Dec 5, 2011My droid A855 shows a lit up black screen when powered on. When it finishes powering on, its still black. The Motorola logo and the droid eye don't appear while its powering on either. Now I can raise the volume, receive messages and phone calls, I just can't see the images at all; its all black. The back, home, menu, and search buttons at the bottom of the screen still light up white and work as well as the keypad. I turned it off and on and took out the battery about 8 times. I never dropped it or got it wet. I've had it for two years already so I guess the warranty is up. It just randomly froze and went black while i was texting my friend.

Left it to charge for a whole day (charging indicator lits up) but still nothing. But when I turn it on, the boot music/sound comes in and also I can only see the screen when under sunlight. I can see 'Silent mode " and "settings" on the screen. But the phone switches down when I press on either.

I see a kind of battery picture pop up for a while with two green arrows making a circle and a little down arrow in the middle - in the center of screen.
A while later the screen goes black and nothing happens. The SIM card is still inside. I have tried 2-3 times - battery shows to be >80% as of now.

BB Torch :: 9800 Is Stuck On Black Reset Screen?
Nov 22, 2011I have had my blackberry torch 9800 since march 2011, so that's 7 months.
while downloading bbm music earlier, just as it was finishing downloading, my phone switched itself off, and went to the black blackberry screen with the white loading bar at the bottom. it has been in a loop on this screen for about half an hour now, and i am very worried! the white loading bar gets to about 3 quarters of the way done and shuts down and starts the process all over again. i've tried taking the battery out, putting my phone on charge and nothing will help it!

Sep 25, 2014I have had the Lumia 1020 for a couple months now and love it but every now and then, at complete random: the screen goes black. I then need to perform a soft reset in order to use the phone again.
I have not completed a factory reset yet, especially since it's still a new phone in all senses. But how I'll likely proceed with the reset and if it happens again: contact warranty to get a replacement.

Mar 10, 2015While playing a game on my phone yesterday the screen flashed/blinked for a moment, then turned and remained a blackish blue color. While in this state nothing on the phone was functional, I could hold the power button until I was blue in the face and it wouldn't power off the device. At this point I opened the cover for the micro SD card and SIM card and pressed the yellow power off button.
After holding down the yellow off button for several seconds and feeling the three vibrations I set the phone down and left it for 5 minutes. When I powered device backup it had the same black blue screen. I repeated these steps several times all with the same outcome. At this point I'm pretty frustrated and attempted to boot into recovery to no avail, finally deciding to simply do a factory reset which didn't work either.

Sep 24, 2010So basically. I soft reset my phone and the screen went black (normal), but the led light just kept blinking. I thought maybe because of the upgrade it needed more time or something. So I decided to leave my phone and go get ready for work thinking by the time I'm ready to jet, it would be up and running. 45 minutes later, Nothing. Still black. Still blinking. So I did a hard reset which worked just fine. But I had to soft reset my phone again (why? the alerts sounds stopped working...resetting it makes them work again)....but same deal: black screen, blinking led. Is soft reset just dead now with the new upgrade?

Sep 9, 2014I was importing some photos from my iPhone to iPhoto on my macbook. Then suddenly there was a warning that came up and said that some photos and videos were unreadable. So I cancelled the pop out I think. Then suddenly many photos that were unaffected initially, and not meant to be imported, became unreadable.Â
I then decided to eject my phone, thinking that it'd be ok. However, when i looked at my phone's photos later, the photos that weren't supposed to be transferred, suddenly turned black and then my phone got frozen for a few minutes. So I decided to shut off my phone.Â
After I switched it on again, I checked to see if the photos were there. To my horror, over 2000 photos went missing and more than half of which contain important screenshots and family photos and whatnot

IPhone 5c :: Turned Off And Won't Turn On / Even When Reset And Put It On Charge
Sep 1, 2014About an hour ago my phone turned off unexpectedly and wouldn't turn on. I didn't really think much of it but I was a bit worried as the charge was on 96% so it couldn't have run out of charge, also i'd had this phone for almost 10 months and this hasn't happened before. It's currently been on charge for 30-40 minutes and I've reset it a few times but all that happens is the Apple logo comes up, then after 1-2 minutes it disappears and nothing else happens. It also keeps randomly resetting itself without me doing anything but all that happens is that it goes off, AGAIN.

Mar 4, 2010I am helping out a friend who has a Nokia 6280. She claimed that it's infected by a virus because her problems started after using a Bluetooth headset. I don't quite believe this as I've heard it's more likely to be struck by lightning than to have this phone infected with a virus. Anyhow, the problem is the following: When you power on the phone, you get the Nokia handshake, then the phone loads. However, as soon as the phone loads, a bunch of black lines appear to streak across the screen rendering it black. That's not a huge issue because it goes away after a few seconds. Now I've read this could be an issue related to the ribbon that connects to the screen, but the screen turning black does not occur in any other instance other than right after when the main screen appears. I can play with the slider all day and nothing will happen, but like clockwork the problem appears after the phone loads.What gives? The phone works fine otherwise, so what could the problem be? If you need any more information I will be happy to provide. I've uploaded a video of this issue here (using my 5800 XpressMusic at night - the quality isn't that great sorry, but it does show the problem). Pardon the audio - my kids were watching Spongebob Squarepants so you might want to turn the audio all the way down! I guess my question is two-fold:
1) can this in fact be the result of a virus?
2) if this isn't due to a virus, what is it due to?
