Galaxy S6 :: Keeps Telling About No Data Connection?
Jun 26, 2015
For instance whenever i go to the Sprint Music Plus store to purchase ring backs i may pick an artist and choose
1)"more from this artist"
2)"you might also like "....
Whenever I choose one of those choices it will say " no results found" and then a white box appears and says" error- no data connection, make sure your device is connected " ??
since upgrading to IOS 8, I am constantly getting warnings that from apps that mobile data is turned off. This happens when connected via WiFi and even when opening Settings - the place where you turn mobile data on and off! How can I disable this annoying alert and has a bug been submitted as it is incor behaviour to moan about mobile data when INET connectivity is present via WiFi.Â
BTW, this interface for this site is tragically bad when using an iPhone 5 in landscape mode. It doesn't "just work"
I just got an S6 and oddly enough, a new computer as well. The computer has USB 3.0 ports on the front panel and USB 2.0 ports on the back. I've discovered that when I plug my phone into the rear ports, the phone starts charging and Windows recognizes the phone as a storage device and opens explorer. However when I plug my phone into any of the front ports, it charges the phone but Windows does not recognize it as a storage device.
I thought USB was supposed to be universal. Shouldn't I be able to use a 3.0 port on a phone and just have it work slower if the device itself is not 3.0 compatible?
Yesterday i used the the mobile data connection just as normal. I downloaded from the store and everything. Then i was back in wlan. I tried Fring. I wanted to try Fring also on 3G or Edge or HDSPA or whatever comes out from my handy and goes into the air ^^ I don't know anymore. So I turned off my wlan and was down. No internet anymore and even there was no icon in the toolbar.
I turned my phone on and off, unistalled every app i installed since the last time it worked, which was just an hour before that. The things i installed were: A brightness widget (appears under volume controll if you press the volume buttons. I forgot the name.) and "Quicksettings", which leeded to uninstalling the first mentioned unit. After that didn't help either, i changed the card in my phone with another from the same provider. It didn't work. In the same move i put my card to another smartphone and got a connection. Conclusion: Either my phone is misconfigured (which i hope for) or it's broken (which would suck but i have warrenty left).
I even tried to let my provider send me the right connection data and saved them. Nothing...I know there is the way of getting back to factory settings, but i only want to try that if i'm running out of possibilities. And of course i don't want to lose my app data. my phone is not rooted now and i know i have to, to save my app data and apps (which sucks. 1-0 for the iPhone). I you have only ideas that could be done by rooting my phone i would do so, but i would rather avoid that because of the 'maybe warranty loose'.
I have a Galaxy S6 (64G) from AT&T. I've been having problems receiving Whatsapp notifications when the screen is turned off for a while. I measured that it takes about 10-15 minutes after the screen is turned Off using the web interface for whatsapp. I have enabled notifications to always allow pop ups in the appI checked that restrict background data is not enabled for WhatsppI have set Whatsapp notifications as priority under App notificationsChecked to make sure that So not disturb is set to OFF.
After the connection is dropped I see all the missed messages and notifications showing up only after opening the app. This has been very annoying and I've been unable to respond to important messages in a timely manner if the phone has been idle for a while.
My previous phone was HTC Wildfire S (stock Android 2.3.3) and I was able to receive and send MMS with data connection turned off. Simply, when I send MMS phone automatically turn on data connection. Same, when somebody send MMS to me, Wildfire S automatically turn on data connection and retrieve MMS. Now I am using Samsung Galaxy S2. I have to keep data connection always on if I want to send and receive MMS. I don't want data connection to be always on because I haven't flat data plan. I tried Quick Setting app. It change APN for internet and keeps data connection always on (do not modify MMS settings). At this way I can use MMS normally, but my battery drain for just 8 hours!
I have a telus (Canadian) TP2 And am currently traveling in the USA.I have set me data connection to off, but it keeps turning itself back on. I am not using any apps, I have all automated programs like weather updates, ms myphone set to non sync.I just logged into telus website to see i hvae a $23.00 data charge for today. How do I turn this off and leave it off?
My phone/GPS usage does not justify spending $30/month ($360/year) on a data plan.My E66 with the originally installed Nokia Maps will display my real-time current position on US maps without any data connection. This works just fine to me in the US. However I want to add Belgium and England to my map set.Question 1: Will I lose any existing functionality if I install Ovi Maps? Does Ovi Maps require a data connection to track your current position? Question 2: Are there any easier ways to do what I want to do (add Belgium and England to my map set so that I can find my current position as I can do with US maps).
this bb bold 9900 is my first bb. been using this for the past 2 months and was great. suddenly over these past few days, sometimes i cant get data conection. ping and dns lookup is ok.
So I do not have a data plan on my blackberry, so no email no web, I use it strictly for phone calls, text messaging and picture taking. I want to transfer my pictures and my sms text messages from my phone to my computer. I would also love to transfer my ringtones if possible but I will not push my luck on that one. I do not have a microsd card in my phone so everything is saved directly to the phone itself. I have tried hooking up my phone to my computer via usb but it does not allow me to go into the phone and copy things over to my computer. I have also downloaded and tried the blackberry desktop manager but it wants me to turn on mass media storage which is not going to help me because there is no microsd card in my phone. I want to save everything to my computer because I bought a new phone that is NOT a blackberry and I want to have my files saved on my computer.
I have been and forth with tech support at Rogers at least 8 times over the past 4 days trying to get my BB Torch's data services to function properly. The sim is in...shows 3G (but no dots) and I have the device registered on my BIS account. I can call and text but I can't PIN nor can I setup email accounts etc. NOTE: my BB Torch has never worked yet with my SIM...They have tried everything but now say it has been escalated to their higher up support engineers and that it will take 3-5 business days to get back to me.
I have a strange problem that occurred today after a year of using Z2 without any issues.I've connected my phone to PC to drop/backup some important photos I've made with Win explorer (as usual, sd card, copy, paste to C:userdocumentsphoto... etc.)
And after the backup copying was complete I saw in explorer that 6 Gigabytes in Sd card were gone. I went back to see if photos copied properly and they did, but Z2 has erased also movies, settings, music and e-books from SD card... it went completely stock with only android folder on board.
Restarted the phone, see if it will recover SD itself but all media was gone, in settings, application some of the sony apps were dated to February 1970 ?!?! There was no background defocus and AR effect in 1970 right?? Scanned the phone and Win7 with Avast, Spybot 2015 and BitDefender... all devices and PC are clean and protected.
This has been happening since 5.0.1 and each update they put out. I've tried all the reccomended fixes on the forums, and other places online, disableing the location services doens't help, airplane mode doesn't even help, I have to reboot the phone each time it happens. No web data, no email, no iMessages... what gives? never had issues on a jailbroken 3gs, but tried to get the new "improved" version and keep it legit.
since the last FW update the data connection is always on is connects automatically after manually disconnection it. It is creating around 200 to 300MB of traffic per day.Checking in the connection manager it is the App Messaging.Checking with the App "DataWatch" the application neasserver creates the traffic. It could be somehow linked with the Exchange Mail client?
I did a "Repair Phone" inside PCCompanion (in order to do a clean install of the OS). Afterwards I no longer have 3G data connection (no internet browser, e-mail, etc). I am able to make voice calls, but absolutely no data connection. My "Wireless & Network" setting shows that the "Data Enable" is on. I called my carrier and there is nothing wrong with my account. I tried putting the SIM into another smart phone (iPhone), and everything works fine.
I have a blackberry Curve 8520, version of OS is v5.0.0.592 (Bundle 1096, Platform 5.2.0.64)
The problem im facing with my phone currently is with data loss. the phone constantly shows EDGE but i still cant send/receieve emails, send/receieve Bbm and also cant load webpages.
When i try sending a message to a friend on BBM, i see a "red clock" sign Is this a problem with my handset or is it just a network problem?
I read a few posts on the forum but all were 2009 based. I did run a diagnostic test too but the results say Abort under all cases.
Have Xperia Neo and runs on the latest Android 2.3.4.It loses data connection and never gets back unless phone is switched off and on again. The network connection is available.
Phone loses any data connection (wi-fi/3g/edge/...) when screen is turned off everyday starting midnight till morning! That's very annoying - I need my messenger to be online even after midnight.
[URL] So according this faq, certain functions don't work with a generic data plan, they only work if you have the Blackberry data plan. If I have a Wi-Fi connection, does that equate to a "generic data plan", thus Blackberry functions won't work over it?My data plan is unlimited, which is good, but it's really slow compared to my home broadband, so that's not good. I'd like it to default to using my Wi-Fi connection as much as possible.
My iPhone 6 is about three weeks old and it keeps losing its data signal. I'm on AT&T and have good coverage throughout my area (never an issue with my 4s). The result is that when I'm off of wifi I periodically can't use Siri/internet/visual voicemail. It comes back if I completely restart my phone. This started happening a few days ago sporadically but I'm losing the data connection multiple times a day now. What's going on?
I found that even if I set Ovi maps to "offline", it still sends and receives packet data while the gps is in use. I started a route and after stopping it, I checked the "Log' and I can see more data send and received recorded. I do not have a data plan and would like to know if I am incurring charges in this case. I have a-gps and gps set, so I'm guessing these packets might be due to a-gps? Without a-gps and with gps alone the performance will be pretty bad, right? I have t-mobo and nokia 5230.
On a fairly regular basis, once an hour approx, my N86 beeps and a message appears on the screen stating that a " data packet connection received". This also happens when I'm on a call and beeps in my ear. This is only a minor annoyance but an annoyance nevertheless. Any idea what this is and what I can do about it?
I have a Nokia N97 and carrier service through AT&T. I subscribe to a monthly packet data plan which I have been using with my N97 for several months without issue. Several days ago my phone was no longer able to connect to the internet using my packet data connection. I was only unable to use the data connection with certain applications. The data connection would not work with the Ovi Store shortcut, Nokia Maps, the Nokia Web application, or the AP News widget. However, I was able to receive emails on Nokia Messaging through my data connection, and I was able to run my Fring application on it as well. I performed a hard reset which did not fix the problem.
I tried to adjust my network mode under the connectivity setting from Dual Mode to GSM, but that also did not have any effect. I then tried to run the setting wizard through phone setup to have it define my operator settings for internet, ect. After the wizard updated my settings I am now able to access the internet through the Nokia web application using my data connection. But maps and the ovi store still cannot connect using this connection.I have tried changing the connection settings under the maps application, but this has made no difference. Any help or advice would be very appreciated.
I have E63 which I bought & used in Australia (vodafone) for calls and internet there.phone is unlocked and have been using it in holland (telfort) for calls for the last 6 months.subsrcibed internet last week through provider. had several contacts with customerservice and put in all the right settings. now internet works on other phone, but on my Nokia E63 it says "Packet data: packet data connection not available"
There seems to be a problem with the map upgrade. The data connection always goes on if I use the internet. Just browsing turns the data connection always on. I have been unable to find a fix for this. Unless I just reboot the phone or terminate the data link manually. There is no reason for this to happen. I am not running any program in the background that I can see that demands constant data connection. If it was, I would have disabled it long time ago.
But just browsing the internet seems to turn on the constant data connection. From what I can best tell. This started after I upgraded to the newest versions of map. It is my suspicion this has something to do with the new software that checks the location of the phone to gather information about local events. But I cannot find that program anywhere running to terminate it once it starts. But it is visible in the program add menu on where widget can be added to the home screen.
