Jul 5, 2012My buttons seemed to have stopped working properly. In order to adjust the volume using the side button, I have to shut down the phone and then restart it. It will work for a while and then stops working and I have to go thru the process again. The home button just works whenever it wants. It doesn't fix the problem when I restart the phone. I can slide my finger in a circle around the button and it still doesn't work.

Dec 10, 2015On my Lumia 950, it will reset when I hold down the power button for 10 seconds but this should only happen when holding down both the volume down button and the power button at the same time. My Lumia 920, which is also running build 10.0.10586.29, can have just the power button held down and once I swipe away the power off prompt, it works normally and stays on just like I want.I would like to use my Qi enabled car mount but it needs to push down on the power button, causing it to constantly restart.

I seriously, 100% and completely agree with you. I really believe in the touch screen. I love it for everything I do on there. I don't think physical keyboards are easier like some people keep crowing, but GOD, the on-screen camera button is SO EFFING TERRIBLE I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! It makes it so awkward to hold the phone and push the button. There is a level of deep-rooted frustration that pops up when using any piece of technology other than my iphone. The only time that frustrated feeling takes over with the iphone is when I have to use that on-screen button to take a picture. It's a pain in the ass, taking multiple pictures sucks, taking pictures quickly sucks, being unaware of my surrounding while i'm concentrating on threading the needle that is making sure i hit the button correctly sucks. It takes the fun out of photography, it takes the spontaneity away and negates the whole advantage of having a camera with you at all times.
Please somebody beg, borrow, or kidnap steve into making the Perfectly positioned to be a shutter button in a comfortable and funny way that just works. Volume button into a camera shutter / video start stop button when the camera button is open.or at least give me the option. I did some looking and the Camera Zoom 2 app has this as an option. Anybody know of any others? I don't like being stuck using a 3rd party camera app as I'd rather use the one that apple designed to work best with their camera. Maybe I'm just paranoid about other camera apps taking longer, and taking worse pictures, but I really want apple to make this an option.

Am a complete newby to this. Have been reading forums for two evenings, and need some clarity Re. GPS. Am going to buy a iphone 3GS 16G soon, and it will have 3.1.3 firmware. Have never had any of the Tomtom type GPS devices, or an iphone, before. I need the GPS thing for my new job--lots of traveling around town, looking for residential addresses.
I have noticed this sort of thing on some friends phones. You enter the address into the phone, and then it verbally and visually gives you instructions on how to get to the location. A few questions:
1. Is this an "app" that you buy once, or do you subscribe to it monthly, or what ?
2. Will it still work on a jailbreak 3GS, 3.1.3?
3. Is there any additional esoteric knowledge or info I should seek about this GPS function ?
BB Curve :: Way To Access Folder Mapping
Mar 9, 2012I had a problem with capacity on my Outlook program (because I had imported an old .pst version of data files when installing Outlook 2010 on my new PC). This meant I have had to change the directory name and location for Outlook on my PC. The capacity has increased from 2 Gb to 6GB. I have imported all my old Outlook data into that new file and everything works just fine on the PC.
However, the unintended consequence is that I cannot now synchronise my device data with my PC data. When trying to do a simple Sync I get the message 'One or more configured folders is not available. Update folder mapping and try again.'
That all makes sense but when I bring up the relevant Organiser section of the BB software, the Map Folder button is not highlighted and there is nothing in the Map Folder box. I then get a message that says 'No folder mapping is available for calendar section.'
How can I recreate the link between the newly located and renamed .pst file and the device?
IPhone :: Lack Of UK Mapping From Siri?
May 19, 2012I have just purchased an I phone and am dissapointed to find that SIRI cannot use the map function in the UK, I notice that in all of the glossy advertising Apple do they do not hghlight this lack of UK functionality, surely that is not being transparent! they should make this fact known but why would they as people would just buy their competitions phones which are equally as good if not better - not expecting a response from Apple!

Aug 30, 2012That being the case, I downloaded the map files for Alberta onto my 5800XM and checked that Banff and Calgary map info was present.No problem with Banff road details and POI's but although the name 'Calgary' is shown on the map, the main roads stop short of the city and absolutely no roads are shown going into the city and no POI's are pesent for Calgary.

Sep 4, 2012It seems like many times when I plug my phone into a USB cable attached to my laptop (which is my normal method for charging it), charge the phone, and then detach the phone from the cable, I have to go back through and reassign personal tones for SMS messages and email accounts. Every sound has defaulted back to my default phone ringtone, and when I go back into my sound settings, my default notification says "unknown notification". If I tap on it to hear what sound it is, it plays my default ringtone. I monitor 8 email accounts and assign different notification sounds for each one. I also have personal SMS sounds for any texts from my wife or ESPN. It's annoying when I disconnect my USB cable to have to go back through everything and reassign these different tones.
Just some notes: ***This problem only seems to happen when I leave the phone connected to the USB cable for an extended period of time (such as overnight) or when I have copied some files from my laptop to my phone's SD card***All of my sounds are stored on my SD card. This problem acts as if the phone loses any mappings to files on the SD card if it is connected as a mass storage device for an extended period of time***I use the built-in email program for monitoring all my email accounts***My default USB computer connection is selected as Mass Storage since MotoCast and ZumoCast are not supported by the Electrify 2

May 24, 2012my volume up button broke somehow, without dropping the phone or something, it just stopped working suddenly. Now I have the problem that I can't increase my volume when i'm calling and I can't increase the volume of the mp3 player, is there any workaround for this?

Nov 12, 2014I got my HTC one m8 two months ago and I've been using it very frequently. When I use it I see the volume bar increasing to max randomly. It's extremely annoying since I wear headphones. I tried some things out and found out that when ever I touch the volume up button slightly it raises the volume. You can feel the click of a button on any volume button that indicates that you are pressing it. I don't even push it to feel that. It's a light touch and it goes way up. My lower volume button is fine and it doesn't increase until I push past that click. What's going on? I've heard of loose volume buttons mine are firm and don't rattle.

BB Bold :: Volume Up Button Does Not Work?
Jan 10, 2012the volume up button of my new Bold 9900 does not work anymore. I got the device 5 weeks ago (and its the fifth device for the last year ...). The irony is that this is supposed to be the replacement for my 4th broke Bold 9780. I really start to regret the switch from Apple to Blackberry. The products are good as long as they work - let me correct - IF they work. And the replacement process takes ages.

Feb 27, 2012I am trying to synchronize my laptop calendar with my BB calendar through Microsoft Outlook with no success. When I use the BB Desktop Software for the Curve 8530, I did the following:
I connected the laptop to the BB with a USB cable. I invoked the BB Desktop Software and connected with the BB. I viewed the conflict resolution dialogue box and updated both fields in the device and Microsoft Outlook with highlighted values.
I received error message "Error encountered. Error code - 0x80040fb3. Check documentation." I pressed "OK". I received the message "Unable to complete synchronization". I pressed "OK". Then I hit the "Synch" button on the dialogue box. The message "one or more configured folders is not available. Update folder mapping and try again."
Then I clicked on "organizer" button in the dialogue box. I clicked on "configure settings". I clicked "advanced" after seeing that the "calendar" and "address" book were checked. The error message "no available message stores" was displayed. I clicked "OK". The "Advanced" menu appeared, however the "map folder" button was not highlighted and the message "no folder mapping is available for calendar section".
My e-mail is being synchronized from Hotmail through to Outlook. I can see my Hotmail e-mail in Outlook.My calendar is being synchronized from Hotmail through to Outlook. I can see my Hotmail calendar in Outlook. My address books are not being synchronized. My calendars are not being synchronized.

I think this is a software problem, because I can temporarily fix the issue by re-setting the network settings.
