Mar 15, 2012I have the Nokia Lumia 710 (T-Mobile USA). and Today as i was on a filming set being an Assistant Director, i thought pictures would be nice to take and post on facebook for the whole crew to see.
I took about 30 pictures. i went back home and plugged in the phone to Zune. Zune says "Error reading files, disconnect and reconnect, if problem persists contact support" (do not remember the error accuratly as i am still upset but it means the same).
I disconnect/reconnect several times. with nothing. i tried changing dates on both computer and device, still nothing. untill i restarted the device.
this time it syncs fine, it just does NOT sync the NEW pictures and i can only see them on the phone. i delete all and only old pictures (from Zune) untill there was nothing left. now remember Zune does not see the new pictures so they were not selected (and yes i checked sync all in settings).I delete all pictures from Zune (all except new ones that are not even visible), to OPEN CAMERA ROLL ON THE PHONE AND NOT FIND ANY PICTURES LEFT!no USB mass storage (ohhh i can hack it with registry... really, microsoft????)no Arabic support (iOS has native support for all languages and it is NOT market dependent)
I would like to thank you for past Nokia phones and Symbian OS although buggy and updates were merely innovative.but, Microsoft have saved your a$$ from being thrown out of the smartphone market from lack of innovation (no matter how dodgy Android is, i kinda started liking it again after NOW). and Now for me to buy a Nokia device that loses data, ONLY controlled by Zune AND an OS as buggy as my dog **bleep**... that is something unbelievable.
i have left Apple's iOS for you guys, and the iPhone never ever gave me corrupt data messages or lost anything before, i only switched because i am loyal to Nokia and thought of it as an oppurtunity to get back on the Nokia wagon. Do you really want bad word of mouth?
this Mango release is so buggy and incomplete, i cannot even LOCK ORIENTATION, i CANNOT TETHER, so many software-based features are missing. So you compensated the lack of innovation with deeply integrated social networking.that is very good but the phone is unreliable and i am scared to use it again. Battery life is not that great, users are BEGGING for updates like beggers on the street, i would very much like Nokia to completly bankrupt right now. thats how i am upset.
I need someone from Nokia to contact me and show me how to restore those valuable pictures, or i demand compensation.

The camera doesn't work. I open the camera application with both methods (button on side and icon in apps) but it does the red dot thing in the corner for about 4-6 seconds then disappears and applications tells me the app is running. I try to go to the app but it wont go on it.
Problem 2:
The green key, dialler and contacts icon on the home screen do not work at all. I have no way of opening my dialler as there is no option for it.
I updated my firmware to v40.0.005 last week. Please be aware the problems were both there BEFORE i made the update and are still here after the update.Is there any way of doing this without soft/hard resetting. Also, does soft/hard reset mean you lose the data in an app (eg your high scores in a game like bagatelle)?

Apr 3, 2010I use N86 "Integrated GPS" as the only positioning method.N86 takes at least 2 min to locate satellite signals. In contrast, my Garmin GPS takes about 40 seconds.In the car, the N86 GPS does not appear very good because the connection with the satellite constantly drops. I suspect that the GPS receiver is weak. My Garmin is superior.The N86 GPS was tolerable until I upgraded my software version to 20.115. NOW, I GET NO CONNECTION AT ALL, even under clear open sky. The warning message "GPS works poorly indoors and in enclosed area" just exacerbates my frustration.Also, the GPS receiver can completely drain a fully charged battery in about one hour.Does anyone have a solution to my NO CONNECTION problem?

This headset works fine with a Blackberry so it is not the headset...
Why would I want to use the phone "microphone" when I have a dedicated mic in my headset?
Changing the default accessory from headset (which is what it is now) to Headphones (or any other option) does not work.

Feb 8, 2010Just got a nokia e72, its the first phone of this type that I have tried so I don't know if the following are supposed to happen or not.
1: Nokia messaging won't work it says I have to check the inbox manually (this isn't a massive problem a press of the message key and I am in the inbox folder - so 2 presses rather than one is no big deal). The problem is that the inbox in question keeps disconnecting (yes I do have signal) so doesn't tell me when I have new email.
2: Following on from 1 when I send an email it always asks me what type of connection I want to use yet I have set it to default 'WAP contract' so it shouldn't ask should it.
3: Web sites open very slowly, now I am not expecting laptop speeds here but my nokia 6300 opened pages quicker.
4: Is it normal that when you remove the sim card and then put it back in you have to do the whole phone set up thing, its getting very annoying as I use the sim in a couple of phones and you don't have to do this in any of the others.
5: It keeps stopping me from downloading things and when it does this asks me to contact the service administrator - **bleep**?!?!?. I am only downloading nokia apps.
The main reason I ask these questions is that I had a nokia e72 about a month ago and none of the above seemed to happen on it but I only had it for 2 days as the casing was cracked and I sent it back. This new one I only got last week.

Nov 12, 2011I have N8 and my phone is up-to date on everything. Lately somewhere after the latest Anna update my GPS wont connect anymore. I have tried various things to get the GPS working but without any results so far. Some things I tried to fix the problem: - I booted to factory settings and removed everything. - Went to settings and configured the GPS settings as suggested by Nokia's troubleshoot - Uninstalled/reinstalled Ovi maps While the ovi maps just gives me the text "waiting for GPS connection" when I go to main screen I can see the GPS icon and when I'll press it it states that GPS is available. Ovi maps wont get my location even after waiting for 20mins so I dont think that it just is slow.

Jul 12, 2010id like to know who has a nokia e66, performed the v.500 upgrade and has GPS that doesn't work anymore after doing the upgrade, am i the only one?? what did the new upgrade changed? how to fix this? i did all i could think of.. format memory card, reset phone, reinstall firmware etc etc. before upgrade it was working like a charm, getting signal fast and all. tried to enable and disable a-positioning, etc etc, resetted, removed battery etc etc.... and i upgraded the firmware with Nokia Ovi Suite for the note.. so the "good" stuff.

Jul 15, 2010I have tried the other day to change the phone security code from the standard 12345 to something else. However when I try to do that I get en "Code Error " on the phone. I would like to mention that the code was never changed and that this phone is brand new (less then 3 weeks old)I have tried in different way from the *#7780# and it asked me to put in the new code and I put 12345 and the I went to change it to something else I get the same "Code error".Also I have tried the *#7370# code which was supposed to reset it, however this failed also.
I know that with the BlackBerry you can rewrite the whole phone software, can the Ovi do the same thing?I have tried to call Nokia and ask for guidance, however they are saying that the CODE WAS CHANGED and that I have to remember the code, which is completly not true.
