View 5 RepliesCame to use my MA for my ride into work this morning, and the screen simply says "The application Launcher (process com.android.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" and has a force close button.Hitting the Force Close causes the message to re-appear.Powering off and back on again, causes the message to re-appear.Is there a way to reset the device using the buttons (I have no menus, navigation or anything other than the message above so cant go to the config to do a factory reset).

Is it possible to just change the launcher without installing a complete ROM?
Last night I tried to turn off updates and such, force stop blinkfeed...well It got back to like it was stock and today blinkfeed is working again! Is there any way to uninstall?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently got a replacement M7 back from HTC and the blinkfeed highlights just won't show up. I can see the content if I go to the individual pages for content, say for CNN, but when I go back to highlights there is no content to show.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't know if this has always been like this and I've just not noticed but there is a ton of Google drive postings coming across BlinkFeed. I already have Google drive so I don't need to sign up, it's just really annoying. Is there a way to get rid of it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust wondering where blink feed is in everyone's battery stats? For me it always seems to be really high up, currently second on list after chrome having used 8% and I'm down to 30%. I know blink feed is the whole launcher but just surprised its so high as don't think I ever even saw Google now launcher mentioned on my nexus 5.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFor the last 3 or 4 days my HTC One's BlinkFeed screen keeps failing to update. Even if I try to force it, nothing happens so I figure I may just need to clear its data as that seems to work with other apps, however I can't seem to find a BlinkFeed app when exploring the All Apps section of the device nor do I find some sort of clear cache option for it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI turned off Blinkfeed from my pages. And to make sure no sync is going on I even turned off sync accounts in Blinkfeed before turning off.
For some reason it is still draining the most battery on my phone?
I've been able to add custom RSS feeds to Blinkfeed, but how can I get them into the Highlights? Right now the only way to access those feeds is to swipe from the left and select each individual custom feed, which results in Blinkfeed only showing items from that one custom feed. Then I have go back and do the same for each other custom feed, and then once again to get back to Highlights.
Ideally, I'd like to be able to see the items from all of the feeds (custom and otherwise) in the Highlights category so I don't have to go back and forth.
The customization within Settings "Add topics to Highlights" doesn't give me the option to add the custom feeds.
I have owned my HTC One for over half a year now and am currently running stock 4.3 with Sense 5.0. Over the past week I have noticed that blinkfeed no longer updates in the background. I have it set to auto update over data and wifi, but it won't even auto update while it is connected to wifi and charging. I always have to pull it down to manually update recently. I have tried rebooting and changing the update preferences, but no luck. I really love blinkfeed. So, this is a big issue in my eyes.
View 2 Replies View RelatedNot sure what's happened, but of late, when I press a Facebook article in my blinkfeed, it used to jump to the correct Facebook post in the app. Now it just loads the app and defaults to the top of my News Feed.
View 1 Replies View RelatedEnter since I set up my replacement device, I've seen posts on Blinkfeed about getting 100 GB of storage from Google Drive. It shows up multiple times on my feed, even though I already set up my drive space months ago when I originally got my One M8. How to remove it? I don't see it listed anywhere in the settings.
View 11 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded to KitKat and now I need to swipe to unlock my phone, then enter my numerical password.
Would like to just have the numerical password screen pop-up without the swipe to unlock screen, as I had before with Jelly Bean.
How I can do this? I'm sick to death of the mobile active radio bug and I know KitKat doesn't have this.
View 5 Replies View Relatedi bought the LG G3 D855 phone using android kitkat 4.4 but am now regretting because it was advertised that it had 2 GB ram but actually gives me only 450mbs ram(this is the biggest factor with speed lagging performance etc) and on top of that does not allow downloaded apps to either manually transfer or automatically to the sd card. meanwhile using the file manager as the word says can only transfer files manually not apps. After factory resetting the memory gets full quickly and therefore the phone is back to its sluggish ways.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to downgrade is I am getting bad battery life draining 5% in 15 min. My phone is a G900A s5. How to downgrade to Kitkat 4.4.4
View 2 Replies View RelatedOkay, so camera always worked perfectly. Yesterday received KitKat update 4.4.2 and now in low light conditions my camera has a purple hue.
This is not a hardware issue. It is clearly a software issue and the 4.4.2 KitKat update appears to be garbage. My girlfriend has the exact same issue since updating to 4.4.2.
So I am lagging behind a little in the updates department. I am currently on kitkat 4.4.4 (towelrooted, TWRP recovery with system files modified). AFAIK, i can't use the OTA update I received months ago for 5.0. Is there anyway I can upgrade (without wiping any data), to 6.0? If not, what would be the best way to upgrade to 5.0 (not a clean install/wipe)?

View 19 Replies View RelatedOk, this is my problem, I have protective leather casing (I hope thats how you say it on english) and on Kitkat, I could slide/answer with finger without opening casing, it has a hole in it, so now on 5.1.1. we got "Reject with message" and answering slider is moved up.
Since we cannot disable "Reject with message", is there an application, to show me kitkat style answering screen to place slider exactly where it was on kitkat android, so i can use my casing without problems?
I had the same problem, with clock after upgrading to 5.1.1. and I installed app, to get back clock on location where it was...

I own Nexus 5 for enough long time to know how Kitkat worked. There is one thing that has drawn my attention - when I had Kitkat radio running on my phone, the mobile signal was great but after each upgrade to Lollipop and Marshmallow it's gotten noticeably worse. I was wondering, is it possible to install Kitkat radio when running Marshmallow ROM (Cataclysm)?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to find the setting on how to turn gmail cards on. I'm not sure if it's just on or what but I do not see the setting anymore in Google Now's settings. I only see "Sports teams", "Stocks", "Places", "Everything else" (which only has 4 settings, and gmail not being one of them).
How to turn this on? I'm presuming it's not working because my package tracking cards haven't been showing up.
Unlike most people who were looking forward to it, I was dreading this Hangouts/SMS merger.
One of the things I have not been able to figure out is how to search within my SMS messages. The old SMS app did this easily at the push of one on screen button.
Is this no longer a feature or am I just not looking in the right place?
Sometime in the last week, a post was made asking how to prevent an unwanted person from contacting her via SMS messaging. She can block his phone number directly, and/or just not answer "unknown caller" attempts. (could just direct those to a silent ring/disconnect)
I was browsing aimlessly thru the internet and just came across this blurb:
(*Text blocking not available on Android 4.4/KitKat) found it here: [URL] ....
and this blurb: • Starting from Android 4.4, Google has revoked SMS/MMS permissions from developers. Due to that fact, LINE whoscall will not be able to block SMS/MMS for Android versions 4.4 and above. Call blocking feature is not affected.
If that is actually true, as of today we have no way to block unwanted SMS messages.
I was reading all of the info on different Caller ID apps to see if any of them are worthwhile.
All of a sudden, my wifi keeps switching between off and on every... 5-10 seconds. No recent downloads/changes, running KK 4.4.2 ....
