View 9 RepliesIs it possible on the Nexus 6p to use the finger print scanner to unlock apps with the finger print scanner on the phone without using it to lock the phone and having to setup the PIN lock?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded from a Huawei Mate 7 and it had the option to protect individual apps via fingerprint. Is there any way to lock app with fingerprints on the nexus 6p. Like a app in google play. I know there are some aps for galaxy devices but I haven't seen anything that will work on the nexus?
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy previous phone was the Galaxy S6 and it allowed me to use my fingerprint to sign in to apps.
My nexus 6p doesn't. Is there a setting I need to enable to get this feature?
I tried max lock and a few other password apps but none of the apps seems to support using imprint to lock whatsapp. Locking whatsapp? What to use?

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe N6P has got the same fingerprint sensor than the mate s. Is it possible to get the scrolling feature with the fingerprint sensor as a touchpad for photos and browser ... working? This would be very usefull especially when reading long text.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to assign a finger print to open an app? Is there a mod for this or is it in marshmallow somewhere? I want to have various fingerprints unlock into different apps. Or while my phone is unlocked using my middle finger to open Google. My ring finger to open camera, etc..

View 10 Replies View RelatedI really love openness of Android and I always prefer root access on my Nexus devices. But I have read at a few places that, if we root our nexus 6p, fingerprint scanners might not work. Is it true? Will there be a possible solution to make fingerprint sensor work even after rooting in future?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI haven't received mine yet, but probably one of the first things to do is unlock the bootloader. Does the fingerprint verification/ unlock still works with an unlocked bootloader.

View 3 Replies View Relatedits posible to create this in any rom???
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm enjoying using it to turn the screen on with a verified fingerprint, but find myself at times thinking that long pressing it will also turn it off. Seems like a neat feature, but before I think too much of it, is it something that can be done?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWith root/unlocking, the finger print sensor will be somehow disabled?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt sounds like a thump when you turn on a stereo and the speakers pop each time i unlock with the finger print reader.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe 2 things for me is the fingerprint scanner takes just a bit longer to where the extra delay is noticeable, and my battery is draining a lot quicker than before.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've read that some people like to install twrp, root, etc. and then re lock the bootloader. Is there any benefits to doing that? And is there a way to unlock/lock without wiping every time you unlock again?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a couple of questions about this.
1) With Ambient display enabled, the screen pops on when a notification comes through, or when I pick up the device. If Ambient display is disabled, the screen doesn't wake for either circumstance.
- The way I would like to have it, is where the screen only comes on when a notification comes through, and not when I move the phone. For me, it's a bit annoying most times. Is there a setting or another way to achieve this?
2) When Ambient display is enabled and I get the sound or vibration for a notification, it takes a few seconds (3-5) for the screen to come on.
- Is this normal? I'd prefer it to come on right after the notification sound/vibration.
I'm currently on build MDA89D, and have fingerprint/pin set for lock screen security.
I know this is not possible on the N6 and curious if you can on the 6P.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been looking for an app or xposed module but no luck. I've been out the Android game for awhile with the iPhone 6 but now I'm back. On the iPhone there is a tweak to allow you to have a guest mode button on the lock screen.
I find it to be more convenient when someone picks up my phone. They can enter guest mode without the back and forth handling.

Having issues with trusted places now working for smart lock? I have it set as my home as a trusted place, yet it still requires me to unlock it when I'm at home. I've deleted and re added home as a trusted place. Same thing.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI know you can do this with smart pairing of Bluetooth devices but I was hoping to be able to do the same for when I'm playing music through my car's auxiliary jack / over the phone's speakers. I've done a fair bit of googling but haven't found a solution. I use llama app on my phone to trigger events and have tried setting a trigger using the music app to trigger the screen lock to disable but it doesn't work. I'm wondering if it's feasible to somehow trigger screen lock to be disabled when a music app is active?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy new 6P arrived and my favourite feature is the Imprint sensor to turn on screen and simultaneously lock it. Having my phone be alive when i pick it up and screen off when I don't is a real feature - what I was wondering is could we use the Imprint sensor to get around the problem where you're browsing and your screen turns off due to display time out. If it were possible to have the imprint act as a "keep the screen on, I'm using it" button it would be fantastic.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSince the latest Jan security patch, my apps will not update over wifi at home. It keeps saying downloading for ever. The moment I turn wifi off, apps download just fine on 4g.
Nexus 6p all stock and on Jan security patch. I have reset my router twice and still nothing.
I'm referring to the multi view when hitting the square button. My S5 had a button to do this but don't see that on the 6p.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAm I crazy or does Marshmallow not have a way of clearing all the recently used apps that come up when you hit the square button? I realize 6.0 does a great job of managing power when many apps are open, but I'd just like to keep things a bit tidier when hitting that button so I can more easily switch between recently used apps.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently got my Nexus 6p and rooted it using Skip's Tools. Everything went smooth, I put Pure Nexus onto it. I notice I have 2 Google Contacts apps!
When I attempt to edit a contact it asks me to use "com.android.contacts" or "com.google.android.contacts".
I'm not editing any contacts until it's fixed.
Tried a few times to set this up using known locations. The phone recognizes its at the known location but i still cant unlock without having to use the fingerprint scan. It would be key if i didn't have to use the scan every time Im in a comfortable locale.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am on stock rom, using SuperSU 2.66. I have tried using texdroider_dpi and one other app but they cannot change my dpi. It says it sets but then I reboot and I'm stuck on 560 dpi. I changed dpi in adb but some elements don't work such as my Swiftkey, the little blue diamonds for top devs in play store.
I assume this is a SuperSU issue but these DPI apps have worked since I first rooted this phone back in November. Only the current update has broken this.
