How come Apple and or AT&T doesn't let us save our contacts to our SIM cards? Back when I was with Nextel I could always save my contacts to the SIM and just switch different phones and everything was there.
Hi , I need to display only Sim contacts in phone contacts option rather than contacts that are saved in memory card. According to me knowledge there is a bug in these cell phone perhaps if you have any old nokia phone you may find this option.
I need to restore my phone and just synced it to keep a back-up of data. But I don't trust that all of my address book contacts will be saved. Will it?
This is random as I just started to encounter this problem.
At first when I would add a new contact it would save to my contacts list & being that I have my google account connected it would save it there as well.
I can't see add or see any of my contacts. I know they are there because the correct name shows up when I manually dial the number. When I try to add these contacts and numbers back into my contact list nothing happens. All of my filters are unchecked and I am showing all of my contact lists.
i just brought a new curve yesterday & the problem i face is that i get only those calls which are saved in my contacts. someone call it get rejected if that number is not in my address book
My old LG phone is damaged, so I can't install the Experia Transfer Software onto it, which is requied to move contacts directly from one phone to another.
However, I do have all my contacts backed up on my PC. But I cannot find a way of moving them onto the Z5.
I have downloaded the Sony PC Companion software, but can only see options for moving data from the Z5 onto my PC, not the other way around.
Basically none of my contacts are showing up on my contact list, they seemed to have all been deleted! Also I am not using any filters. As well as this, all my text messages have no contact names assigned to them, just their number. However in my call log, my contacts names come up... And when I click on view contact through the call log, the contact's details all come up! For example, one of my contacts, John, is saved on my call log and when I click on view contact through the call log, his address and number comes up, so it is saved. However when he calls, his name doesnt come up. So I'm assuming my contacts are saved on my phone somewhere, but they dont seem to come up on my contact list or text messages!! I recently added my gmail account to my Blackberry.

I eventually got my contacts from my old dumb Nokkia into the S5....they seem to appear as Google contacts.
Now...any incoming call...from any of my contacts...it says 'unknown'.
I have played with the app's Merge+ and Contacts+....nope....just will not show the contact name of incoming call. (Just want these contacts to reside IN my phone...just like they nice and simply did in my old Nokia).
In my new E72 i have contacts on my phone and sim but when one of my contacts call me it only shows the name as if it is a new number my phone dosent recognize, can someone please help me this issue
I was over at my sister's home. She decided to take a crack at guessing my blackberry password... 10 times. Ultimately she ended up clearing about 4 months worth of text messages, and contacts, the photos however remained unscathed.This lead me to wonder;
1. What is affected by a memory wipe.
2. Whether it's actually called a memory wipe, when someone enters your password wrong too many times.
3. Is there any way to get my contacts back?
4. Is there any way to get my saved texts back. Before I go on, I realize that this phone was and is designed specifically for business, I don't expect that there would be a way to get this information back, as that would defeat the purpose of a memory wipe in the first place.
5. How and where can I install the desktop manager? I've only been using my BB how it came out from the box because the CD included tends to freeze / crash my computer.
6. Why is it that the photos remain on the phone? 7. Before the memory wipe, my SIM card had enough space to hold tens of thousands of text messages, now after the wipe, and just another 10 - 20 texts, it constantly says "The SIM card is full." this is what got me HOPING, PRAYING, that somehow, my data was still in there somewhere.
Finally, thank you for taking the time to read through this, if you have an answer or a thought on any of the above, please feel free to post it. I need all the help I can get. (New to BB, New to forums, I might as well right "Lost" on my forehead and walk around this website.
which directory do contain "saved contacts on device" to check & copy them to PC.N.b: I did access contacts folder located on media card and device directories
When you sync your contacts to your PC using the Moto Phone Portal, does anyone know whereabouts that contact data is saved on your computer?I have recently switched to a new computer but have a backup of everything from the old one. I am just not sure on whereabouts the data was saved though to be able to put it back in the right place on my new pc so I can add the contacts back to my phone which is now upgraded from Eclair.
New member frustrated with paucity of help from user manual. Anyone familiar with the above message - occurs when I touch "contacts " on the screen. It may have resulted from copying contacts from sim to phone, ot vice versa, but cant recall.
I don't know why my Blackberry shows every incoming calls as 'unknown numbers' even they are in my address book. Any helps?I have tried to fix my 'smart dialing' but it just doesn't help.
I bought E7 about a month ago. Previosuly had N95 and LOVED IT but I needed to update. I am having problems with my contacts. All my contacts are saved by sim card. I thoght sim was problem but No. Even with replacement sim, I still get errors as described on subject line above. I am thinking about contacting Nokia and get a replacement. I want to add pictures and ring tones to my various contacts but it is not possible with these errors that I am receiving. I try to add a new contact and phone does not allow it by, once again, providing an error as mentioned above. Some times, phone says that memory is full but yet the phone indicates that there are 150 contact slots still available to be used.
My phone numbers saved on the device are missing in the contacts folder but the messages with those numbers are still in the messages folder withthenames and numbers properly written.how do I get the numbers back on the device? My phone is Nokia asha 200.
I have a sony erricson W395 and I have saved the contacts from my old SIM card onto my new phone memory, I put the new SIM card in and I cant find the contacts that are saved on the phone, the contacts list is empty. But if I type in my home number and ring it, it comes up with ringing home. Yet if the contact weren't saved on the phone it would come up with random number ringing and not saying calling home. How to transfer my contacts from my phone memory to my official contacts list/
Is it possible to transfer my saved messages from the "Saved Messages" folder to a memory sd card? Im thinking about upgrading my phone but have alot of saved important messages I dont want to loose.
Yup, my iPhone took a 1 minute swim in our backyard pool after I forgot it was in my pocket. D'oh! This happened on June 21st, 2012After I realized it, my sister shouted 'Turn it off' which I tried. Bad idea. It was asleep, and in retrospect I should have left it that way. Here's how I recovered it:1) Placed it in a tupperware container, covered it in rice and closed the lid2) Left it for 24 hours.3) Put it on charger. At first, the home button would not work at all, but evertually came back after the first 24 hour 'rice bath'. The sleep button would not work at all, so I put it back in the rice for another 24 hours.4) Home and sleep buttons now work. The screen lights up, but looks awful - there are water stains all over the screen and texts are nearly impossible to read, except in really low light. At this point, bluetooth was broken, and the camera would not work at all.5) Figuring I had nothing to lose, and expecting that the heat from the phone would continue to dry it, I started to use it. After about a week, the water behind the screen magically disappeared. The camera and bluetooth were still completely busted. Now I attempted to power it off, but it just restarted instead of powering off completely.
The camera just started working again this morning. Bluetooth also works. The only thing that is still busted is powering off (push home and sleep buttons simultaneously). It will only restart if I push these buttons. Oh well, small price to pay for my stupidity My iPhone is still in warranty, but as we all know water damage is excluded. I'm glad I saved myself $199 on a repair anyways. Hope this helps some other p-oor soul down the line.
