Huawei Nexus 6P :: Guest Mode Button On Lock Screen
Jan 18, 2016
I've been looking for an app or xposed module but no luck. I've been out the Android game for awhile with the iPhone 6 but now I'm back. On the iPhone there is a tweak to allow you to have a guest mode button on the lock screen.
I find it to be more convenient when someone picks up my phone. They can enter guest mode without the back and forth handling.
So it doesn't look like you can actually delete the guest profile... yet it takes up a bit over 29 megs on my phone. If I go in there and just uninstall and delete everything I can, will that impact my normal profile?
I don't use profiles so just trying to max out my storage space.
1) With Ambient display enabled, the screen pops on when a notification comes through, or when I pick up the device. If Ambient display is disabled, the screen doesn't wake for either circumstance. - The way I would like to have it, is where the screen only comes on when a notification comes through, and not when I move the phone. For me, it's a bit annoying most times. Is there a setting or another way to achieve this?
2) When Ambient display is enabled and I get the sound or vibration for a notification, it takes a few seconds (3-5) for the screen to come on. - Is this normal? I'd prefer it to come on right after the notification sound/vibration.
I'm currently on build MDA89D, and have fingerprint/pin set for lock screen security.
Having issue when pressing the power button, the lockscreen will come back on for about 3 seconds and then turn off again. I can't figure out what is causing this to happen.
I know you can do this with smart pairing of Bluetooth devices but I was hoping to be able to do the same for when I'm playing music through my car's auxiliary jack / over the phone's speakers. I've done a fair bit of googling but haven't found a solution. I use llama app on my phone to trigger events and have tried setting a trigger using the music app to trigger the screen lock to disable but it doesn't work. I'm wondering if it's feasible to somehow trigger screen lock to be disabled when a music app is active?
My new 6P arrived and my favourite feature is the Imprint sensor to turn on screen and simultaneously lock it. Having my phone be alive when i pick it up and screen off when I don't is a real feature - what I was wondering is could we use the Imprint sensor to get around the problem where you're browsing and your screen turns off due to display time out. If it were possible to have the imprint act as a "keep the screen on, I'm using it" button it would be fantastic.
When I lock my SGS II i would expect all the buttons to lock! However the power button function remain active and its far too easy to accidently power off my phone or set it into flight mode.Does anyone know how to disable this "feature" ??
my mobile got updated some days ago to 5.1.1 but there was no guest mode. So I tried 2 other firmware from Sammobile. None of them had guest mode.which Firmware you have which includes guest mode? PDA and CSC, assumed you have guest mode...
I'm running the latest Cyanogenmod 13 nightly on my Nexus 6P, without gapps. Unfortunately, I do not have an HDR option in the camera (tried AOSP and Google camera).
I already flashed the vendor.img from Google. What I could do? I do not want to install gapps.
All i want to know is there a way to make the restart button show up instead just power off when i press the power button? Don't wanna root this phone yet....
So, the 6P is a sodding big phone and I have fairly small hands.
Switching on to an unlocked state using the fingerprint reader is easy. Switching off requires the power button, which means wrestling the damn thing into a position where I can press the button.
I've looked at a few apps that switch off the screen with a shake or gesture, but these always result in a pattern request to unlock fully when turning back on with the fingerprint reader. Looking at this thread, it seems the Nova Launcher double-tap off function results in the same secondary security challenge when switching back on.
I assume this is because the third-party double-tap/shake/gesture event is only turning the screen off, not actually locking the device as the power button would.
Is it possible on the Nexus 6p to use the finger print scanner to unlock apps with the finger print scanner on the phone without using it to lock the phone and having to setup the PIN lock?
I've read that some people like to install twrp, root, etc. and then re lock the bootloader. Is there any benefits to doing that? And is there a way to unlock/lock without wiping every time you unlock again?
I just upgraded from a Huawei Mate 7 and it had the option to protect individual apps via fingerprint. Is there any way to lock app with fingerprints on the nexus 6p. Like a app in google play. I know there are some aps for galaxy devices but I haven't seen anything that will work on the nexus?
Just as the title says, I tried messing with the dpi, went from 400 to 480, all of them cause chrome to go into tablet mode with the tiny tabs/buttons at the top of the screen. I'm using the PureNexus rom.
Gmail app doesn't allow me to click some embedded links and some links are just plain text and not highlighted/underlined in blue making them clickable.
So I have an alarm set every morning for work. I also use the do not disturb quick launch. Well for whatever reason every time I use do not disturb it turns off the alarm even though I have it set for alarms only mode.
How come if I am in "picture mode" of the camera and then switch to "video" it zooms in. What would normally be in the frame for a picture is cropped so much for video.....
It turns off sRBG every time it completely reboots, and now I have noticed it doing it after just being left idle overnight (just one time, last night).
I'm trying to flash a TWRP, but for some reason the phone doesn't show up any more in adb when in fastboot mode (at the bottom of the phone screen it tells me to connect a USB cable). It was showing fine until yesterday. I have tried several different USB ports. The cable is definitely working (in fact plugging and unplugging it causes Windows to notice and make a sound, and also it works fine in ADB when the phone is booted up.
The only thing that I can think that happened since I had last connected to it in fastboot mode (to unlock the bootloader) is that I connected my PC to a couple other phones (Galaxy S3 and Nexus 5) using them in MTP mode. I have reinstalled Google and universal drivers several times, deleted the device from device manager, etc
I'm running 6.0.1, rooted, xposed. When trying to change my profile picture or add a picture to any contacts, there is no longer an "apply" button. I can crop and everything like normal but once I'm finished I cannot select apply. I've tried uninstalling xposed with no luck.
