Nokia :: N86 Software Update To V21.006 / BBC IPlayer Doesnt Work
Mar 20, 2010I installed the latest Nokia OS for my N86 yesterday, v 21.006. I now find that the BBC iPlayer doesn't work. I've uninstalled it and reinstalled, and downloaded fresh videos of Dr Who etc, etc.
But still I get the error message "unable to play either sound or video clip, Trying to play partially." And then all i get is the sound of Dr Who fighting the daleks. This all worked fine before I applied the update. I can still watch videos recorded using the camera, and via the France 24 application.
I will call Nokia Helpline, but am expecting to get told that this is due to a problem with the BBC iPlayer.

Jul 24, 2011I recently updated my n97 mini to latest update 30.00.004. after update lcd in split into half and the other half shows inverted display.the half screen that works keeps switching between portrait n landscape, diagonally.the second inverted half shows the last screen(as if from memory).recently i found that the camera is also not working.shows unexpected error occured. restart (something). () doesnot show up on screen.i went to nokia care. they said it is lcd problem after trying to reinstall update. i dont understand how can it be a lcd problem, when phone was perfectly ok before update. also lcd problem cannot connect with camera problem. i have previously installed updates n they installed perfectly. i have reinstalled the update repeatedly but no use. exactly same problem.

Apr 29, 2010I have a Nokia E71 which as I write is not responding to any of the keys. When I turn it on it boots up and then gets to the 'Set date' window, which I can't get past because it does not register me pressing 'OK'.
I think reinstalling the firmware will fix this, because before it stopped working it went through a phase of not working, and then working again, and then not.
The problem I have is that I can't select the 'PC Suite' on my phone when I plug it in because it won't let me press any keys. how I can get my computer to recognise that I have the phone connected, without having to select PC Suite on my phone?

The camera doesn't work. I open the camera application with both methods (button on side and icon in apps) but it does the red dot thing in the corner for about 4-6 seconds then disappears and applications tells me the app is running. I try to go to the app but it wont go on it.
Problem 2:
The green key, dialler and contacts icon on the home screen do not work at all. I have no way of opening my dialler as there is no option for it.
I updated my firmware to v40.0.005 last week. Please be aware the problems were both there BEFORE i made the update and are still here after the update.Is there any way of doing this without soft/hard resetting. Also, does soft/hard reset mean you lose the data in an app (eg your high scores in a game like bagatelle)?

Jun 6, 2012I connected my iphone to itunes this morning and itunes popped up that my phone needed a update, No biggy i thought lol. After the update my phone went to the start up mode, Where it asks you if your english and if you are in the uk, then it asks you to connect to wi-fi, "No probs" so ive asnered all its questions and connected to wi-fi and the it says "It may take up to three minutes to activate your phone". So i wait awhile, then it comes up with "Your iphone could not be ativated because the ativation server is temp unavailable, Try connecting to itunes to activate it, or try again in a few mins. if the problem persists contact apple support" So i connect to itunes and itunes comes up with " Your phone has no sim in, please disconnect and insert sim and then reconnect" my phone has the sim in, but i take it out and clean it and put it back in and it comes up with the same thing ?

When i plugged my blackberry into my PC it wanted to update the bundle/version of something on curve, everything was working fine until i updated this... (the bundle 6.0.2534 thing...) Now when I try to set up my e-mail it shows my 3 accounts i had linked with my blackberry a hotmail, a orange.blackberry, and a gmail) but when i type the password and click "verify" it shows "unable to continue session please log in again"I read online that it could be the version of email software I was running, so - i found the most current and i updated that, still; same problem. I've battery pulled, i've security wiped, i've done everything I can think of.

Apr 25, 2012After doing to ios 5 update on my iphone last night, all my apps came back, and my contacts, but I lost all of my photos and videos. No.....they are not on my synced computer...I already checked....they are gone. I think it was probably my error so I'm willing to take that loss even though it stinks. The problem now though is my photo app won't even work! I cannot open the photo app no matter what I do...it just closes automatically as soon as I touch it. I can still take a pic with the camera app, but then where is that photo going? I can't open the pics up through the photo app OR the camera roll either. They are just disappearing after this update and it's irritating!!

May 10, 2012Today I updated my Iphone 4 to 5.1.1, now it just goes to start screen (showing me the apple logo) then it goes black and it restarts to do the same.
If I take it off the power charge cable nothing happens, even if I press the two buttons together.
The phone has full batter power, it is only after this 5.1.1. update that something has happend.

I am confused since the it will work if the screen is on (which is the opposite before the update).Before I got the update, the notification LED works as it should.
