I updated the E63 firmware to the latest version (v410). But after that, the existing some of my previously installed JAVA apps are no longer showing in Installations (although they are shown as installed in App Manager). And the JAVA apps which are shown, cannot be launched.That is, I click on them but nothing happens. Also I cannot uninstall any JAVA apps and also cannot install any JAVA apps.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a couple of apps from Sony Ericsson's web site including a game that I used to play on my Sony Ericsson Z520a phone previoulsy, called "Quadrapop." It's a free Java application, and there was a version specific to the Satio, which is also an S60 5 edition phone, just like the 5800 which I am trying to install on.
When I try installing it, I get a message, "Certificate error" followed by something to the effect of, "contact supplier" I have been able to install some other Satio Java apps on my 5800, but not Quadrapop. Is there anything I can do do get around this issue?
In Settings->Phone->Phone Updates->Downl. phone software the firmware update fails to connect when GPRS connection is not available. The update cannot be performed using WIFI.The phone displays the confirmation message: "You are about to connect to the internet. ..." When I confirm this, it tries "Connecting to Nokia", but as there is "No network connection." it is unable to download anything. This occurs every time I try to use the feature.During the connection the phone displays the G icon denoting that it tries to connect using GPRS.

The bowling speedhas reduced too much(you canunderstand only if you have installed this game and play it). Besides I have the hd version of this game in sisformat. Even this does not workproperly. The app just exits itself when Iselect bowling.

I have tried to repair it from my XP (since in Mac Bridge I did not find the option for repair) and it failed again with the above error.

Normally, on my old nokia e55, the compass became yellow and after red and after my map follow the north. With this phone, press "5" do nothing. The compass stay white.Another problem I have, is that the GPS positioning will place my position on a road, even when I'm far away from any roads ( even 50 meters away ). As such, my location on the map is rarely accurate when I'm not on a road.Is supposed it is due to the new version of Nokia maps compared to my old e55. Version is v3.04 10wk32 b04.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI performed a firmware update on my Elm j10i2 phone. I am able to connect with a Wi-Fi and browse web pages with it, but i cannot use Wi-Fi anymore for e-mail or Java Me apps.
My settings are:
Internet settings: allow local connections
Streaming settings: allow local connections
Wi-Fi : connected with a favorite and high-priority network
If i look for IMAP4/SMTP connection settings, i get the "internet settings" menu, indicating 'allow local connections Yes', but you cannot save it (it says not available now, probably because it expects GSM/GPRS/3G data accounts)
If i check my e-mail, i get the message "you have to select an internet account now" - after confirmation, i get again the unsavable "internet settings" menu.
If i start a Java application (for example AccuWeather), it does not connect over Wi-Fi, and if i choose the app's options, and then "internet settings", i get again the unsavable "internet settings" menu, this time indicating 'allow local connections No'.
Did I miss some settings menu somewhere ? Or do you need to configure GSM/GPRS/3G data accounts to get it right?
It's pretty annoying because Wi-Fi was my main incentive to buy this phone.
How to ID or characterize what java apps will work in general?
Indications are that this phone is a b*****d not-Android-but-not-nonAndroid child. My emerging fear is that nothing will work on it unless I want to code it up myself.
To get my feet wet, I thought I'd try a calculator. I put the .jar file on the top-level dir of the uSD card and waxed optimistic as the phone's Java App mgr found and installed it. Then the calculator app took me through TWENTY different display layout arrangements without finding a single usable arrangement.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor a long time AT&T nee Cingular has locked me out of their MEdia (AT&T) Mall, and prevented me from running desirable apps by signing them with a "secret" certificate only available on their branded phones.Well, thanks to a2uploader and the recent acquisition of a locked AT&T phone I have been able to snag these Preferred and Trusted Java signing root certificates. As well as the entire AT&T customization package, which gives me a good template to play with my own if I so desire. (As an aside, I can also now download from the AT&T Mall using a Firefox add-on which allows me to spoof a particular supported phone's User-Agent string.)I digress. When I sent these certificates to my unlocked K850i it places them in the Trusted Cert store rather than the Java Cert store and the apps still have problems running and fail to install using the signed JAD. I have not tried it, but I assume my K790a will behave the same way.Now, the XML which defines the AT&T customizations references the certificates as well as the proper store location for them. Is this my only way to force a cert into the Java store? This also leads into how can I install client certificates?

After update all messages are erased and she had important information there. I read in trouble shooting, that:: What should I do if the automatic restore of my phones content doesnâ work after I did the update to Nokia Belle and I dont see my contacts, calendar, bookmarks, etc.?A: The backup of your phone content is stored under C:Users[username]DocumentsNokia SuiteBackups and includes "Nokia_Belle_Update" in the filename. If the automatic restore doesn't work, you can try to restore your contents manually by opening the "Tools menu" in Nokia Suite and selecting "Restore".
I installed Ovi Suite on Mac and downloaded extra support for C7, but I couldn't restore that information. She never installed Ovi Suite on her PC. My question is: is she installs Ovi Suite for PC on her laptop, will she be able to restore old messages? I recently switched to Belle as well on my Nokia N8, but I'm not that crazy about old messages, so I haven't noticed it. I checked on my phone using Files disk C, but there wasn't any folders with my username.
