Nokia Navigation :: While Navigation Compas Does Not Orientate
Dec 12, 2011Maps 3.08 does not let me calibrate my compass (at least not by ticking once or twice at the compass). By consequence, while navigating it does not orientate the display with the top in the forward direction. I found a workaround by using a separate compass application, calibrate the compass there, and then Maps works perfect. There must be a easier way to calibrate the compass from within the Maps application.

Aug 6, 2010Navigation used to work fine on my X6, but since having to do a hard reset of the phone (due to other problems!) I cannot use the Navigation.
Everytime I get the error 'navigation cannot start at this location' and it doesn't seem like the phone can ever pick up my location.I have tried un-installing and re-installing the application but to no-avail!I haven't even wasted my time calling Nokia Support, as they are totally useless!

Aug 22, 2012getting very frustrated with this now. I have given my dad my N95 to help him get around but just cant get the map navigation to work. I downloaded the Nokia Map Loader (I had to go to a third party website as the Nokia links were all broken) and have the map/voices but when my dad tries to use the navigation it tells him he has to pay.Obviously, I know that Nokia have now made these services free to complete with other company's devices, I'm just being stupid and not going to the right place to download them. Jun 22, 2010I have missed the 24th preorder date and I was wondering if by any chance even 1 in million manage to get on hold of a payg iphone 4 (uk) from a carrier like orange, 3 etc. Is there a difference having an officially unlocked iphone from apple vs an ultrasn0w etc. unlock device?? (other than any ethical/moral issues ). Any specific stuff that I will not be able to perform with such an unlock?, any downsides like slowdowns (if it’s a 24/7 background running service etc) ?
I know that O2 official unlock iphones for $15, but I haven’t found any certain info on the other carriers. (note: the phone will not be used to UK at all, so some proposed actions from carriers like: “use the phone for 3 months with the carrier and then ask for an unlock” will not work in my case.)

Jun 25, 2014This past week, my phone "fell" and the screen broke beyond all repair. And I'm not talking about a crack...I'm talking about a huge crack as well blue lines being displayed whenever I hit the home button. Other than that, the phone still works. It charges, it syncs, it vibrates when I get calls or messages but I can't see anything on the screen. I know that I can still unlock though. I managed to backup my pictures directly onto my Mac using iPhoto. Besides my pictures and Calendar dates, there wasn't much that I cared for within the actual phone.Â
I went to my local phone service provider place and they told me that since my phone was a 4S and was covered for damage, I could send it to Apple in exchange for a new phone. I already contacted them and received my new 5C. Now, I'm not really worried about the pictures because they're already in my computer; I'm worried about all the Calendar dates that are in my broken 4S. Yes, I did do a backup AFTER it fell so I have a backup ready. But the thing is that I do not wish to sync this onto my new 5C just for the calendar dates. Â
I have an old iPod 4th Generation that I'm willing to use to restore with the backup of my 4S but I don't know how to do that. I was hoping that I could apply the backup of my 4S onto my iPod and then manually enter all the dates that I needed onto my 5C.

Mar 22, 2012I started off with a droid 2 before I got my iphone 4. The droid 2 gps was phenomenal, I had no problems with it. Then I got an iphone which I assumed was going to be just as good if not better than the droid's gps. Boy was I wrong! The "Maps" app that came with the iphone did not re-route itself EVER when I was in a big city and I ened up getting lost.
So one of my friends downloaded the "Waze" app, which is ok. I mean it does work it's still not the greatest. My issue with that one is that it doesn't say "take next right exit 172B" it just says, "turn right here."
