Nov 22, 2014Like others, I tried the software update, and then my phone constantly got stuck at the four little circles at start up. I followed some instructions I found on AndroidPit:
1. From a powered off state, press the Power button to start your Nexus 5. When you see the Google logo press and hold the Volume Down key and release when the device vibrates.
2. Use the volume keys to highlight Recovery Menu and press the Power button to select. This will bring you to a screen with an Android on its back.
3. Hold the Volume Up key for 5 secs then release and a new menu will appear.
4. First off, you can use the volume keys to select Wipe Cache Partition. This will cause your phone to restart. once this is done, re-do the previous steps to get back to the same screen (the one that Wipe Cache Partition was on).
5. Highlight Wipe Data/Factory Reset and select using the Power key. Scroll down to Yes, Delete All Data and press the Power button again to select.
6. Your Nexus 5 will now wipe your data and reformat.
7. On the next screen hit the Power button to select Reboot System Now.
It has been 40 minutes now and it's stuck on 'Formatting /data'. Is this normal?
I've only had this phone for a couple of months and it was functioning perfectly until now I haven't rooted it or anything.

Nov 7, 2015So I flashed the latest firmware, after being unlocked, then rent back to bootloader, flashed recovery, went to recovery and installed file. Then restarted...now stuck in boot loop. It booted before I went to flash recovery in the new firmware just fine.
Do you need to flash something else when you flash recovery?
it says device is corrupt when I restart, but I was under the impression that screen comes up when bootloader is unlocked, so not sure if it means anything...

Aug 10, 2015So I'm running PAC ROM; I have a slight issue, I want stock GApps on my phone to add some features I've been wanting. When I flash it (tk_gapps-stock-5.1.1-20150809-signed.zip) on the official Nexus 5 lolipop ROM I got an error message, I read it and it says that I need to flash is ontop of another TK GApps, unless I wipe my cashe partition. So I wiped my Davlick Cashe and Cashe. Still have me the same message.

Nov 29, 2013I pulled my phone out a bit ago and my LED Notification LED was flashing blue at me. I checked the notification area and there was nothing there. I checked my settings in Light Flow Lite and checked the three areas it was controlling that had a bluish light set. Nothing there (I even changed the colors of those notifications - no change). I looked around the phone as much as I could figure out and could find nothing. I finally had to reboot the phone to get the light to go off.

Jul 20, 2014So this morning I woke up to my phone on a boot loop on the Google Logo. I have no custom roms or mods on it other than I am running ART. I suspect it could be battery related as it will only seem to do this on the charger but when I don't have it plugged in it won't even start up. When it's plugged in it won't even seem to want to stay "off", it boots up to the google logo on its own. If I hold down the volume rocker I can get into the bootloader but it resets before I can select anything and boots right back into the google logo.

So I flashed newest twrp and flashed 6.0.1 bootloader and radio.img via fastboot using wugfresh tool and the files from the thread on here. now when trying to get into recovery, I am stuck at the google logo.

Nov 4, 2015today I installed the new android 6.0 factory image, rooted it (used the modified boot.img from the previous build) and installed supersu 2.52 and blu spark kernel. Everything good until i deleted some apps (gmail, webview, youtube and other NON CRITICAL apps, like I ALWAY DO SINCE KITKAT), then rebooted and my phone is stuck at the Google logo, not even the bootanimation shows up.. Tried to reflash the boot.img, wipe cache, wipe data, factory reset but nothing.. The only thing that worked is to reflash the factory image! What am I doing wrong? Happened 2 times in a row so something must be wrong.. Another thing, I can't access TWRP every time, sometimes it skips and boots directly..

Today I got a "broken" nexus 5 that is in boot loop with the google logo and it wont boot into any .img
At the start i read the pinned posts and found this tutorial: [URL] ...
followed it step by step. but unfortunately it didnt work in my situation. there werent any errors or such kind. I also tried this tutorial with other images but nothing worked.
When i go to the recovery mode and press the power button the phone get into the google logo and i can see some sort of strange stripes in like a milisecond but then it just gets into the boot loop.
i really think ive tried everything accept for relocking the bootloader but cant imaging that this could be the problem.

Aug 3, 2015I was using the Cataclysm Rom for months without any problems. Today I restarted my phone (I do this every other day, when it gets a little bit slow) and it stuck in bootloop.
I tried wiping dalvik/cache, doing a factory reset, reflashing Cataclysm, nothing worked. So I decided to go back to stock (using [URL] ....) and I'm still stuck in a bootloop every time. I can access and use fastboot/stock recovery in the normal way, but it won't boot.. What I could do?

Jan 1, 2016I tried to root my phone, but I cant get past flashing the superSU.
I am running the latest version of android and I tried both TWRP and CWM.. I get to flash the custom recovery and boot up, but as soon as I try to flash SuperSU the phone gets stuck into bootloop. (also when I use CWM phone automaticly overwrites the custom recovery to stock, I know how to fix this but I must get the root access first though...)
Currently I reflashed factory Images and I am using my phone completely naked only with vital apps. But I am not willing to back down, I would like to find the fix and Root it till the end.
Google Nexus 5 :: Stuck On Google Startup Screen
Sep 5, 2015I was sitting down with my nexus on my leg with about 40% battery left when it suddenly turned off and then flicked to the google startup page before going blank. After attempting to turn it on again (to no avail), I resorted to plugging it in, which resulted in the phone looping on the google page then vibrating before repeating. I tried to get it into the bootloader menu, but it appeared and then reverted to the google page after the phone vibrated.
I've tried looking up solutions, but the only plausible situation for me seems to be returning it so the warranty can take over. The only hitch with that being that the bootloader is unlocked (not rooted, just the bootloader). I really am stuck, and do not know what to do

Dec 29, 2015One fine day, my nexus 5 started hanging up while booting. After the google Logo, the Marshmallow animation would show up and then it would hang and power off. I have no problem in doing a factory reset/wipe of my phone. But the only thing i want to save is my contacts. I have tried erasing and re-flashing system, cache, boot and boot-loader. Using ADB, flashing the cache always fails........
However, i have not touched userdata as i think it would affect the contacts too. I have even tried using different custom recoveries such as CWM, TWRP and even Philz Touch to use adb to pull my SD card files to my PC. Even flashing the system is not working now.... (atleast that's what my results were) .

Feb 23, 2016Is it possible to make a backup of bootloader? If it is, how? I am not talking about kernel (boot.img is the kernel, correct?), system, recovery, or data. Bootloader.My Nexus 5 came with bootloader version hhz11n. The factory image from Google (4.4.4) has bootloader version hhz11k.
How different these two are, but since hhz11n image can't be found anywhere, I want to back it up before flashing to Lollipop or Marshmallow.
My Nexus is still running 4.4.4, bootloader unlocked, rooted, with TWRP installed.

Jan 28, 2015I had the problem of random restarts after lollipop update (exactly afte rsometime i changed to pattern security )and i gave to service center and they told its OS issues and downgraded to 4.4.4. After that i installed all my apps in 4.4.4 (standard apps like banking, skype etc..) and used it for a while. when i tried to use screen lock as "Pin" this rebooting issue starting again? I managed to change it to "Swipe" and did wipe cache partition, and till now (for last 45mins atleast) its running okay.

Oct 29, 2015I have flashed various version 5 stock firmware's and the latest 6.0 using nexus tool kit, as well as specifically flashing only stock recovery using the tool kit and I cannot load into the stock recovery. I've spent hours looking for information on manually flashing the stock recovery without the tool kit but have found the instructions very vauge. Any information on flashing manually only the recovery would be very useful or information on why I may be having this issue.
I know every time i flash a rom it only shows about half of my internal storage. I have a 32gb version. So I end up having to go into a recovery "temp flashed" using the tool kit in order to clear some information and then i get my 32gb's back.
I"m wondering if the space being auto allocated or partitioned is interfering with the flash of the recovery..

Well whenever it does that I also have to reflash system but now when I try to flash a rom, it gets to the installing system part in twrp and hangs, then reboots at the google logo until I enter recovery again. Dec 29, 2015My Nexus 5 is stuck at the flying dots after Lollipop OTA update. Already try factory reset. Cant connect to my Lap (running Windows 10) because it says in the device manager: Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed), so I cant manually update the driver and cant access it with ADB and Fastboot tool. The device has no USB debugging enabled. In the old computer where I used to connect the device and has the drivers installed says the same thing in device manager as my new laptop.
