I placed my sim card in the slot and still says "Searching..." took out my sim card still says "Searching...." Restored multiple times, Resetted the Phone multiple times and still "Searching..."

May 9, 2012Bluetooth does not work. Under settings the bluetooth indicator says "off." When I click on bluetooth though, it goes to the bluetooth page with the wheel automatically spinning without prompting me to turn it on or off. It does not say searching for any devices, however the wheel at the top beside bluetooth still spins. Both bluetooth headsets I have used before with the iphone work with all other phones in the house. This problem started about a week ago and I have had my phone for almost a year, never had this problem before. I have tried a hard reset, restoring to factory settings, reseting all settings, switching to airplane mode, but nothing seems to work as it still does the same thing. I am running iOS 5.1.

Jul 29, 2011My GPS used to work flawlessly however the past couple of days it's just not been getting a lock. Has anyone else had this problem? I tried fasterfix but it's still doing it. My position looks accurate enough on Google Maps but if I go into navigation it just says "Searching for GPS". I just moved to Vodafone and also just installed the latest Lite'ning rom, not sure if these would affect it.

Jun 6, 2012A few weeks back I noticed that the call and music volume on my Bluetooth headset (Jawbone ICON) seemed to stuck at half-volume or less, despite appearing in the volume settins to be at full. This makes the Bluetooth unusable for phone conversations except in the quietest of rooms.
I have reset the ICON on numerous occasions -- blew the pairing off the Bionic (and did a hard reset) but to no avail. Nothing seems to bring the volume back up to the way it was.

Feb 8, 2012If I press the headset button, a black screen pops up with the text "initializing" (except in Italian because that's the language I use), and nothing else happens. The voice command interface does not appear and it doesn't work at all. Tried clearing data and doing other basic things but the problem keeps happening. Jun 6, 2012Sometimes - not always - when I connect my phone to any Bluetooth audio device the Bluetooth volume (by design I believe) drops to half volume. When I hit the Volume Up button the bar will move up in a weird, sporatic way and never actually get louder, however it will eventually show full volume. Sometimes when I hit the Volume Down button it'll shoot all the way back down to half volume with one button press and I can then press Volume Up again to actually turn up the sound. Most other times it will shoot down to the bottom and never change volume until it's completely muted - so it'll jump from 50% volume to silent right at the end.
It doesn't happen every time - just about once every 10 or so times. This has happened to me with two different RAZR Maxx phones and I've seen my roommates RAZR do the same thing on a couple different Bluetooth devices.
I'm hoping the ICS update will fix it but the bug made it through the last OTA update.

Aug 9, 2010I have had an original iPhone and an iPhone 3gs. Now I have an iPhone 4. I drive a Corolla with bluetooth in the steering wheel. When I am listening to music with the phone plugged in via the AUX jack, it used to automatically switch to the car speaker and the car mic. Now with the new phone, whenever I listen to music and answer the phone, the car speaker picks it up, but the phone mic remains. On top of that, the people I talk to say there is an echo, so I'm thinking its maybe the noise canceling mic on the phone? I took the phone to the Apple store and the guy pretty much blew me off and made a minimal effort.

The mic works OK in apps like Skype, etc. I tried the cardboard trick and it worked for one call and then it stopped working again. I then decided to buy a bluetooth headset and work around the iPhone 4's faulty, but to my surprise that isn't working either. Even with the Bluetooth headset I can hear the other people but they can't hear me. Is there any way to get this working?

Mar 31, 2012I just installed a Sony XNV-770BT in dash Nav/Receiver with bluetooth capability in my vehicle. Both my wife and I have the iPhone 4S with AT&T. The caller id name/number will show up on the iphone, but will not pass through to the Sony unit, until after you answer the call. (This of course defeats the whole purpose of caller id!) Before you answer the call it says "Withheld", which is the Sony term for blocked, I guess.
It seems that there are quite a few issues with various iphones not passing the caller id info through to bluetooth devices, but I have not been able to find a solution to my specific problem. I called Sony and they offered to send me a new unit after I remove the one I just installed and return it to them, because they said the caller id feature is supposed to work with the iphone 4s. But this is a lot of trouble to go through only to find out the new unit acts the same way and it is really an iphone issue. The caller id pass through does not work with either mine or my wife's phone - I did the recent iOS 5.1 update and my wife has not. Here are the bluetooth profiles that the Sony unit supports:
