Dec 14, 2015Pretty much as the title says. In Marshmallow, I simply can't find how to disable a user app, I can only see how to disable system apps.

View 7 RepliesI am coming from a Note 3 rooted and running the final KitKat version of Biggins ROM. That ROM had something built in I assume to block all those annoying ads in the apps. Now on my Nexus 6P every app has those banner ads constantly running. I am rooted running PureNexus and wondered if there is any way to block those ads?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAndroid Marshmallow. I noticed that on my Moto X Pure (Style) before and also now on my Nexus 6P that whenever I charged it to 100% it won't say "Full" but instead "Charging on AC" still. On my Moto X before, the "Full" message will be displayed after 30 mins or so. However on my Nexus 6P now, it will take more than an hour for it to say "Full".
View 4 Replies View RelatedI got my 6p yesterday and used skipsofts nrk to unlock and root the 6p. All fine and i am still getting the beginning splash screen saying device corrupt. I was reading in the purenexus rom thread and it said to flash the mdb08m vendor img. When I rooted I was and still am on Mdb08l. Am I able to flash that vendor img on the L or do I need to go up to M? Also is there a link or something on how to flash a vendor img and also where I would find it?
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I understand this is a new feature in marsmallow, right? Your app data within reason being backed up into your google account. I'm considering whether to root the 6P to install Xposed, and obviously unlocking the bootloader will wipe everything out and to be fair life is too short to spend configuring all my apps again the way I like them.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI friend's Nexus 6P ran out of battery yesterday. Upon charging, the phone refused to start and it has gone into a bootloop (endless startup animation). I don't have the phone in hand yet (will get it tonight), but I had my friend get into the bootloader and try to flash the factory images using the included batch file. This did not work because he did not have the OEM unlock option enabled in developer options.
I had him try "Fast boot Format User data", which also didn't work as the phone is locked. Is there anything that can be done to fix it? Or a way to unlock without the OEM unlock option enabled?
I upgraded to Marshmallow over the weekend and the "close all" button is not included in Marshmallow. When I have a list of apps open I need to close them one by one. Is it not possible to close all open apps in one go?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've got TWRP installed, so OTAs won't install. Is there a way to disable the update notifications or is anyone making flashable zips for them?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know with my N5 I had constant problems with the "butt dial flashlight" and on of the reasons I got a N6 is that I wanted to eliminate that problem and indeed it was successful. Now with the 6P this morning I noticed my pocket was getting hot and I took the phone out and the flashlight was on..
View 3 Replies View Relatedhow can i disable the vibration of masseges or whatsapp or any notification while i'm in call?
View 4 Replies View RelatedOk so if your phone reboots or crashes, you will need to enter a password or pattern in order for the phone to work. Even alarms and everything won't work until you enter the password. That's pretty bad especially if you NEED an alarm
Some people mentioned turning it on and off and it would give you a prompt to disable it.
How to disable that annoying beeping sound when you change volume or when you hit max volume? it is unbelievably annoying.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know you can do this with smart pairing of Bluetooth devices but I was hoping to be able to do the same for when I'm playing music through my car's auxiliary jack / over the phone's speakers. I've done a fair bit of googling but haven't found a solution. I use llama app on my phone to trigger events and have tried setting a trigger using the music app to trigger the screen lock to disable but it doesn't work. I'm wondering if it's feasible to somehow trigger screen lock to be disabled when a music app is active?
View 6 Replies View RelatedCan I disable the cell signal automatically on the unrooted nexus 6P?
I know I can pop it in airplane mode and then turn back on bluetooth & wifi but I want to automate this process so that when I'm at work it will toggle the cell radio off.
I'm running a rooted 6P with TWRP and a custom kernel. Just got a notification for an OTA. Obviously, I can't run this update. How can I disable the update check? I have ROM Manager and know how to disable apps, but don't see any obvious update check system app.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to hide apps on the 6p? I've even looked for apps in the app store and can't seem to find anything.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible on the Nexus 6p to use the finger print scanner to unlock apps with the finger print scanner on the phone without using it to lock the phone and having to setup the PIN lock?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy previous phone was the Galaxy S6 and it allowed me to use my fingerprint to sign in to apps.
My nexus 6p doesn't. Is there a setting I need to enable to get this feature?
Since the latest Jan security patch, my apps will not update over wifi at home. It keeps saying downloading for ever. The moment I turn wifi off, apps download just fine on 4g.
Nexus 6p all stock and on Jan security patch. I have reset my router twice and still nothing.
Is there an app I can use to lock other apps with my fingerprint.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm referring to the multi view when hitting the square button. My S5 had a button to do this but don't see that on the 6p.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAm I crazy or does Marshmallow not have a way of clearing all the recently used apps that come up when you hit the square button? I realize 6.0 does a great job of managing power when many apps are open, but I'd just like to keep things a bit tidier when hitting that button so I can more easily switch between recently used apps.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently got my Nexus 6p and rooted it using Skip's Tools. Everything went smooth, I put Pure Nexus onto it. I notice I have 2 Google Contacts apps!
When I attempt to edit a contact it asks me to use "com.android.contacts" or "com.google.android.contacts".
I'm not editing any contacts until it's fixed.
I tried max lock and a few other password apps but none of the apps seems to support using imprint to lock whatsapp. Locking whatsapp? What to use?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am on stock rom, using SuperSU 2.66. I have tried using texdroider_dpi and one other app but they cannot change my dpi. It says it sets but then I reboot and I'm stuck on 560 dpi. I changed dpi in adb but some elements don't work such as my Swiftkey, the little blue diamonds for top devs in play store.
I assume this is a SuperSU issue but these DPI apps have worked since I first rooted this phone back in November. Only the current update has broken this.
For some reason I cannot change notification sounds in each of these apps. It just falls back to the system notifications sounds. Do I need to change app permissions to allow for this change?
OK, gmail seems to work. Now just hangouts not working.
I just upgraded from a Huawei Mate 7 and it had the option to protect individual apps via fingerprint. Is there any way to lock app with fingerprints on the nexus 6p. Like a app in google play. I know there are some aps for galaxy devices but I haven't seen anything that will work on the nexus?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI got my 6p last week and it's been running great until this afternoon. It got warm and the battery level drops by 70's at around 10am to low 30's at 4pm; during that time it was mostly on airplane mode with all sync/bluetooth/gps turned off.
When I checked the battery history it says that the GPS has been on for over 7 hours. I certainly did not turn on the gps myself (I turned off location), and I do NOT have smart lock.
Question: How can I determine which apps/processes turn on the GPS?
I also notice that "Miscellanenous" is responsible for 29% of the battery use.
Question: What the heck is that? How can I turn it off?

I've looked around but couldn't find anything. I've noticed that when I change my DPI in the build.prop the Google Search bar is gone from the top of the recent app list. I've changed my DPI on every device I've owned, and this is the first time I've noticed this issue.
I've also noticed that once in a while it does appear, but I don't exactly know what's triggering it, and it will disappear the next time I go to the recents menu.
I'm most comfortable at 500 right now. I've tried 520, 480, and 420 (what the N5X is at). Everyone of them seems to have this issue. I really can't stand keeping it at 560.
