phone, did hard re-starts, went online to My Tmobile and updated the IMEI. I uninstalled the app from the phone, performed a hard reset, then reinstalled the app from the Blackberry App Store.
I like having the Facebook integration throughout the Lumia 950 xl, except for the birthdays in my calendar which, with hundreds of Facebook birthdays, clutters up my calendar. It looks like the interaction is only on or off for the phone without any individual settings, any way to keep the Outlook calendar from including Facebook birthdays without having to delete them individually or shutting off the Facebook integration entirely?
