View 1 RepliesI was using the Cataclysm Rom for months without any problems. Today I restarted my phone (I do this every other day, when it gets a little bit slow) and it stuck in bootloop.
I tried wiping dalvik/cache, doing a factory reset, reflashing Cataclysm, nothing worked. So I decided to go back to stock (using [URL] ....) and I'm still stuck in a bootloop every time. I can access and use fastboot/stock recovery in the normal way, but it won't boot.. What I could do?
How can I prevent Auto-Reboot of my Nexus 5 after flashing an Official Factory Image? I've tried to add
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
ping -n 5 127.0.0.1 >nul
after
Code:
fastboot -w update image-hammerhead-xxxxxx.zip
onflash-all.batbut the Nexus reboot anyway.
There is another command or option that work, or any other way for that?
I had on my nexus 5 custom recovery, custom kernel (franco) and paranoid android rom (rooted). I wanted to get back to stock and flashed factory image lollipop 5.1 doint this
adb devices
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash bootloader <bootloader-filename>.img
fastboot flash radio <radio-fileame>.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash cache cache.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot reboot
When i rebooted i noticed that everything was fine but i had paranoid android rather than stock rom! What happened?
i have a nexus 5 rooted on stock android 5.1.1 . I am trying to flash the 5.1.1 factory image to unroot my device. But unfortunately i just get this message when its trying to flash the system.img and my device is now bricked target reported max download size of 1073741824 bytes load file:could not allocate 1073741824 bytes error: cannot load 'system.img' : not enough space.

I always get this error whenever I try to flash the Nexus 5 with using the flash-all file, I installed Android Studio, restarted my PC, even got the 6.0 factory image. None work and I always get that error? I'm trying to restart this Nexus 5 for my dad. The Nexus 5 is rooted with franco kernel and TWRP but on stock ROM.
So this may be a stupid question, but this is my first Nexus device. I will have a 6P delivered Thursday and plan to unlock, decrypt, and install TWRP. The guides so far reference using MDB08K, and the modified boot is only for this version currently. After I install TWRP, am I able to install the factory image for the latest MDB08M and just exclude flashing certain images? Or do I need to flash them all then wait for a new modified boot image for 08M and install TWRP over again?

I'm not complaining because I much prefer my theme then the stock theme but I'm just curious as to why it stuck

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was on 4.4.2 until two days ago when I flashed (for the first time, with success.. I think) to 4.4.3. Of course my bootloader was locked so when I unlocked it I lost my data, even with removing the -w flag in the batch file. Anyhow, here is what I had in my platform tools folder before executing the script to flash:
Notice that I don't have a system image in the directory. While the command prompt was executing, I noticed that it said "unable to find system.img" yet, when all was said and done, my phone rebooted, and it shows me on 4.4.3 now. I'm assuming it was successful because all the features of my phone work and it shows 4.4.3 like everyone else, but I'm still worried that the initial system img file wasn't in the directory. Should I go ahead and make sure ALL the img files (not just bootloader and radio) are in platform tools folder and re-flash again? Luckily I won't lose everything this time since my bootloader is unlocked and I will simply keep -w removed from the batch file.
I haven't done a factory reset yet but I would love to avoid it if possible.
I went to take a picture of the wife's newly decorated Christmas tree and the stock camera fails to fully start. It behaves as if it can not use the hardware. When I look at the back there is a small red light/laser that refuses to go out unless the phone is rebooted.
I've rebooted the phone a few times and tried Manual Camera and a couple others .. same behavior.
The phone is running 6.0.1 and is rooted.
Bought a nexus 5 for the youger bro last year and rooted so he could install kodi. What ever messing about he has done there is no image on the phone so is soft bricked. The phone waas rooted and the boot loader unlocked also you can access twrp. What can i do to restore from a nexus 5 image as i have no backups.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI bought a used Nexus 5 a few days ago and it has worked fine till today.
When I bought it, I checked every function of the phone on the spot to see if it was okay. It was rooted and a custom recovery and ROM was on it. I brought it home and flashed the factory image from Google. Worked fine till today.
Today, the phone turned itself off, first it showed a black screen, then a dimly lit but still black. I tried to turn it on but it shows a pixelated screen like this:
I then searched a lot: [URL] .....
I tried everything on these pages, but I couldn't solve my problem.
After a while, the phone turns off (with flickering screen) due to battery drain and if I plug it to my computer, it turns on with a dimly lit black screen then off, but I can access the storage on Windows.
I tried to open the bootloader, but it won't open. If I had been successful at accessing the bootloader, I would have easily reset the phone.
Nexus 5
32 GB
LTE version
Stock Android 5.1.1
Not rooted
I even removed the SIM
When I copy text containing images in android 4.4.4 and paste it somewhere else, the text pastes but none of the images.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running Cataclysm ROM (the Sept. 10 beta), Franco kernel, and I'm rooted and use Xposed. I receive this error when I try to add a card in Android Pay: "Android Pay cannot be used: Google is unable to verify that your device of the software running on it is Android compatible". I tried disabling root entirely and using RootCloak (Xposed) to hide root from Android Pay and Google Wallet, but I still can't use Pay. Wallet still works as it always has.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I'm running PAC ROM; I have a slight issue, I want stock GApps on my phone to add some features I've been wanting. When I flash it (tk_gapps-stock-5.1.1-20150809-signed.zip) on the official Nexus 5 lolipop ROM I got an error message, I read it and it says that I need to flash is ontop of another TK GApps, unless I wipe my cashe partition. So I wiped my Davlick Cashe and Cashe. Still have me the same message.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I am lagging behind a little in the updates department. I am currently on kitkat 4.4.4 (towelrooted, TWRP recovery with system files modified). AFAIK, i can't use the OTA update I received months ago for 5.0. Is there anyway I can upgrade (without wiping any data), to 6.0? If not, what would be the best way to upgrade to 5.0 (not a clean install/wipe)?
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust got a replacement device from moto, and I wanted to flash build E for 5.1, I am currently running build E, but when I was flashing the newer build I forgot to have the phone update to 5.0.1, so I jumped from 5.0 straight to 5.1. Should I have updated to 5.0.1 then to 5.1?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI pulled my phone out a bit ago and my LED Notification LED was flashing blue at me. I checked the notification area and there was nothing there. I checked my settings in Light Flow Lite and checked the three areas it was controlling that had a bluish light set. Nothing there (I even changed the colors of those notifications - no change). I looked around the phone as much as I could figure out and could find nothing. I finally had to reboot the phone to get the light to go off.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI tried to root my phone, but I cant get past flashing the superSU.
I am running the latest version of android and I tried both TWRP and CWM.. I get to flash the custom recovery and boot up, but as soon as I try to flash SuperSU the phone gets stuck into bootloop. (also when I use CWM phone automaticly overwrites the custom recovery to stock, I know how to fix this but I must get the root access first though...)
Currently I reflashed factory Images and I am using my phone completely naked only with vital apps. But I am not willing to back down, I would like to find the fix and Root it till the end.
Flashing a ROM and got stuck on the checking connection page in set up if so how did you fix it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am generally satisfied with Google's Camera app for the Nexus 5; however, there is one feature I could really use - a Horizon Level indicator. I am taking most of my pictures using a 16:9 aspect ratio/6 megapixels setting, and for landscape pictures a Horizon Level indicator would keep them aligned. I have looked at a couple of apps which include this option (Camera Awesome and HD Camera), but from what I can see, neither provide a high image resolution/16:9 combination - in both cases I think it is around 2 megapixels.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOne fine day, my nexus 5 started hanging up while booting. After the google Logo, the Marshmallow animation would show up and then it would hang and power off. I have no problem in doing a factory reset/wipe of my phone. But the only thing i want to save is my contacts. I have tried erasing and re-flashing system, cache, boot and boot-loader. Using ADB, flashing the cache always fails........
However, i have not touched userdata as i think it would affect the contacts too. I have even tried using different custom recoveries such as CWM, TWRP and even Philz Touch to use adb to pull my SD card files to my PC. Even flashing the system is not working now.... (atleast that's what my results were) .
