Is there an application or way to lock an Iphone to edge and then switch to 3g as needed? On my Windows Mobile phones I can run an application called Bandswitch which lets me select whether I want a 2g or 3g connection. Since the Iphone doesn't have stellar battery life to begin with, such an application would really help me conserve my power usage.
View 5 RepliesI am currently living in the caribbean and using my old unlocked T-mobile Curve 8320 with a local provider SIM card. I am looking to change to a different provider because they offer EDGE (yes, over here we are lucky to even get EDGE networks). I was told by the sales rep that in order for my Blackberry to connect to EDGE network that I must have OS version 4.6. I believe the 8320 cannot go past 4.5 unless I am mistaken. This phone was connected to EDGE when I was in the States with T-mobile. I am not even sure why the OS version would have any effect on it anyhow. Could someone shed some light on this and tell me whether it sounds factual? I will eventually get a new phone but, in the meantime this one works fine if I can just get EDGE on it for faster browsing,internet radio,

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 100% 3G signal covering in my area. But my new Iphone 4S everytime tries to switch it to Edge. When I re-slide 3G toggle in setting it helps for 3 to 10 to turn back 3G signal. My previous Android phone didn't have this issue.

- I've already tried the suggested fixes that I could find on the forums of changing the unlocking animation and whatnot but the problem persists no matter what when reverting back to a password/pattern lock/fingerprint lockscreen.
- This is not a brightness issue.
When using any lockscreen other than swipe to unlock, my lockscreen seems to have a grey filter overlayed on top of it. It's super noticeable when using a black wallpaper. The AMOLED display should not be visible in the dark (as if it's off) but the screen is noticeably lit as if it were an LCD display. When using images as my lockscreen wallpaper they are not as vivid as when viewing the image in the gallery or even as my wallpaper on the homescreen.
The problem has gone on and off when dealing with the night clock with updates. sometimes the 'black' screen will be lit up and defeat the purpose of the nightclock and kill the battery, and sometimes the screen is pitch black and just the time is displayed dimly as it should be. Wondering if i should take it into the sprint store to see if a replacement would remedy this.
The on-off switch/ lock button of iPhone 4s has become inactive over the past week. Whenever I press down on it, there is no satisfying click, it is simply idol. It wobbles loosely but however hard I do click on it it will not move! I only got it for Christmas 2011 so its not even old, and within the 6 months of my possesion it has not once been dropped or misused!

I like my e73 that i got a part of t-mobile upgrade with full price option. i like the fact that it quickly connected to the web etc usnig WiFi inside my house - i had some hiccups connecting at other places and checking my gmail using WAP. but a bigger problem, when i head out of my house - my e73 phone goes from wifi (pink hotspot tmobile circle) to 3g - i live in dallas fort worth metro area. i see many bars (horizontal lines stacked) to show a good 3g reception. after i have crossed the street corner, my cell phone is not able to go through the contacts book to call someone. as soon as i reboot the cell ph, it is all normal. making contacts, other folders run on memory card memory, did not fix it. i have hte latest patches - all got thro wifi.

How I can switch from 3G to EDGE on my Nokia 6220 classic? I find that 3G tends to drain my battery a lot when I use apps such as whatsapp and I'd have to recharge my phone three times a day which is inconvenient for my occupation.

And under lock screen type it says fingerprint. Yet every time I lock the screen and hit the home button it says swipe to unlock. Even tho I go back to settings and under lock screen it says fingerprints. What step am I missing?
