I'm after a replacement battery for my Desire and there seems to be quite a bit of choice power wise on ebay. what's the best I can get without having to go down the route of having an extended back cover?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI replaced the battery in my 16gb 3g and in the process of doing so broke the ring in the wifi cable where it is screwed to the housing after assembling everything, checking, double checking. iPhone will not turn on at all. At first I got a little red line showing a dead battery when I plugged it in, but I couldn't get it to turn on (pushed power and home button together, tried dfu etc etc). Opened it again to double check other cable connections, now it doesn't even show this red battery line anymore.
Does this cable just affect the antenna or could it have disrupted the whole iPhone from turning on?
I buought my phone 4 months ago. In last two weeks, i turn off the phone but it can't turn-on sometimes without replacament battery. It updated with SEUS twice (first boot after flashing, fails all time) but nothing changed. And also checked withouth sim card & sd card, that problem occurs.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy sister has a jailbroken iphone 2g on 3.0 firmware. We purchased the iphone when it first launched a few years ago. As of now, her phone's battery drains out very rapidly, even though she charged it for over a night. I am pretty sure the cause of the problem is from the old battery. My question is: is it worth the money and risk to change the battery, or should we just consider purchasing her a new iphone 3gs? Oh by the way, we live in China.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust over a week ago my Storm 1 began giving me problems. Basically died. Started to do an insurance claim but went to the store first. They said, we'll just do an insurance replacement overnight. Ok, received the replacement the next day. Activated it with no problems, went to charge it and it would not charge. (This was the old battery from the first phone since one was not sent with the replacement.) Plugged into USB on computer, went haywire. Took it back to store where they took an hour to reload the software. Took phone back home, did the exact same thing. I went back to the store, where they gave me a new charger. Went back home, then 2 days ago, the battery will not charge at all. Went back to Verizon, ended up having to buy a new battery. Charged it fully.
Clarification: It was at 30% charge when I left the store with the new battery. Charged at work during the day up to about 75%. When I got home I put it on the home charger for at least 4 hours. It never got above 85% full. This morning down to 70%, and now after charging for 2.5 hours, still won't go over 70% charged. What the heck! All I want is a phone that works! What can I do at this point? After replacing phone, charger AND battery! Heck, I'd be happy to just get another phone. Like maybe an 8530. I wonder if that's possible or would I have to get another Storm 1? What should I do at this point? Call CS? Go back to store?
It looks like my wife's 1 year old 3G iPhone's battery is toast - not holding a charge, and running out of juice extremely quickly.
Anyways as far as I can tell it will cost me 80 bucks - is that accurate?
Also is this something the apple store geniuses can do? Finally what's the general turn around time?
This is why I HATE non replaceable batteries. worst case, my wife will be w/o a phone for a period of time, perhaps one or two weeks.
If the geniuses can do it in short order that will be the best case scenario.
Just got my S2 replacement and upgraded to .428 before I even did the swap devices with the DM, and now this phone is set up just like my last one with all the same apps and it is absolutely killing the battery. I dont know what it could be, I have went through and checked the obvious to make sure it was all good( brightness, 1XEV only, no apps running in the background or updating, wifi off etc). I've lost 10% in less than 20 mins after a full charge. Maybe delete all the apps and reload them one by one again?

Also, no luck in pushing the sim cover off. I was worried the screen was going to crack due to the pressure I was exerting. I have a Desire and the cover on that is a doddle to remove?
View 1 Replies View RelatedNot sure if this has been mentioned on here before, there is a bug which makes the operating system power hungry all the time, it seems to cause the phone to lag if you try to run more than one thing at once, another thing you might notice is when opening the Gallery the pictures take ages to load. If you want to try changing the setting which cures all the above go to: menu, settings, applications, development then select USB Debugging. Give it a try, you can always change it back again if you're not convinced, I've found Gallery now loads almost instantly, boot up time is really quick, all screens are completely smooth when navigating around, never lags, Iplayer works much better and best of Battey life is massively better. There is another app to show how much power various parts of the phone is using, before the operating system was always around 35% for me, now its always around 2%. Just thought people might like to give it a try!

If it is charged to 100% first thing in the morning it barely lasts til tea time before the red warning battery low comes on. I normally send about 50 - 60 texts during that period and hardly make phone calls or go online
View 2 Replies View RelatedHad my HTC Desire for about a week now; brilliant phone Although the battery life is not poor (lasts about a day and a half/ two days with little use), when I check to see what is draining the battery, it seems to always be maps that is the culprit, even though I am now (knowingly) using the maps application or GPS etc.
I have done a little research and it seems that is could be the 'use wireless networks' option that is causing this so I have just now disabled this and will see how it goes. Any reasons as to why maps might be showing up as using the largest (if not, second largest) chunk of battery power?
I've read the initial charge just needs make the charging indicator turn green as the current is switched off by the phone then. Part way through the first charge I identically turned it on, I shut it down straight away, will this cause a problem with the battery capacity? I've read it should be a constant charge or are battries these days much more robust?

I can't see them in Gallery any more. Luckily due to the backup software Astro, i have got my Pictures back but I can't locate my videos anywhere. The rep on the phone told me that they're out of stock of 3GS phones, but my replacement would be shipped whenever they receive more. However, I know the local Rogers stores won't be getting anymore 32GB 3GS model in since we're so close to the new one coming out, is there anyway that they'd give me an iPhone as a replacement? View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter a bad experience with an 'authorized' Nokia service centre, I am now in the need to replace my display.
After the repair of the USB hatch, the display gave a problem - and when we told them they seem to have fitted a different display. The display now goes completely dark whenever the backlight is off, and also has very bad legibility in daylight even with backlight.
I don't really trust the service centre anymore, and am going to replace the display myself. I want to ask my friends around if they are dumping any compatible phone - so that I can use their display. Do you know if there are any other phones where same display as N82 is used?

My initial reaction was to reject all of them as I feel they all fall under the Mid Range umbrella, while the N97 is marketed as High End so I expect a high end replacement.
Does Apple give you a hard time if you are getting a replacement for a replacement phone? I swapped mine for a battery issue but I am now having proximity / dropped call issues pretty bad... which I didn't have before. Will they give me a hard time if I want to try another replacement? Anyone get more than 1 replacement from the Genius bar?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI own an unlocked Storm 2 on Vodafone and it's having the same screen issues described by VZW owners. I am not a Vodafone or Verizon customer. I'm actually on AT&T. VZW is doing a replacement program as we are all aware.
My questions are as follows:
1) Is there any way I can have my S2 replaced under any sort of warranty?
2) If no to (1) what would I need to do about getting it fixed?
cracked mine and was curious if there's any cheap replacements out there to fix me up until I get my next phone.I checked around, but can't even find them.
