My iPhone 5 is suddenly stuck in recovery mode. It won't turn on, the connect to iTunes logo just shows up. I really don't want to restore it because I have 300+ pictures from vacation that have not yet been synced to my photo stream. I guess my question is is there anyway that I can kick my phone out of recovery mode long enough to get those photos in my stream without restoring it? I know there are programs on the Internet that claim to do this but I doubt they work.

I want to dwnld unsynced images B4 restoring the phone. Phone is frozen so can't download straight into iPhoto or ImageCapture.
I trawled the net and followed suggestions such as trying to back it up via Ctrl-click in Devices on iTunes but only says 'open in new window' and 'Eject iPhone' - no backup option. Have also looked for the 'Mobilesync' bkup folder in Library too but not there. either.

I updated through iTunes and it had an error at the end. ( forgot the error code). It told me to reboot which I did and now all the phone say is connect to iTunes. I connect to iTunes and the computer chimes like it was plugged in but iTunes does not read it. Everything works fine when I use my iPad, which I updated through Wifi. I have rebooted computer and phone many times. iTunes won't even launch if phone is plugged in first. Windows 8.1 up to date. iTunes 11.2.2. iPhone was 7.1.1. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an iPhone 4s (Verizon). I had recently purchased what was described as an OEM screen plus LCD after I had cracked my factory screen. After replacing the screen and LCD such features as the side volume controls, vibrate switch, and proximity switch (dimming after accepting a call) have stopped working. I double checked to see that all of the connectors were pushed on correctly and they were. Is it possible this may not be an OEM screen and causing the problem or is there a piece of the hardware that I may have damaged that controls all of these functions (i.e. motherboard)?

Yesterday I was updating and walked away from my computer (PC). When I came back, the phone was on the connect to itunes screen (and still is) and itunes gave me a message that said itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. I don't want to restore because I don't want to lose my pictures. The phone was working fine prior to updating. I am not sure what happened. The pictures are the most important thing. How can I get the pictures and/or get away from that screen?
I tried tinyumbrella, but it doesn't see my phone. Some of the pictures were backed up and some were not.

I have an iphone 3GS and I tried to update it yesterday, admittedly its been awhile since i last updated it, but after downloading the software it has remained frozen on the connect to itunes screen. A hard reset does nothing at all. When it is connected to itunes it wants to download the software again, which has already downloaded and wasted 3Gig of my internet.
