I know with my N5 I had constant problems with the "butt dial flashlight" and on of the reasons I got a N6 is that I wanted to eliminate that problem and indeed it was successful. Now with the 6P this morning I noticed my pocket was getting hot and I took the phone out and the flashlight was on..

I never use Flashlight so how can I get rid of it or disable it from turning itself on?
I've got TWRP installed, so OTAs won't install. Is there a way to disable the update notifications or is anyone making flashable zips for them?

View 7 Replies View RelatedOk so if your phone reboots or crashes, you will need to enter a password or pattern in order for the phone to work. Even alarms and everything won't work until you enter the password. That's pretty bad especially if you NEED an alarm
Some people mentioned turning it on and off and it would give you a prompt to disable it.
How to disable that annoying beeping sound when you change volume or when you hit max volume? it is unbelievably annoying.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know you can do this with smart pairing of Bluetooth devices but I was hoping to be able to do the same for when I'm playing music through my car's auxiliary jack / over the phone's speakers. I've done a fair bit of googling but haven't found a solution. I use llama app on my phone to trigger events and have tried setting a trigger using the music app to trigger the screen lock to disable but it doesn't work. I'm wondering if it's feasible to somehow trigger screen lock to be disabled when a music app is active?

I'm running a rooted 6P with TWRP and a custom kernel. Just got a notification for an OTA. Obviously, I can't run this update. How can I disable the update check? I have ROM Manager and know how to disable apps, but don't see any obvious update check system app.

It refuses to set timers and it won't even turn on the flashlight. I have selected personal options in settings and I also have 5.1.1. I was hoping the update would fix the issue.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I've had the LMY78I build of 5.1 for a couple weeks now. Everything was awesome. Now, my flashlight shuts itself off at random when I'm using it, and I can't get it back without a reboot. Issue 2: my Google Play Music crashes, still. Well, not really a crash. More like its freezing. I open the app and half the time, the last song playing, that's supposed to be @ bottom of screen, is not there. So I have to go into Settings>Apps>Google Music Player, force stop it, then it works just fine again. One other thing I found very odd with my phone...not an issue, just an observation. A few days after installing the update OTA, my remaining ROM/drive space went from a lowly 2.4GB all the way up to 5.5GB free. Nothing was deleted At All. I mean, I cleared the cache for a few apps, but not 3GB worth!

Draft a txt and then send to multiple recipients without each recipient being able to see the other? Basically the same thing as sending an email to multiple people via BCC option.
Would be handy for business purposes. I don't care if they see my contact. I just don't want them to see eachothers contact since not everyone I'd send to would know the other (and/or want their contact information shared).
Obviously I could copy and paste the same message to multiple people via individual txt msgs... but being able to send a group txt would be way more efficient.
I got my Nexus 6P in australia yesterday and I was playing around with the settings. One of the things I wanted to enable was Now on Tap but everytime I try and enable it (either through holding the home button, or doing it through Settings), it won't enable! When I click Get Started, nothing happens. If i'm in the settings app, the toggle just turns off after I press Get Started.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am rooted on stock 6.0.1 with ElementalX kernel. I have Xposed installed, but I've tried disabling all modules. I've tried deleting the stock clock data and cache. There are no alarms set or off. I've checked the alarms.db file and there are no entries.
How do I get rid of the icon and lock screen info? I only have the Google Clock installed.
The only Google result says to do a battery pull on a different device. Can't really pull the battery on this phone, though.
I tried to install Cataclysm ROM, and then it went into some sort of installer, after that I tried to reboot, but TWRP said it didn't have any OS?? So i tried to boot it up anyway? but nothing, just stuck on Google Logo. After that I tried to boot into TRWP agian. But then TWRP says "Mount Decrypt Data" and then i have to enter a password?? but i removed my pattern lock before flashing.
Because i made a Nandroid and i read i had to remove the password before making a backup. But then i just press cancel. Then it says " Unmodified System Partition" "Swipe to Allow Modifications" and i do that. Now i have nothing on my SD card?? Then i thought i could flash stock through Fastboot/ADB, but now it won't see my device in ADB? I have updated my drivers, both by Google and Intel But nothing? so i cant return to stock and can't boot up.
Some how i got i to reboot by an ADB command and then i could flash factory image and return to stock.
I've noticed something since I got my phone and that is that certain notifications (Snapchat and Messenger are the main 2 for at the moment) will not make a sound unless my phone is either: Unlocked or locked with the screen turned on. Sometimes I won't get even get the notification until I actually unlock my phone which then all the notifications (sometimes 10+ messages in a facebook group) will pop up and vibrate my phone multiple times.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've been on the Pure Nexus rom for a while now and I wanted to try out the Screw'd Rom. So I downloaded and installed said rom. When It boots up and goes to the setup wizard I get no network data what so ever. I looked through the thread and it said to also flash the update vendor.zip. I did that hoping it would bring back my data but it didn't. So I decided to go back to the Pure Nexus rom, clean install, and again I have no network data. What I could do to get it back? I've tried messing with the APN settings but no dice. I should have made a back up before switching roms but unfortunately I forgot to do so.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been getting reboots semi randomly for the last week or two. Going back two weeks ago I was having some pretty poor battery life compared to some other users so I tried to do a full purge and restart. I went through the file manager on twrp and deleted any folder for any app that I wasn't using in a possibly misguided attempt to curb any file conflicts. After I did this I did a fresh install of cataclysm and Franco. After running into some reboots I tried with Kylo kernel and had the same issue. I then tried full wipe with Ubermallow and Kylo and had the same issue. Then I did a full lock, unlock, flash stock, root and recovery, and fresh install of chroma and Franco and it still reboots.
What I want to know is whether or not this could be a hardware issue and if not how to get this to stop. It's seems so random yet specific and it's happened on so many different installs. I have been rooting my phones since the OG Droid but I have never had an issue like this that lasts through so many installs of so many different things.
I have just come from a Note 4 and the one thing I miss is the teamviewer control via a PC (quicksupport addin for Samsung). All you get with the Nexus 6p is mirroring and not control currently. Any reliable remote control ie desktop controls the android phone?
View 2 Replies View RelatedOccasionally, when using the slow motion setting the video will record, play back in slow motion, but the fps will not be up to par - as in, it'll be set to 240 fps but will most definitely look choppier and not as smooth as I know it should be. A restart of the phone usually fixes this but there's no way to tell if it's not working until I record a video and play it back. Also, all the sample slo-mo videos online look so crisp and clear, while my videos tend to look pretty noisy, even with decent light.

I cannot hear any sound apps like youtube, music players.. Do Not Disturb is not on. I go into sound and notification and everything is turned on and all the way up. When changing a ringtone I can hear all the options.. But NO audio... I have factory wiped/data my phone.
