View 8 Replies View RelatedSince it is important to backup SHSH blobs for future JB, may I know how to verify if the extracted SHSH blobs would work? I used AutoSHSH. I just want to be safe.
View 6 Replies View RelatedFirst the boring backstory:
It's been so long since I have played with an iPhone as i have lost some interest in it. But now my father who owned a 3gs, which I had jailbroken when it still had 3.1.2 but the 3.1.3 was the official OS out at the moment, has bought the iphone 4. He is giving his 3gs to my sister now who wants a clean install of it.
My nooby question:
She does not care for the 4.0 iOS, so I will not need to give her that. I also know that the 3.1.2 was an awesome version for the 3gs that it did not need to be a tethered jailbreak. So, how do I go about restoring the 3gs with the 3.1.3 SHSH on file since its the only one I can do? And how is the jailbreak for it when I do restore it to 3.1.3?
Is there a way to extract SHSH info from the phones backups I have saved in iTunes?could be barking up the wrong tree, just a thought.
View 7 Replies View RelatedYesterday, I picked up a new iPhone 4. I went to work, downloaded 4.0.1, downgraded the phone successfully, and jailbroke it. I hit the "Make it Easy" button and figured that when I got home I'd capture the SHSH files using Umbrella.By the time I got home, Apple had stopped signing 4.0.1 - I must have squeaked by just in time. Cydia still says, "Pending TSS request", but I think that means that Cydia didn't get it in time.Is there any possible way to get the blobs off of the PC at work? I know that itunes deleted them as soon as it was done with them, but has anyone ever recoverd them before? I hadn't done much with the PC the rest of the day, so there's a pretty good chance that they haven't been overwritten yet.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow come Apple and or AT&T doesn't let us save our contacts to our SIM cards? Back when I was with Nextel I could always save my contacts to the SIM and just switch different phones and everything was there.
What's up with this?
Yup, my iPhone took a 1 minute swim in our backyard pool after I forgot it was in my pocket. D'oh! This happened on June 21st, 2012After I realized it, my sister shouted 'Turn it off' which I tried. Bad idea. It was asleep, and in retrospect I should have left it that way. Here's how I recovered it:1) Placed it in a tupperware container, covered it in rice and closed the lid2) Left it for 24 hours.3) Put it on charger. At first, the home button would not work at all, but evertually came back after the first 24 hour 'rice bath'. The sleep button would not work at all, so I put it back in the rice for another 24 hours.4) Home and sleep buttons now work. The screen lights up, but looks awful - there are water stains all over the screen and texts are nearly impossible to read, except in really low light. At this point, bluetooth was broken, and the camera would not work at all.5) Figuring I had nothing to lose, and expecting that the heat from the phone would continue to dry it, I started to use it. After about a week, the water behind the screen magically disappeared. The camera and bluetooth were still completely busted. Now I attempted to power it off, but it just restarted instead of powering off completely.
The camera just started working again this morning. Bluetooth also works. The only thing that is still busted is powering off (push home and sleep buttons simultaneously). It will only restart if I push these buttons. Oh well, small price to pay for my stupidity
My iPhone is still in warranty, but as we all know water damage is excluded. I'm glad I saved myself $199 on a repair anyways. Hope this helps some other p-oor soul down the line.

Say you have an app (Facebook, for arguments sake) which has messages, cached pictures etc. Is that info stored in the actual app file (iTunes Media > Mobile Applications) or do you have to trigger an iTunes backup? For context, I don't have access to a backup to restore my phone from however I do have a file system backup of my applications folder. If I install these apps to my new phone will they be fresh installs or will they retain my old data?

I want to know if I can get back the photos I've just deleted. My iCloud sharing was active since the day I bought iPhone. It's been about 2 months. iCloud say that it keeps the saved 1000 photos for 30 days. So I guess I can reach them. I downloaded iCloud for PC but I can only see the photos already on my phone.

On the iPhone, is there a way to view stored wireless passwords?
A friend of mine forgets his wifi password and it would be far easier for me to look it up than for him to try and find the right menu in the router!
When I was there last I looked it up for him and added it to my phone to test it.

I'm unable to delete two entries on Safari's Saved Passwords (on Passwords and AutoFill) on my iPhone and iPad.Those two entries appear on both my iOS devices (iPhone 5 and iPad 3, both running the latest iOS available).
I've already set "Settings>Safari>Passwords and AutoFill>Names and Passwords (OFF)".Every time I delete them from my "Saved Passwords" list, they disappear only for instances. I exit and re-enter "Saved Passwords", and they're back on the list.
Both have the website just as "https://". These entries were not created by me...at least directly, since on of the emails has @t-com.de termination, which I've never used before.I already have my "Keychain" on iCloud turn off. Never did any jailbreak on any device, and now I'm starting to worry if this is a security issue of some kind.Â
