I can't call using my iphone 4s after update to iOS 5.1. However I can call TO my iphone 4s. But it doesn't call to any number. My iphone is factory unlocked. I tried to restore it using itunes, also I turned it off but it's still doesn't call.

My iPhone 4S running iOS 5.1 does something strange and very annoying when I get a missed call. When my iPhone receives a missed call, it shows a screen that asks you to accept that you received a missed call and then it takes you to a "missed call menu" from which you can do things like "call back in 5" "send "who is it" " etc.What happens is that instead of doing this, my phone goes haywire and starts flickering the screen and acting unresponsive to what I do. It's very annoying as each time I have to do a hard reset.

it doesn't always ring when I get a call. Yes, Airplane mode is off, the ringer is on. Take yesterday for instance, over a period of 5 hours, four calls didn't ring, 3 went to VoiceMail, one showed as a missed call, three other calls came through normally. The main screen does not show a call coming in, it never shows a received or missed call so there is no phone number so i cant block it. If i shut down the phone down and turn it back on before bed it seems to work and doesn't ring. I cant shut the phone off or put it on vibrate because i have an elderly mother who lives down stairs so i need to hear the phone ring if she needs me for something. I thought maybe i should reset or restore the phone but was hoping there was an easy solution.

Finally the ICS update has become available for my phone (SI 1253-7151) -PC Companion pops up a message about the new update. If I click "Update", PC Companion starts downloading the update, finishes the download and says "Preparing computer for program updates".
Then it proceeds to "Unable to install or start components for update of phone system" and my phone does not get updated.Then I have tried Sony Update Service, but now I can't even start it properly; the program crashes right after opening it. It just says "Synchronizing" and then "An unexpected error has occured. The application will shut down." so I never get any possibility to see why.Again, my phone does not get updated. Since both programs crash there must be a serious problem with the downloaded files (and they're probably shared between the programs?).Apparently I'm not the only one experiencing it; I can see in a Norwegian forum that other people have the same problem - and in the original thread that you have hidden (!).
PS. The original thread was not mine; I just replied to it since I had the exact same problem. Today I updated my Iphone 4 to 5.1.1, now it just goes to start screen (showing me the apple logo) then it goes black and it restarts to do the same.
If I take it off the power charge cable nothing happens, even if I press the two buttons together.
The phone has full batter power, it is only after this 5.1.1. update that something has happend.

Now the weird thing is that sometimes the person I send to actually does recieve the imessage, and then I'll still see the delivery failure notification and below it "read at ....". I also use messages beta for os X, and this stopped working altogether.

View 4 Replies View RelatedEver since I installed the iOS 5.1 update on my iPhone 4, the home button does not work at all! I've tried every trouble shooting solution I could find. I've Restarted, I can't hard reset because the home button doesn't work, I've restored from back up, I've restored as new, I've vacuumed out and gently used a tooth brush in the port below the home button in attempt to remove any dust. I've tried opening a factory installed app such as Maps, Safari, Stocks etc and held the top button until the "Slide to power off" showed and then held down the home button until it went to home screen except it didn't go to the home screen at all the "slide to power off" disappeared after a while. I have extremely intermittent response with the Home Button. If i press it continuously it will work after 27 presses one time or 9 presses another but never when I try to do a hard reset and 9.999 times out of 10 it doesn't work.

Just wondering why the X10 mini pro doesn't have the end call button at the top like the X10 Maxi (power button) ? The lack of having this feature is absurd. The easiest and most logical way to end a call is to press the top lock screen/power button. I recommended this phone to someone and they got a massive shock when they realised they had an active call going for over 8 hours! add this feature in your next update, if not could you at least have a visual clue to let the user know that they have an active call when the screen is off, eg notification light blinking purple or something.
View 4 Replies View RelatedA couple of times when I called my voice mail and listened to my messages, I would press end call to end the call and nothing would happen. Well actually, the phone would be, but it wouldn't end the call. Eventually, the voice mail system gave me the boot.
In addition, I had a couple other calls from friends and when they hung up, I pressed end call. Again nothing happened. Eventually the phone ended the call.
I tried calling my voice mail just now and the end call button seemed to work.
