I tried the rm -r var/root/Mobile command through terminal, like others have suggested. However, when I plug my phone into my computer, iTunes still keeps repeating the same message. Is there any way to fix this problem without doing a restore? At this point it would be a huge hassle.

I get a message saying: "The folder you specificied doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. My iPhone 5 is suddenly stuck in recovery mode. It won't turn on, the connect to iTunes logo just shows up. I really don't want to restore it because I have 300+ pictures from vacation that have not yet been synced to my photo stream. I guess my question is is there anyway that I can kick my phone out of recovery mode long enough to get those photos in my stream without restoring it?
