View 1 RepliesI have the Nokia Lumia 710 (T-Mobile USA). and Today as i was on a filming set being an Assistant Director, i thought pictures would be nice to take and post on facebook for the whole crew to see.
I took about 30 pictures. i went back home and plugged in the phone to Zune. Zune says "Error reading files, disconnect and reconnect, if problem persists contact support" (do not remember the error accuratly as i am still upset but it means the same).
I disconnect/reconnect several times. with nothing. i tried changing dates on both computer and device, still nothing. untill i restarted the device.
this time it syncs fine, it just does NOT sync the NEW pictures and i can only see them on the phone. i delete all and only old pictures (from Zune) untill there was nothing left. now remember Zune does not see the new pictures so they were not selected (and yes i checked sync all in settings).I delete all pictures from Zune (all except new ones that are not even visible), to OPEN CAMERA ROLL ON THE PHONE AND NOT FIND ANY PICTURES LEFT!no USB mass storage (ohhh i can hack it with registry... really, microsoft????)no Arabic support (iOS has native support for all languages and it is NOT market dependent)
I would like to thank you for past Nokia phones and Symbian OS although buggy and updates were merely innovative.but, Microsoft have saved your a$$ from being thrown out of the smartphone market from lack of innovation (no matter how dodgy Android is, i kinda started liking it again after NOW). and Now for me to buy a Nokia device that loses data, ONLY controlled by Zune AND an OS as buggy as my dog **bleep**... that is something unbelievable.
i have left Apple's iOS for you guys, and the iPhone never ever gave me corrupt data messages or lost anything before, i only switched because i am loyal to Nokia and thought of it as an oppurtunity to get back on the Nokia wagon. Do you really want bad word of mouth?
this Mango release is so buggy and incomplete, i cannot even LOCK ORIENTATION, i CANNOT TETHER, so many software-based features are missing. So you compensated the lack of innovation with deeply integrated social networking.that is very good but the phone is unreliable and i am scared to use it again. Battery life is not that great, users are BEGGING for updates like beggers on the street, i would very much like Nokia to completly bankrupt right now. thats how i am upset.
I need someone from Nokia to contact me and show me how to restore those valuable pictures, or i demand compensation.
My phone cannot go into the internet explorer and displays the network issue. I have restarted my phone, checked my data plan if its on, and have taken out the sim card and placed it back in. None seem to work. However, wifi is working properly and I can see the display of 4G and LTE on. =/
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else having a problem with their Lumia 822 losing it's data connection? My phone loses it's data connection at least once a day. The only way I have found to get it back, is to turn the phone off and back on, which is a pain. It seems to happen a lot at night, but has happened a couple of times during the day. It can be hours before I notice that nothing is coming in or updating.

View 1 Replies View Relatedsing an unlocked Lumia 800, on operator Claro BR. I have noticed that sometimes the phone downgrades my data connection speed to EDGE and it only shows up the HSPA icon again if I turn off-on the phone. I have tried turing the data connection off and on but it does not work.I noticed that it is more common for it to drop the data connection speed when I go from home to work or vice-versa (it probably changes to another cellular network antenna). But even if I stay in a single location, after a few hours the connection drops too.

after updating my Lumia 1020 to 10549, I can't access any data anymore. No cellular, no wifi. Can't turn wifi on..
View 2 Replies View RelatedPush notifications such as WhatsApp, FB and E-Mail etc all arrive 5-20 minutes late when on a cellular data connection for me. They work fine on WiFi and arrive instantly.
My Lumia 1020 had no issues before my 950. I have strong signal and it happens in multiple areas...
This happens periodically. I can't connect to Internet even if LTE is displayed on my signal bar.

I want to take my 1020 with me to take tons of pics but it is certain that I will run out of space on it eventually. I want to be able to move photos off of the phone quickly and easily without Data / Internet or a PC.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy phone/GPS usage does not justify spending $30/month ($360/year) on a data plan.My E66 with the originally installed Nokia Maps will display my real-time current position on US maps without any data connection. This works just fine to me in the US. However I want to add Belgium and England to my map set.Question 1: Will I lose any existing functionality if I install Ovi Maps? Does Ovi Maps require a data connection to track your current position? Question 2: Are there any easier ways to do what I want to do (add Belgium and England to my map set so that I can find my current position as I can do with US maps).

It is creating around 200 to 300MB of traffic per day.Checking in the connection manager it is the App Messaging.Checking with the App "DataWatch" the application neasserver creates the traffic. It could be somehow linked with the Exchange Mail client?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI found that even if I set Ovi maps to "offline", it still sends and receives packet data while the gps is in use. I started a route and after stopping it, I checked the "Log' and I can see more data send and received recorded. I do not have a data plan and would like to know if I am incurring charges in this case. I have a-gps and gps set, so I'm guessing these packets might be due to a-gps? Without a-gps and with gps alone the performance will be pretty bad, right? I have t-mobo and nokia 5230.
View 6 Replies View RelatedOn a fairly regular basis, once an hour approx, my N86 beeps and a message appears on the screen stating that a " data packet connection received". This also happens when I'm on a call and beeps in my ear. This is only a minor annoyance but an annoyance nevertheless. Any idea what this is and what I can do about it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia N97 and carrier service through AT&T. I subscribe to a monthly packet data plan which I have been using with my N97 for several months without issue. Several days ago my phone was no longer able to connect to the internet using my packet data connection. I was only unable to use the data connection with certain applications. The data connection would not work with the Ovi Store shortcut, Nokia Maps, the Nokia Web application, or the AP News widget. However, I was able to receive emails on Nokia Messaging through my data connection, and I was able to run my Fring application on it as well. I performed a hard reset which did not fix the problem.
I tried to adjust my network mode under the connectivity setting from Dual Mode to GSM, but that also did not have any effect. I then tried to run the setting wizard through phone setup to have it define my operator settings for internet, ect. After the wizard updated my settings I am now able to access the internet through the Nokia web application using my data connection. But maps and the ovi store still cannot connect using this connection.I have tried changing the connection settings under the maps application, but this has made no difference. Any help or advice would be very appreciated.
There seems to be a problem with the map upgrade. The data connection always goes on if I use the internet. Just browsing turns the data connection always on. I have been unable to find a fix for this. Unless I just reboot the phone or terminate the data link manually. There is no reason for this to happen. I am not running any program in the background that I can see that demands constant data connection. If it was, I would have disabled it long time ago.
But just browsing the internet seems to turn on the constant data connection. From what I can best tell. This started after I upgraded to the newest versions of map. It is my suspicion this has something to do with the new software that checks the location of the phone to gather information about local events. But I cannot find that program anywhere running to terminate it once it starts. But it is visible in the program add menu on where widget can be added to the home screen.
I updated firmware to 31. When I click on internet, window "Select connection:" pops up with "(no data)" in it. I have installed my configuration files from my provider again (for internet access) and there's no option to chose them. When I try to change access point to Uncategorised/Telenor WAP, it can't be done - the option "always ask" stucks there and can't be changed. When I try to access some web page, only blank page appears for few seconds and then I get returned on home screen...
Everything worked well before (successful) firmware upgrade.Control Panel/Settings/Connection/ - when i try to click on Wireless LAN i get "System Error"
Hi have a X6 and loaded ovi maps, worked fine when I had a 3G data connection. now when i dont have one the GPS seems to not work. DO I need a 3G or wifi for it to work or does it work as a stand alone without any data connection.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a 5800 on Virgin with a contract that says I only pay for the internet on days that I use it. However the phone is making 4 connections per hour on it's own so I am paying even when I don't surf. View 12 Replies View RelatedI would like to download podcasts onto my phone when at home (set time) and then listen to them later when away from a data connection. There seams to be a number of possible ways of doing this on the N97 and I don't know which is the correct way. I have only managed it successfully once. My main problem is finding where the file has been saved. I would like to download the BBC Chris Moyles weekly round up. There is an enhanced version (with pictures) which I have not managed to get working on my phone. Does anyone have that working on an N97? Can I download the radio show from iPlayer to my phone and play later?

I have the following annoyng problem with my new Nokia 5230. After I powerup the phone, in about 30 seconds it starts connecting to internet without having any application running. Even when I try to disconnect the opened connection, it reconnects back by itself in about 1-2 seconds.Could you advice me what should be done in order not to have this "automatic" data connection at startup?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just finished configuring the email client on E75 (this may or may not have relevance)(Fw:211.12.01). Since then an unknown data connection keeps coming up. No application is running, but there is an active connection, shown by the icon and by the connection manager. If I disconnect it from the manager, it comes back again in a couple of minutes. The data rate is 5-10 kB/hour, so no large data traffic is made.
However, I do not like at all that the phone initiates 3G connection without my permission, or without being able to figure out exactly what application is doing it. Automatic updates, mail check, agps, etc. are all set to off.) Has anyone experienced this? Is there any utility to find what exactly is using the data connection? I will try a backup, reset, restore, but this won't make me any satisfied with this product.
I have a N73, I have a mail account on Google. I created a mailbox in my phone, configured it with all settings. I enabled Automatic email retrieval and the interval time was 2 hrs. All worked fine. I got the notification in first run. I noticed that my packet data connection was active for whole day, in result phone battery was consumed too early.
I just want to know these two things:
1. Why the packet data connection is active all time? Cant it active only on the retrieval hours. Not in the idle position?
2. Why the email alert notifications has just stopped showing NEW EMAIL
I am just missing my important mails due to this problem of notification.
I have a issue with my Nokia 5800 XM.instead of resetting in to Factory default.I have hard reset the phone. After that my service provider (Dialog GSM Sri Lanka) send me the MMS,and GPRS settings. But I cannot connect. It says connection not available WEB: anable to perform operation and when I tried to connect the wifi it asked the wap key and wont connect but the wifi icon is displayed on the top and I need to restart the phone to get red of it. This was working fine before.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using the Lumia 710 for the whole day. I leave Wifi and Data connection on.
It's been connected to 2 wifi points at work and home and has only been connected to 3g twice, for 30 minutes each time. I haven't even been heavily accessing apps.
In that time my data allowance has fallen from 83mb to 56. I can't understand why this would be so high. 27mb used in a day when I've been connected to Wifi points for most of the day... When I have the same sim card (network: three) in my iPhone 4, the equivalent usage is on average less than <3mb when I haven't been actively using the phone
I personally don't think that I should have to turn off data connection because Nokia doesn't know how to prioritise wifi over my data connection. I have a limited allowance, and having to switch data connection on/off all the time is annoying, for something other phones get right.
If I'm connected to a Wifi point, my 3g data connection should NEVER be used...
