Yesterday, I picked up a new iPhone 4. I went to work, downloaded 4.0.1, downgraded the phone successfully, and jailbroke it. I hit the "Make it Easy" button and figured that when I got home I'd capture the SHSH files using Umbrella.By the time I got home, Apple had stopped signing 4.0.1 - I must have squeaked by just in time. Cydia still says, "Pending TSS request", but I think that means that Cydia didn't get it in time.Is there any possible way to get the blobs off of the PC at work? I know that itunes deleted them as soon as it was done with them, but has anyone ever recoverd them before? I hadn't done much with the PC the rest of the day, so there's a pretty good chance that they haven't been overwritten yet.
I have just gone onto the media section on my blackberry curve and for some reason all of the pictures taken before November have just been wiped off. Can anyone tell me the reason for this and if I can get them back, they are really important to me
I recently lost my SD card to my blackberry 9810 and am attempting to restore the files onto a new SD card to a computer. I had automatic backups set up from the Blackberry desktop manager and Blackberry protect. I was under the assumption that these backups also backed up information on the SD card. Unfortunatley, when I tried to restore my phone using a blackberry desktop no old files where restored to my new SD card.I have read an old post that says the automatic backups do not backup SD card documents but am unsure if that is still true.Is there anyway I could restore the files using the backups?
Since it is important to backup SHSH blobs for future JB, may I know how to verify if the extracted SHSH blobs would work? I used AutoSHSH. I just want to be safe.
First the boring backstory: It's been so long since I have played with an iPhone as i have lost some interest in it. But now my father who owned a 3gs, which I had jailbroken when it still had 3.1.2 but the 3.1.3 was the official OS out at the moment, has bought the iphone 4. He is giving his 3gs to my sister now who wants a clean install of it.
My nooby question: She does not care for the 4.0 iOS, so I will not need to give her that. I also know that the 3.1.2 was an awesome version for the 3gs that it did not need to be a tethered jailbreak. So, how do I go about restoring the 3gs with the 3.1.3 SHSH on file since its the only one I can do? And how is the jailbreak for it when I do restore it to 3.1.3?
I want to buy an iPhone 4 tomorrow from a store near where I live (it's not an authorized dealer the iPhone costs $1000 there). Although there is an authorized dealer nearby, the iPhone from there would cost $400 more. However, I am really willing to buy a factory-unlocked iPhone 4 instead of a software-unlocked one, and I am going to check out the unauthorized dealer tomorrow. I am afraid that the salesman would trick me into buying a software-unlocked one without my knowledge. The reason for which I want a factory-unlocked iPhone is so that I wouldn't have to jailbreak it each time I update it and risk getting it locked by mistake in case that there is no available software yet to unlock it. Therefore, I would like to know what are some features that would help me identify a factory-unlocked from a software-unlocked iPhone. For example, what is the default iPhone software that Apple releases with all iPhone 4's (if there is a default software version)? Would the Cydia icon be visible on a software-unlocked iPhone (I'm afraid that it would be hidden in some way)? Also, I would PLEASE like to know some more ways to identify the factory-unlocked from the software-unlocked iPhone without having to restore it.
so my iphone 2g cracked. I tried replacing the glass, but it just cracked a second layer of glass underneath it. I guess that was the touch screen glass? Anyway, they both ended up falling out. Now it just has this final "screen" like thing, which is just a white light. What is this? What parts would I need to repair the iphone, given what I have now?
I am trying to sell my iPhone 2G 3.1.3 and I did all the restore/jailbreak/unlocked on the same using redsn0w.I insert my sim (AT&T) in it, Sim gets identified immediately and works flawlessly. But when I insert other Sim (AT&T) of one of my buyer, it did not identify the sim kept saying "No Sim" on the left and "No SIM card installed" on the lock screen. This other Sim (AT&T) works flawlessly on other phones, including the iPhone 3gs and an old Nokia 6085, so the Sim doesn't really seem to have any issues.Feels like my iPhone 2g has been "Married" to my AT&T Sim and is not ready to divorce it.I spent many hours, doing all the "Settings Resets", restored/rejailbreaked/unlocked many times but situation remains the same. How do I fix this problem so that I could sell my 2g to someone? Please help, I really appreciate all the comments.
I recently had to do a restore on my iPhone 4S to factory settings and followed the instructions of the Apple customer service rep exactly, and selected the option to restore via iCloud backup. I have everything restored on my phone except my SMSs. This is devastating to me because I had conversations dating back quite some time, and information I need. I think it's odd that all other data was restored, except SMS. The last backup was about 20 minutes before the restore, and I have my settings set to automatically back up to iCloud.
siri is not identifying when I arrive home but foursquare does. I checked my address book address and also checked siri has location on. is there a check list of things to check before thinking that siri is just plain broken?
My iphone has stopped identifying modem firmware and IME number and has stopped identifying my SIM. It keeps on saying searching even if the SIM is inserted. Since I live in Nepal the authorized reseller said that it should be exchanged in the place where there is an apple store . And my 1 year warranty has also not finished. So what should i do now there is no apple store in my country.
I have an iphone 3GS using 5.1. I regularly sync/backup to my Macbook running 10.6.8. I probably do this once daily at least. The last sync/backup was this morning. Sometime this afternoon I lost all my contacts on my phone. It may have happened when I plugged my phone to my imac at work to recharge it (it is set not to sync, just to recharge, and I also do this regularly without any issues.) Recent and favorite phone numbers are there, along with texts and phone numbers for those, but only one contact was saved. This contact was added earlier this week. I tried to restore using the backup in itunes, but nothing came back. When I check for backups in the Devices tab of the Preferences, the only backup that shows up is the one where I tried to restore the contacts. I tried "Import SIM Contacts" through the Settings on the iphone, but nothing came back. I have also tried the trick with finding a message with a restored contact name (I have one) to "magically" get back all contacts and that does not work either. Everything else on the phone seems to be in place; just missing the contact names. Cannot find these backup files on my computer or on TimeMachine backups either.
I have reformated my computer , installed iTunes again, i connected my iPhone 4 to iTunes and synced my iphone. Because my iphone was having problems, i need to restore it to the original settings.
I connected my iPhone to iTunes, i hit the restore button, then after restore was done, i restored the backup that i have done, but i have lost all my songs, apps, videos, and tones that i have both from iTunes. Only the photos and contacts and settings ware restored. What can i do to restore my iphone with all my data?
Just bought the phone off a friend and need to upgrade the software. Have registered on itunes but need to pay for one time incident support to do this? Not fair!
I just restored my Iphone 4 from a backup from April. But before restoring from the back up I didn't upload the photos I had taken in between the time of the back up to now. Is there a way of retrieving these photos??
I had photo and videos in the "Photos" folder, did not back them up, did a restore, photos and videos are gone. Is there any way to recover the photos and videos from an iPhone 5c after a restore which were not backed up?
I was on vacation and used my iphone 5c as my video camera. I copied my videos onto my PC regularly to back them up how this was not my regular computer to do an itune back-up. I just checked my videos on my computer and several of the files would not open. They show up blank with no size (0 bytes), only date to the file, no other information. It's like the file didn't fully copy over, however, it removed itself from my phone. They are no longer on my phone either how I would cut them onto the computer so I would save space on my phone. Is there anyway to recover or restore these files.Â
Few days ago I updated my iPhone, I turned it off at night & when I turned it on at morning I discovered that all my contacts are gone, how can I restore them?
I lost my iphone 4s about 2 months ago. I went out and bought a new one but kept putting off syncing it with my computer. Today I finally connected it to my mac computer and it gave me the option to restore this new iphone to the one I had lost a few months ago. I didn't know much about the process so I restored it. But since I had waiting so long to sync this phone I had over 100 photos and many new contacts. The restore did gave my new iphone the same background and I've noticed some of the setting I used to have are back as well as all the old photos I had on my old phone. But it deleted all the photos I had taken on my phone over the two months between buying it and now finally syncing it and it also doesn't have any of the contacts I added between now and then. Is there any way to get those back?
