Mar 20, 2010Any idea how to transfer contact info (or any other data) from an AT&T Samsung phone to the Eris? Clearly, due to the two different system I can't just use the SIM card from the Samsung. Tried bluetooth but after pairing the two phones the Eris showed: "Paired but not connected". (I entered 0000 as PIN code for both phones (no idea what those PIN codes might be)) and I got that message. Also, the phone is connected to my wireless (signal strength is excellent, speed 54 Mbps, channel 1 (I don't know what it means)) network but the browser is not working, I can't open any website. Can it be some setting issue?
Oh, the Eris is not activated at this moment on any mobile network, but the browser should work when I'm on my own wireless network, shouldn't it?

May 11, 2010I have flashed verizon Droid Eris to Pageplus. It's working great. the only issue is I am using lot of data and end up in using all the 50MB in a couple of weeks.Any tricks to decrease data usage.I am using Wifi whenever I can. I try to disable mobile internet as many times I remember.

Of course I'm not trying to compare the Eris with an iPhone in terms of syncing up with a Mac .... but as far as a touch screen device, typing / touching accuracy, user interface experience .....
How does the Eris with 2.1 / 2.2 compare to the iPhone 3Gs? Since I'm going to be paying for a non-Contract phone -- the Eris is the only one I am considering.
HTC Droid Eris :: Found Bug In Mail Box
Apr 26, 2010i have tried to configure an imap ssl mail account on port 993 which has a self signed certificate. After entering the server and user settings etc, the connection test just ends without any message, showing the server settings page again. To my opinion a popup should appear instead, asking if I would like to accept the certificate. But as there is no chance to proceed to the next config page it is currently not possible to configure such a mail account. Several other users in german android forums are complaining this as well. Because the same server and settings perfectly work with my older HTC hero I assume that this must be a bug in the new htc mail app.

The BlueAnt offers voice-controlled speed dial on with phones that "adhere to the Bluetooth specification for speed dialing."For example, I should be able to say "Call Speed Dial 8", and the headset would tell the phone what to do. The V1 recognizes my commands (and repeats them), but when it sends them to the Eris, I always get a last-number redial.I suppose that means the Eris isn't fully Bluetooth compliant. Odd for a relatively new phone. Any hope in getting this to work? (and is this the best place to ask?)

Retransmission scheduled on XX:XX" Also when I try to select something on my main screen, for example 'messages', it'll go to something else. (people, recent calls, pdf viewer... anything but messages.)

May 19, 2010I've upgraded from my original OS to 5.0.0.411 (i think) at the start of the year with no problems. Two days ago I attempted the upgrade to .681 which was fine, but I'm not keen on the update as the UMA isn't working properly, so I want to downgrade.
So last night I managed to get back to the original OS 4.? (I was having probs with a straight forward downgrade to another OS5) and tried to upgrade to the Vodafone Italy (I'm on Orange UK) but it wasn't being recognised with the Desktop Blackberry software (vendor file was deleted), although when I went into the upgrade part on the app loader, it did appear there, but with an asterisk saying I had to be registered with Blackberry to be eligible for the upgrade (or something like that). I attempted the upgrade but the software wouldn't allow it.
I removed that software and tried with the Wind release, but again the desk top software didn't recognise it.I tried the .681 release again and the upgrade worked fine
I would really like to go back to a stable OS where the UMA works. Any ideas how to do it with the Vodafone Italy release? Or am I being blocked somehow as I'm registered to Orange UK? If so does anyone have a link to download another earlier release that is stable and not carrier associated?

Aug 2, 2011Basically, this morning I noticed that my phone (which I've had without any problems for about a month now) wasn't making any noise when I was locking and un-locking the screen. I listened more carefully and have noticed that the sound is still there but I can only hear it if my ear is right next to the speaker.
The setting, obviously, is still turned on but is there someway the volume on the feature could have been turned down?

I have tried turning it off, removing the battery, then turning it back on. I have tried deleting old pictures to clear up space (the phone says that I have over 5GB of space). I have tried giving the camera extra time before trying to view the picture.

Jul 15, 2012I am not at all happy with ICS. To me, the upgrade to ICS is a nothing more than a bunch of pretty colors and a few new animations. In actuality, however, I think that the upgrade delivered little in terms of improvements. In fact, I wish I could undo the upgrade and go back two weeks, to a time in which I felt the Razr Maxx was virtually flawless and was the best phone I ever had.Elsewhere in this owner's forum I have written about the way in which business contact names are now scrambeled in the contact list. Others are having problems with battery life, overheating, poor navigation, etc. However, the biggest failure of the ICS upgrade, as I see it, is the loss of the ability to view Flash encoded videos in either the native browser or in Dolphin.
With all of the hype about the upcoming release of ICS, why didn't anyone warn the customers that Flash would no longer work with ICS and that this upgrade would essentially hobble their device? Motorola did mention this fact buried in a pre-release notification, but it was easily missed:Due to Adobe's discontinuation of Flash development, Flash Player is no longer preloaded and is not available for download from Google Play to this device. Existing installations of Flash Player may or may not play Flash video properly. Alternatively, the new HTML5 standard is supported for Web video.

Brought to Verizon tech support they checked and confirm it was enable but when trying any site that uses java, comes up with message unable to find Java Plugin. Before update, all my websites worked ok with Java, including a Citrix using Java.

Mar 6, 2012So - one of my dumb animals knocked my phone off a table (which they weren't supposed to be on in the first place) and it landed on the table foot (brass) face down and cracked the screen. The crack is down near the bottom (not on main viewing screen). Although the phone still works great, the crack is driving me crazy, and would anticipate it getting bigger at some point. I have the Verizon full replacement warranty, but don't really want a refurb as my BIONIC works perfect and don't want to get one someone returned that wasn't.
Just don't think Verizon will do anything except give me a refurb, and I don't have an upgrade coming for sometime.

Nov 2, 2011After the last update to 45.3.6.MB855.Sprint.en.US (4.5.1A-1_SUN-198_6) my 4G signal does not stay active but for a minute then it ZZZ out and/or I lose data. Have to revert to 3G. One time I could not turn it on at all until a reboot. No error messages no other issues.
I guess I'll await the next update but it is annoying. a 4G phone that rarely runs as 4G lately.
