Mar 29, 2012ive noticed on my iphone 4s it now has a circular arrow in the top left of my conacts list like a refresh symbol but it does nothing. does anyone know what its for? i swear it wasnt there yesterday.also how do you get rid of duplicate contacts or contacts you no longer need? i know we can merge contacts but there seems to be tons of names and numbers i have put into categories for work contacts and since using icloud when one person rings i have three different names for them that pops up.

Mar 26, 2012i charged my iphone overnight and it is turned off. i noticed for the past few days that the plug symbol when an iphone is fully charged never appears. the iphone seems to be still charging. but when i turn on my phone it says that it is 100% charged. why wouldnt the charging symbol change into the full plug symbol when fully charged?

Apr 8, 2012I have somehow lost the icon for "contacts". My contacts are still there, I can find them by searching but don't have an icon on my home page (or anywhere else) to click on to add new contacts or find old ones. Can anyone advise what I've done? I've tried synching with my laptop but that hasn't brought the icon back, and I've powered off. I backed up to the cloud earlier but am a bit bothered about trying a full restore! Besides, the contacts icon was missing when I last backed up, so it probably wouldn't come back anyway!

They are saved in my documents folder although when I try to open the file I receive an error message saying I don't have an app to open file. Nov 7, 2011Every so often on my N8, I get a call from "someone". All I see is the phone number, with no indication of who it's from. Then I find out it's from someone who should have already been listed in my contacts.
Is there any way to search through contacts by phone number? At least that way I'd know who the call was from, before calling back.
Also, is there anything to do (or not to do) that will minimize this problem? I have multiple phone numbers and email addresses for several people, but I didn't think that would create an issue.

The work around is to start up MAPS, find an address and then in the MAP app, select navigation. Is this how it is suppose to work? If not, is there a fix?

Jul 8, 2010A month ago my 8310 Curve, v. 4.5.0.55 (Platform 2.7.0.68) service provider O2, stopped being able to search and find Contacts unless I had added them after that date. These newer Contacts have not been folded into the original Address Book, but are all in a new and alphabetised list at the end of the original Contacts list. There are no Categories assigned, no Network sync, and Content is not protected. The Contacts are in the phone, not on the SIM.
Before this, I could type in to the Address Book or the phone the first 2-3 letters of someone's name and it would take me to that contact - now it says there's no such person. So I have to scroll through the entire address book to get to who I want, and then I can call/SMS etc.

Mar 16, 2015All I did was modify my contacts settings to display contacts according to "custom settings" (instead of displaying contacts from ALL ACCOUNTS) and random contacts seemed to be ignored by the keypad lookup. When I would switch to the "Contacts" tab of the dialer and type out the name/ keyword, the same contact I was searching for WOULD be found. I even changed back to "All contacts" in the select contacts to display settings, but that didn't work.
An example of what I'm experiencing: when searching for a restaurant called "Second Grill", I would type in Grill using the keypad, and 6 other restaurants with Grill in their name popped up, but not Second Grill. When I typed in "Grill" in the contacts tab, "Second Grill" did show up as expected. Before changing the contacts settings at all, I know the lookup for Second Grill worked because I used it regularly.
I next went to Settings --> Applications --> Application manager and found 3 different "Phone" apps and cleared the cache of each one. Still didn't work. I did not try "Clear Data" for each one, as I was warned this would delete the application files (that didn't sound like what I wanted to do).
