I just got my Lumina phone 4 days ago and the screen suddenly turned black tonight. I cannot get anything to appear on the screen except the numbers 10.12 are lit in the right corner of the screen. View 2 Replies View RelatedMy droid A855 shows a lit up black screen when powered on. When it finishes powering on, its still black. The Motorola logo and the droid eye don't appear while its powering on either. Now I can raise the volume, receive messages and phone calls, I just can't see the images at all; its all black. The back, home, menu, and search buttons at the bottom of the screen still light up white and work as well as the keypad. I turned it off and on and took out the battery about 8 times. I never dropped it or got it wet. I've had it for two years already so I guess the warranty is up. It just randomly froze and went black while i was texting my friend.

Left it to charge for a whole day (charging indicator lits up) but still nothing. But when I turn it on, the boot music/sound comes in and also I can only see the screen when under sunlight. I can see 'Silent mode " and "settings" on the screen. But the phone switches down when I press on either.

I was importing some photos from my iPhone to iPhoto on my macbook. Then suddenly there was a warning that came up and said that some photos and videos were unreadable. So I cancelled the pop out I think. Then suddenly many photos that were unaffected initially, and not meant to be imported, became unreadable.Â
I then decided to eject my phone, thinking that it'd be ok. However, when i looked at my phone's photos later, the photos that weren't supposed to be transferred, suddenly turned black and then my phone got frozen for a few minutes. So I decided to shut off my phone.Â
After I switched it on again, I checked to see if the photos were there. To my horror, over 2000 photos went missing and more than half of which contain important screenshots and family photos and whatnot

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am helping out a friend who has a Nokia 6280. She claimed that it's infected by a virus because her problems started after using a Bluetooth headset. I don't quite believe this as I've heard it's more likely to be struck by lightning than to have this phone infected with a virus. Anyhow, the problem is the following: When you power on the phone, you get the Nokia handshake, then the phone loads. However, as soon as the phone loads, a bunch of black lines appear to streak across the screen rendering it black. That's not a huge issue because it goes away after a few seconds. Now I've read this could be an issue related to the ribbon that connects to the screen, but the screen turning black does not occur in any other instance other than right after when the main screen appears. I can play with the slider all day and nothing will happen, but like clockwork the problem appears after the phone loads.What gives? The phone works fine otherwise, so what could the problem be? If you need any more information I will be happy to provide. I've uploaded a video of this issue here (using my 5800 XpressMusic at night - the quality isn't that great sorry, but it does show the problem). Pardon the audio - my kids were watching Spongebob Squarepants so you might want to turn the audio all the way down! I guess my question is two-fold:
1) can this in fact be the result of a virus?
2) if this isn't due to a virus, what is it due to?
Just got my X6 couple weeks ago with Facebook already installed.having used this on a regular basis it seems to have crashed the screen froze up and my phone wouldn't work without removing the battery turning off etc.Since then i have removed the app that was already installed and tried to re-install the facebook app from the ovi store with no luck? How and where from (download link) can i get this app back on my phone..?
View 15 Replies View RelatedYesterday I downloaded a new app from the play store, and after about 10 minutes of messing around with the app, it locked up my S6. So i tried to kill the app, no luck. Did a soft reset, vibrated and powered down. Upon reboot, the screen flickered the "powered by android" splash screen and went through its normal boot with the screen black. Tried to get the screen to turn on, but now it only flickers with a green vertical line, and then turn the screen turns right back off... Everything seems to be fine on the phone, ie, i can take pictures(auto upload to dropbox), screen shots, and even answer any incoming calls. But the screen wont turn on. Waiting for the battery to drain to see what will happen, when its dead and i try to plug it in.
