i'm not trying to diss Apple even further as i am too a bit peeved that my iPhone suffers from the drop in 3G reception when holding the phone in the exact way i have holded every phone including my first Motorolla. You have to partially hold the bottom left even if it's just with your pinky finger under the bottom, to stop it slipping out of your hand. Why they just didnt include this areial at the top, who knows!?
Anyhow i noticed whilst doing speed tests and then looking for some wallpapers using safari (maybe 20mins continues use, max!) that the right hand side at the bottom, just bellow where the sim tray is seems to be getting very hot. Is this close to where the A4 chip is situated? I noticed to the touch with my finger it getting warm and also (how scientific this was) i rested the metal above my top lip to see how warm it was (as this area is more sensative) and clearly found that this small area was much hotter than everywhere else on the phone. Leaving it a further 5 mins on standby it seems to have decipited all the heat and is same temp all round again.
My only concern at this early stage is, what if i was using the internet for a longer period of time? Can anyone else confirm that this also does it on their iPhone 4's just to make sure it's not just mine. As i am wanting to fully test my iPhone before i go on holiday in a weeks time.
I noticed that my iPhone has the Phillips screws on the bottom, but the gallery on Apple.com's website shows Torx (star-shaped) screws. Anyone else notice that their screws are different?
we can swipe from the top to get into the notification center, why don't we swipe from the bottom to get into the background?if you do that, you can also add a cabbage can in the background and users can drag the icons to the cabbage can to turn the application off.
Staying away from WinterBoard since my phone feels overall much better without it. I currently use Five Row Springboard for 5 Icons across in one row. Is there any solution to have 5 going down (excluding the dock) sans WB? Had this when I had WB and loved it! I used it in conjunction with BossPapers No Icon Labeling. I would even get rid of the labels sans BossPaper if there was a quick way too! I can SSH in if it's a necessity, as long as it's a quick thing. Don't wan't to modify code too heavily.
So, i just got my iphone 4 like 15 minutes ago. I am syncing it now, but just noticed a yellow tint on a line on the bottom.I know some people said it went away and was just because of the screen 'curing'. Did yours go away?
I have had an iphone 3G since Dec-2008 - obviously out of warranty now.Today, the bottom 20% of the screen or so went dead - it won't respond to touches, taps, slides, etc. The rest of the screen responds fine, but this portion is completely out of it.This is particularly problematic b/c it is all of the bar where my 4 favorite icons sit (SMS, Email, Web and Ipod). I did some googling and found the apple Article TS1827, but it didn't say what could be the cause, how to fix it, etc.
1) Any ideas what could be wrong?
2) I have a genius appointment later today, but what are the chances Apple actually fixes or replaces it?
3) What is the best suggestion as to how to fix it if i need to - places to go, or DIYs? Located in NYC.
I lost all 4 bottom icons; phone, safari, messages, ipod. Here is some background info, jailbreaked 3gs, 3.0.1. I was moving some icons around and trying to move it to another page. Then I look, all 4 of my icons on the bottom is gone. I tried turning it off then on. Doesnt work.
Accidentally dropped the phone and it has got some scratches on the bottom portion where the speaker is located. Is it possible to change the metal body over that place.
I recently updated from 3.1.3 to 4.0.1, I had blackra1n installed before and switched to jailbreakme.com.. Everything works fine except now I have a half inch space under my dock at the home screen, even my wallpaper is shrunken.
i was looking at apples web site and i saw the picture of the iphone with the star screws then i check mine and they weren't like that and it looks like one of the screws was overturned and it feels rough on the edges does anyone else have this problem?
My iphone 2g fell out of my pocket last night while I was washing hands into the wash bowl and although I wiped it dry immediately, there was some issue after a while. I didn't realise it could cause some issues. But when I received a call, the touch screen didn't function at all and I was unable to answer the call.
After spending sleepless night yesterday to fix this issue, nothing seemed to work. I rebooted, restarted, restored to factory setting, many times, nothing is working. This is a 2g phone with 3.1.2 firmware, jail broken with blackrain. But I still receive the call and the iphone is not completely dead yet. I was able to restore it back. But the "Slide to Unlock" is not functioning, In other words the bottom part of the touchscreen is not responding. But the upper part of the touch screen works, where I can power off.
I almost gave up. Any one having any suggestions. This is very frustrating. I put the iphone in a rice bag, hoping it will take away the moisture, but that didn't work either. I also tried using the hair dryer to remove the mositure, but no success either.
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A293 Safari/6531.22.7)Is there a shortcut for scrolling all the way down to the bottom of a website in the browser?
I have an iPhone 3Gs and after upgrading to iOS 5.1 the bottom row of the keypad/keyboard does not function properly. More specifically, when I press the ".?123" button the SHIFT key activates and when I press the "return" key the backspace button is activated instead. I also cannot press the "space" key. This only happens in portrait/vertical mode. It's normal in landscape/horizontal mode. This problem only occurs when the keyboard is active. All other touchscreen activity is normal. Again, this only started to happen after I upgraded to iOS 5.1. I have reset the network settings, reset the phone and hard reset the phone.
My iPhone 5s has just recently developed a yellow spot on the lower part of the display. It appears to be burn in but it wasn't there when I put it on the charger and now it is. I've tried re-booting, erase and restore but nothing seems to work. it's only present on light backgrounds not on dark ones. Even pitch black backgrounds have no trace of the yellow haze.
My iPhone 5 64GB screen bottom part is not sensitive, sometime I unable to make a slide to lock on or answer the call.how much for replacement/exchange unit?
Whenever I use the camera app or view snaps on snapchat the bottom of my 4S screen flickers and jumps.
When on the camera the top of the camera app which normally has flash settings, HDR mode and switch camera stays on the top and moves to the bottom and the screen flickers but it only happens on the rear facing camera when I change to Front Facing Camera it goes fine and then on snapchat when I view stories and snaps it does the same thing and on the camera.
I brought my iPhone 5s last month, i noticed that my phone have Gray/Black lines at the bottom of the screen, after using more and more the lines grow more and more. Now my Screen is half Covered with those lines.
I tried Resetting my Phone and Restarting it and it still doesn't fix it.
Does anyone know the path and file to something in openSSH that I can change to fix this? Deleted winterboard which did nothing. Every lockscreen wallpaper is like this now.
I have the iphone 3GS and I accidentally put the voice control on last night and now when I go into the settings page it wont let me scroll down to the bottom of the page.
