I have been trying to track down an issue with my Droid X. The GPS function would not see satellites and correctly locate me on any maps. Today I discovered that the GPS will work if I remove the battery cover. When I replace the cover the GPS stops functioning. What can I do to remedy this, besides leaving the door off.

I have the extended battery and it seems the only way to get a new one is to buy another battery. My back door barely stays on. Also, are there any plans on marketing skins for the external battery? This would make the phone feel more solid and protect the bezel from scratches.

It suck cause the bold9000 was known for its loud speakers and even with my battery cover removed its not as loud as it used to be.

Well long story short my blackberry storm died today and verizon is sending me a replacement, and was nice enough to send me a storm 2 as a replacement only bad news is, the storm 2 replacement does NOT come with a battery door.so my question is, does the blackberry storm battery door fit the storm 2? if not,

I am currently running the latest OS, 2.3.6, on my Razr. I have recently noticed that, after an app is updated, if I had it in a custom group in the app tray, it is removed after the update. At first I thought that this occured when I had to manually accept the update because of different permissions, but I noticed that any update will remove it. For an example, I know the latest updates to Blastr, Dvice, and the Discover mobile app were all removed from the groups.

My question, is there a way to disable the app asking me if I want to mark my car's location when the phone is removed from the dock. My use case is when I get home, clearly I don't need to mark my car's location when I'm at home. The app opens and asks me if I want to mark my location. I also explored using Smart Actions to do this but no luck there either. You would think you could mark locations so the app knows by GPS location that you don't need to mark this location to find your car.

It used to be handy for dialing extension numbers, authorization codes etc. but they seem to be ignored after the update. There is also no apparent way to edit a phone number with any character other than the ones on the dialpad.

Not sure if I'm missing a setting or what but my old Droid DNA synced just fine. I'm using the default email app on the phone. I'm tired of seeing a ton of emails on my phone but only having 10 in my inbox via my pc.
View 3 Replies View RelatedLately I've noticed that I've been missing a lot of calls and texts, which I finally realized was from the phone not producing sounds. The only way I can get the speaker to work is to either remove the battery cover, or to apply pressure to the bottom of the cover while it is on (or pressing on the speaker grille) so I'm assuming it's some sort of physical connection issue. I don't understand why it would work with the battery cover off though if that was the case, so would a new battery cover fix everything? Or am I stuck with a vibrate-only phone until my next upgrade?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have found that whenever I try to take a picture, it looks like it worked, but then I click on the image that appears in the corner and it shows the last picture that I took before this one (from over a month ago). The picture never actually saves.
I have tried turning it off, removing the battery, then turning it back on. I have tried deleting old pictures to clear up space (the phone says that I have over 5GB of space). I have tried giving the camera extra time before trying to view the picture.
There are a number of different docks / lapdocs out there for different Moto phones. which ones will line up with the MicroUSB and MicroHDMI. I have been warned that some are backwards and or upside down.I see sales on Atrix HD docks and Bionic lapdocs will they work ?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am not at all happy with ICS. To me, the upgrade to ICS is a nothing more than a bunch of pretty colors and a few new animations. In actuality, however, I think that the upgrade delivered little in terms of improvements. In fact, I wish I could undo the upgrade and go back two weeks, to a time in which I felt the Razr Maxx was virtually flawless and was the best phone I ever had.Elsewhere in this owner's forum I have written about the way in which business contact names are now scrambeled in the contact list. Others are having problems with battery life, overheating, poor navigation, etc. However, the biggest failure of the ICS upgrade, as I see it, is the loss of the ability to view Flash encoded videos in either the native browser or in Dolphin.
With all of the hype about the upcoming release of ICS, why didn't anyone warn the customers that Flash would no longer work with ICS and that this upgrade would essentially hobble their device? Motorola did mention this fact buried in a pre-release notification, but it was easily missed:Due to Adobe's discontinuation of Flash development, Flash Player is no longer preloaded and is not available for download from Google Play to this device. Existing installations of Flash Player may or may not play Flash video properly. Alternatively, the new HTML5 standard is supported for Web video.
I am having an issue after the latest .173 OTA update from VZW. Update sucessfully went through but the problem came after the reboot. Under the notification bar it says 'SIM removed' and under that (fills the entire screen) says "the sim card was recently removed, sign in to your account to verify identity'. Sim was not removed. It gives Gmail and password option. When I input my password it says "your username or password is incorrect. Please check them and try again". Password is correct, as I can sign into my google account. I've tried pulling the sim while off, insert, restart, same deal.
If I don't input anything into password, it says "please enter your MOTOBLUR account and password to log in". I do not have a motoblur account.
There is always an option for a factory reset, but didnt want to go that route yet.
I have a Razr Maxx HD. Before I upgraded to Jelly Bean I could press and hold the power button for a second and it would bring up a menu that included "Power off", "Airplane mode", "Sleep mode" and some others. Now after upgrading from ICS to Jelly Bean there is no "Sleep mode" selection.Did something go wrong with my upgrade or has "Sleep mode" been removed?Also, I was using the live wallpaper "Grass" and that is gone as well. Did that also get removed with Jelly Bean?

Brought to Verizon tech support they checked and confirm it was enable but when trying any site that uses java, comes up with message unable to find Java Plugin. Before update, all my websites worked ok with Java, including a Citrix using Java.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo - one of my dumb animals knocked my phone off a table (which they weren't supposed to be on in the first place) and it landed on the table foot (brass) face down and cracked the screen. The crack is down near the bottom (not on main viewing screen). Although the phone still works great, the crack is driving me crazy, and would anticipate it getting bigger at some point. I have the Verizon full replacement warranty, but don't really want a refurb as my BIONIC works perfect and don't want to get one someone returned that wasn't.
Just don't think Verizon will do anything except give me a refurb, and I don't have an upgrade coming for sometime.
Off topic, but does anyone know how the 'points system' works for these forums? I tried looking around and couldn't find an explanation of it anywhere.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Droid X updated yesterday and now the audio no longer works when I make phone calls. The person I call or who calls me cannot hear my end of the conversation. It will only work if my phone is on speaker. Has anyone else experienced this or know a fix? I have taken out the battery to restart it, but that did not fix the problem. Verizon had no solutions besides to send me a refurbished phone replacement.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Bold 9700 is not recognising the contact name for SMS messages properly. But it is a different problem to what others have described. When I receive a message, it shows the contact's name correctly (which was the problem others had I think).But then if I turn off the bb and remove the battery, then replace it and turn the phone back on, none of the SMS messages have the proper contact names - it just shows either their phone number, or their name if I have them stored on my SIM. What's more, this problem only occurs if the contact's phone number is stored with spaces and brackets in it [ie, +64 (21) xxx xxx].
I realise I could go through and add everyone to my SIM card or remove the brackets and spaces from contacts' phone numbers but
a) this wasn't a problem before (on 8310 and 8520) so should be able to be fixed
b) my SIM card wont fit all my contacts anyway
c) phone numbers are hard to read without spaces and brackets
d) it's such a waste of time!
My software version is 5.0.0.344 (which is actually later than what I can download!)
This only happens when I leave it in the car over night. The phone will be dark and won't restart unless I remove and replace the battery.
This does not happen if I bring it in the house and let it sit. Battery level shows around 50% this morning after leaving in the car overnight but the same story, can turn on unless the battery is removed.

Need some help, recently just bought a Bold 9700 and it was doing fine i.e. browsing, instant message (IM) and emails, but problems surface recently my phone went thru a software upgrade.Problem: device takes longer to register to BIS even though the network sservice status showed "BIS connected via mobile network", I cannot browse, IM or even email...
- I tried to register all the numbers in my HRT but not able to recieve the registration email, only after almost 30mins or so...
- also i realised i have many items in my HRT containing GPRS SG... and Wi-Fi... is this normal?
The last time the display functioned I was starting a play-list for my shower. I adjusted the volume once or twice without lighting the screen, and after drying off stopped the music by removing the speaker jack again without lighting the screen. The device then went into my shirt pocket and I ate dinner then watched a movie but when I tried to do a little surfing before bed the screen wouldn't light up. I had seen it light up the buttons but take a few seconds for the display when the CPU was busy so I waited, nothing happened. I pulled the battery and tried again, nothing on the screen. But then I discovered that the touch sensor was still functioning, I could swipe to unlock and power down in the standard fashion just blind. I have examined the water stickers they are both white with bright red X's.
While writing this question (I am sure many of you already know this fact) I discovered that the display of my device is in fact three distinct functional parts. The capacitive touch screen still in operation on my device, the LCD image generator also still in operation, and the Led illumination source which for lack of a more accurate description is burned out.So my question is how could this occur, is it software or hardware, and what are my recourses?
Basically my K850i, has always remembered the time + date when I've removed the battery for a short period of time. However recently this no longer work, which is really annoying.I don't know how it used to remember it, but is it a capacitor and could this be broken? Or is there a smaller battery inside.Real time clock says 'ok' but I'm clueless as to what that means!

After about 7.5 hours, the battery had dropped to 30% with minimal use and next to nothing running in the background. When it hit 30%, the temp spiiked to 107F, and the battery decay accelerated (despite a battery extender Smart Action engaged). The battery was at <5% by 8:30hrs and still just as hot. This is very unusual behavior in my brief 3 week experience with this phone, although I have seen it a couple of times. I usually charge at 50%, and only see the overheating at the lower %. The heat continues when the charger is eventually plugged in. It got so hot today that I decided to reboot the phone, and it seemed to run cool after that.

Anyone else with this issue Perhaps my battery is failing and in need of replacement, but quite coincidental that same day as the update.
