Well long story short my blackberry storm died today and verizon is sending me a replacement, and was nice enough to send me a storm 2 as a replacement only bad news is, the storm 2 replacement does NOT come with a battery door.so my question is, does the blackberry storm battery door fit the storm 2? if not,
does anyone know any reliable websites where I can get a blackberry storm 2 battery door?
I have a new storm 2 for Verizon and the back cover scratches real easy. I wanted to know if anyone knew how to get rid the the scratches? I have a cover on it now but they happened right away.

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy wife's storm 2 recently started acting very strange. The storm 2 is running .428. About 5 days ago, she told me that she was deleting e-mails, and it just spontaneously flipping screens, going from e-mail, to phone, to voice dailing, to camera, and also to some some other menu's (that she had never seen before), to other screens, going so fast that the phone wasn't working for her. She She didn't trust it to even use the phone to call me, or even answer it if I called her.
That day, when i got home, I went to hook it up to my pc to back the data from her phone, and I saw a white error page (of some sort, I couldn't read what it said), then it rebooted. After the reboot, I was able to backup the data, and the phone seemed to work right then.Then tonight, as I'm coming home, she told me it had started acting funny again. This time, she was typing up a text message, when the phone started double typing (i.e., she would press a letter/number and she would here 2 clicks, and 2 characters would appear on the screen, so she had to spend alot of time removing the extra characters. Then all of a sudden, it started flipping screens, going into phone mode, going back to home screen. Then the a menu would pop up, with one of the items highlighted, but she couldn't change the option it had highlighted. She had to do multiple battery pulls, to finally get it to work.
I recently went to Verizon and had my storm2 replaced due to a crackle and distortion in the handset speaker. The new phone just yesterday developed the same problem.I am wondering if it is the result of getting debris into the speaker, and I would like to know if there is a way to clean it if so, as it is a pain in the *** to deal with the replacement thing.

When I use my Rocketfish bluetooth headset it works fabulously, almost always gets the correct name, but when I use the handset it's almost always wrong.This has been the case since day 1 on my S2 regardless of the OS I've been on and I've tried all the officials and several hybrids. I'm now on the official 713.

I have AT&T for my carrier and I was up for an phone upgrade. A few months ago I purchased a brand new 9550 (had the Pearl2 before that and the original Pearl before that!) that was unlocked and I loved it!!! Since this was a Verizon phone, I could not use AT&T's 3G network so I decided to go with the "next best thing", the Iphone. Well, 24 hours later I was returning the phone back to the story. I was unimpressed. Here are the reasons why, though they may seem petty, was enough for me to give it back.........
1. No LED status indicator. I didn't realize how much I actually depended on this. For example, if you get a text or better yet miss a text, you MUST push the home button to turn the screen on to see if you received a text or not. With the Blackberry, a quick glance at the status indicator LED would let you know that. This will never be capiable with any current Iphone as they do not have any such "bulb". There are apps that can "flash" the screen but I can imagine that would play a big part in the battery life. I've read on a few Iphone forums that the users wish they had an LED indicator, while other said that it would be annoying to have this feature. But as annoying as it may be, it is an OPTION with the Blackberry.
2. No sound profiles. Well, it actually has two. Silent, which you only have the option to change vibrate to on/off. The other option is just a general option where you can change the loudness on the ring via a slider. There is a Sound Profile app that'll cost you about $7.
3. You cannot use any apps outside the Apple App store unless you "jailbreak" it. Jailbreaking will void your warranty. We all already know Blackberry is open to all outside apps.
4. Home screen does not "flip" when turned to landscape. May be an app for that.
5. Scary to think what happens to this phone when the battery actually dies, since you can't replace it (not a reason to totally ditch the phone but worth noting).
A few things that were pretty sweet on the Iphone........
1. Safari. Very nice and extremely user friendly. Was very fast but I don't have anything to compare it with since my Blackberry could not use the 3G network. Hopefully RIMs new browser will be up to par.
2. A trillion apps..........Nuff said........It'll be quite awhile for Blackberry to catch up in that department. But my guess it that 95% of Apples apps are pretty useless.
3. No clicking. This is bitter/sweet for me. For typing, clicking is a MUST for me and I missed it dearly. But for larger "depressions" like icons and such where mistakes are minimal due to the fact of the larger area to push on, a simple tap on the screen was very nice. I wish a "tap not click" was an option on the Blackberry, as I would be tapping icons and clicking text.
Since RIM is sending out updated 9550 hardware (BlackBerry Storm2 Screen Improved-Verizon Wireless Returning Current Stock | BerryScoop) i went in to talk to the local VZW store and they confirmed that i could trade my current S2 on .320 with bottom button issues for a new unit. i will be going to pick it up tomorrow, and immediately installing .428 but what is the best way to back up ALL of the info on my current S2 before trading it in? i am talking contacts, profiles, apps, themes, etc. before the flames begin, i have searched/read many threads on this topic but they are always instructions for very old versions of DM and OS/hardware.

View 14 Replies View RelatedOk well friday i got a storm 2 and i let if go dead then i fully charged it. well i have only been getting around 12 hours of use out of it. today i only text and talked on the phone for less than 5 min. and i got 15 hours out of it. should i go to Verizon and complain and see if they will give me a new battery?

I use my pone pretty heavily, but another potential cause seems like leaving the phone in "global" or "world" mode... I live in germany, is this going to make a difference on which mode i use? View 7 Replies View RelatedI was scared today. So I wanted to charge up my phone in my charge station and found out that there was no charge going into the phone. I then tried to plug it into my computer and still no charge to the phone...So Now im scared!!!!
I then turn my phone off and power it back on to find out it say invalid sim card, and it still does not take any charge....Then I pull out the battery and restart the phone and the sim card is properly found, and it is now charging just fine. In the end everything turned out fine! What leads me to the question WHAT CANT A BATTERY PULL DO???When in doubt pull it out!( Not to be misinterpreted)
I got the storm 2 like 2 weeks ago and I loved it only problems were the back button wouldn't work like 40% of the time and my send button rarely worked. Well after reading that they were replacing them free I went to a verizon store today and of course when I took it in all the buttons worked. Well the guy still offered to exchange it for me. the whole thing took less than a half hour and he gave me a new battery just for the **** of it and the replacement is soo much better! All the buttons work and overall typing is soo much better on it now. I didn't think it would go that smoothly but so far I have had verizon almost 2 years and I have had great service with them since the start. Now I looked at the box and there was no green dot on it or anything and I haven't looked at the date under the battery yet cuz I have been using the phone alot and right now im listening to music but all the buttons work great and the back button dosent click like its on crack everytime I click it.

and to set ALL permissions to "allow".Seems like a funny couple of tips, seeing as how I told them the problem I had was intermittent loud volume and skipping songs randomly. I had also mentioned that album art was missing in the previous version of slacker--something that's been working since I upgraded BEFORE I emailed them.
anyway, that's what they told me to do. nothing else. sigh. No word of them working on a new release, which is what I wanted (chuckle) to hear.
My battery life really sucks, I have it on only 1EV, no gps, no wifi, and min apps and I still only get like a day of full battery with moderate use. My battery also charges from basically dead to full in like an hour or 2. I'm running .428 on my 9550, should I try to see what verizon can do? or can I do something on my end you think?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a storm 2 on the verizon network and for the past month my phone goes from full charge to completely dead over night while im sleeping. At first i thought maybe the phone or battery were defective but thats not the case. I noticed that when im at home my phone is constantly trying to connect to the net, and that my BBM and browser or any internet service on my phone completely shuts down. This causes my phone to constantly try to reconnect to these apps which in turn drains my battery. Outside of my home, the phone and internet work fine. The strange thing is that for the past 6 months the phone and internet worked great, but in the past month this began to occur. According to verizon there isnt an outage and all i keep hearing is to do a damn battery pull! Does anyone know what might be causing this problem; oh and even when im home the phone still displays a 3G signal, but still does not connect.

One thing I have to ask is I noticed my battery isnt as good as my old phone, I was searching around and noticed some people switch from Global to 1XEV, what exactly is the diffrence, I switched mine but havent had a chance to see what the diffrence is. I did notice that sometimes under my signal bars that it said 1X, then went to 3G, then i caught it earlier saying searching for CDMA(i think thats what it said"not sure").
I miss the owner information on a Storm2 when the device is locked.Having upgraded from a Storm to a Storm2 using the DM Device Switch Wizard, there is no owner information showing.
The owner information and the blue screen shows quickly up when the device is booted but not when it is locked. Does anybody know how to get the owner info back showing up on a locked screen or has an idea for a workaround?
I've had the S2 for a couple of months now. This week am in Vegas at a trade show and since arriving, the battery life is maybe 75% less. I checked to the limit of my ability to see if there is anything running that is not normally running, but find nothing.
I understand that there is a way to check what apps are running other than going to each app to check, but I don't know how to do that.
Any recommendations on programs for the storm2?
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo last night i charged my battery and it was full before i went to bed....in the morning however i woke up and the battery had somehow drained a good quarter of the way...i dont understand how this happend as it has never happend before but i know its not normal for the battery to drain that much with no useage at all.....has this happend to anyone else? What may be the reason for this.
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust got my S2 replacement and upgraded to .428 before I even did the swap devices with the DM, and now this phone is set up just like my last one with all the same apps and it is absolutely killing the battery. I dont know what it could be, I have went through and checked the obvious to make sure it was all good( brightness, 1XEV only, no apps running in the background or updating, wifi off etc). I've lost 10% in less than 20 mins after a full charge. Maybe delete all the apps and reload them one by one again?

When going to bed, the battery is almost fully charged. About 8 hours later it beeps and when checked the battery is dead.Phone is in standby, i.e. display off, and no apps running.I took it into Verizon and they had no clue.
