May 9, 2015I did both Lollipop updates, wiped the cache partition and did a factory reset after each update.. and still things are not quite right.
When I press the recent apps button it shows the recent apps - fine. But after I pull the battery and restart the phone, shouldn't there be nothing showing? Because even after taking the battery out and restarting it shows me a whole bunch...some that I didn't even have open before.
I also notice that the top two things showing in the GSAM Battery Monitor App Usage are Android System (14-18%) and Kernel (Android OS) (12-15%).
I'm having various other issues too.. it tends to get pretty hot. Sometimes I can be typing an email and then suddenly the phone takes me back to my inbox and what I was typing is gone..

Nov 23, 2015Ok, to try and clarify...I have had all of the Samsung Galaxy S phones except the S5. I've moved all my photos & screen shots from them to my pc over time, generally via Kies or usb transfer. I've noticed that I have now got a huge number of .png files dated from about 2012 onwards that I can't open. Previous png files can be opened-they appear to be screenshots or the like. So I don't know what has happened. They can't be opened using any of the options on my pc. (I recently changed to Windows 10 from 8, but it was doing this prior to that) I can't re save them because they can't be opened, nor does changing the file name allow them to be opened.
I've also noticed that my current S6 makes all my screenshots .png files as well. The only way around this at the moment is to upload them to Google drive and change it to a jpeg file at the time. I have to do this for each shot one at a time. I'm assuming I can then move these across from Google drive as jpeg.
So, I need to know how to change the default on my S6 from .png to .jpeg for screen shots. How to change my previous .png files back to jpeg so I can open them! I have copied all of them to a usb stick and tried to open them on my work computer, but that also won't open them under any program. I realise that isn't an Android issue in itself, but as all of these images have come from my Galaxy S phones originally, I don't want to delete them without being able to see them as I might want to keep them...but without knowing what they are...

Jul 14, 2010I just recently got the Nokia E-72 and after getting a new memory card just yesterday for it I am no longer able to open the Ovi Store application that was already installed on the phone. I also just installed the Ovi Suite on my computer and when it requests to install the "Support software" my phone just gives me the simple error of "Unable to install" with a red symbol next to the words. I also tried installing the Ovi Store from the web and I get the same Unable to Install error that I get when trying to install the Support Software. I already checked the "application manager" it is allows all applications to be installed. I've also tried reinstalling the software via the Ovi Suite and that doesn't do anything either. I looked up how to hard reset the phone as well, and I hold the correct buttons+the top power button at the same time while the phone is of f but it doesn't seem like it does anything when the phone comes back on.
I wouldn't mind getting the phone to go back to square one as I haven't had the phone long enough to miss much besides my contacts which I can just synchronize. So if someone could tell me a solution or tell me how to bring my phone back to factory settings I would greatly appreciate it. I have tried restoring to factory settings and the Ovi Store will still not open from my phone, it acts like it wants to (briefly flashes as if its opening) and will just go back to the menu screen. Even after restoring to factory settings I still cannot install the "support software". The phone merely says "Unable to install" and leaves it at that.
