IPhone :: 4S (5.1.1) Keeps Dropping The Data Connection?
May 21, 2012
This has been happening since 5.0.1 and each update they put out. I've tried all the reccomended fixes on the forums, and other places online, disableing the location services doens't help, airplane mode doesn't even help, I have to reboot the phone each time it happens. No web data, no email, no iMessages... what gives? never had issues on a jailbroken 3gs, but tried to get the new "improved" version and keep it legit.
i'm located in Malaysia and have been calling the network operator asking if they have data connection problem and they said NO. i have friends using the X10 with different network operator and experiencing the same thing..is this hardware or the upgrade?
Since Upgrading to 2.3.4 GB, my Atrix has consistantly dropped the Data portion of the Connection, the Wifi and Network Icons are Blue and showing H+ Icon. If I go from Desktop to Email, the Icons go gray and time elapses before they turn "Blue Again", If I try to access email, I get a warning, "No Data Connection or The Password to your ISP is not valid.
I purchased an Iphone 4S 3 weeks ago and it keeps dropping off wifi and using 3g whilst at home. No other iphones having problems and now have used excess data. Googled and was suggested changing the DNS to an open server?
Since yesterday morning now both wifi and 3g have been dropping like mad on my phone--the icon will just disappear and I will have no internet signal at all, and sometimes orange will completely drop out (which is normal because my house gets bad reception in some areas. Sometimes the circle appears and I can get a slow connection for a moment before everything completely drops. The phone is only 4 months old and hasn't been dropped at all. I've tried the drain battery option and the airplane also one, but nothing is working at all.
Our new iPhones keep dropping the home network connection. The signal icon is there and settings shows we're connected but we need to turn Wi-Fi off and on to re-establish a connection.
Honestly, how bad is reception in Manhattan? Dropped calls all the time? Slow data and internet connection? Text messages coming through hours after they were sent? I always hear about these issues. How true are they?
I recently bought a BB curve 8520, set up the wireless connection successfully, through my home network, or so I thought. But now about 70% of the time the wireless icon is grey and not connecting to the network, I could be sitting about 5 feet from the router and the icon will appear as available, in black and white, then change to grey for no apparent reason.
My new Lumia 950xl keeps dropping my wifi connection. I have numerous devices on the same wifi network, including an iPad and none of them have the same issues.
Having problem with Lollipop and the WiFi connection getting dropped. Last night I was browsing the web on my S4 and noticed that the WiFi connection kept dropping in an out! Rebooted and did a cache wipe! Seems to be ok now but will wait and see. Still not convinced I shouldn't just flash this thing back to 4.4.2
my galaxy s2 has stopped me looking at the media files on my phone though my PC. everytime i try to transfer a video or open the photos folder it just drops connection. ive tried it though kies too all latest updates installed. but as soon has i transfer a film or music it just drops, then reconnects asking me what i want to do.
There's neither letter G nor H in the white box on my screen and at times only G without the box. It started all of a sudden tonight. Someone said there might be something wrong with the transmission towers as there's wind outside.
I can be browsing the internet on my phone, i put the phone down for a while then when i try to go back on the net it wont work. I have to disable the wifi connection then reconnect for the phone to connect to the internet. This happens everytime i try to go on the net. Every other device in the house ie phones laptops etc works fine with no connection problems.
This phone (stock, non rooted) was working with BT fine under 5.01and Kit Kat before it for mostly calls. I know it is the phone because I have tested it now in three different cars, my 2014 Prius, a new Chrysler and Ford. It exhibits the same behavior. Pairing is not a problem. If the screen in on when I enter the car the connection is made. When the screen dims (sleeps) the connection drops shortly thereafter. If I swipe and get the screen back on I can manually re-connect through the car's radio. If I enter the car with the phone in my holster, likely asleep, it will not connect.
Keeping the screen from sleeping appears to "remedy" this issue but that is hardly an option in terms of battery life. Normally I keep the phone in a holster and never had this issue. I have tried every remedy on the Internet. I am using safe lock and have the radio as a trusted device. I have removed safe lock and the same issue ensues. I have unpaired, cleared cache, re-paired etc.
Last night I hooked up the phone to my Garmin Nuvi via BT. No disconnect issues.
I have the Xoom 2 WiFi 3g 32GB and it constantly drops my home network wifi connection.
It scans, sees the SSID, connects, authenticates the encryption, then drops the connection, only to scan and reconnect again in a constant cycle.Wireless router is a Netcomm NP800n on latest firmware. Tried both WPA and WPA2, tried the Xoom with a static IP and tried rebooting both devices.Xoom is on Honeycomb 3.2.2, system version 0.268.4.MZ616.AsiaRetail.en.03 and wifi disconnect policy is set to never.
My Curve 8520 has my home wireless connection but it doesn't hold the connection for more than a minute at a time. Is there anything I can do? It's fine when the little WiFi words light up in the top right of the screen, but then it goes grey and is disconnected.
Anyone having problems with bluetooth headsets dropping connections? I have a Motorola H17txt and Bose Series II, both will start cutting in and out, then completely drop the connection after about five minutes.
Last few days (even before 4.4.4 update) my m8 data would drop on and off. Restarted and no use. Same. Cell signal is full bars but data would drop after being on for several minutes. It would drop for 2 minutes or so. Toggling data on and off or airplane mode is a temporary fix sometimes. Over the course of this post it has dropped 2x.
Anyone else having this problem? Using the internet and the data just stops esponding. The only way to get it back is to turn airplane mode on then off. Also had my first reboot since before the update. I was using maps and the phone froze up tight while using the search function inside the app.
I have 2 new 9850s, both on US Cellular network, one is mine and the other one is my wife's. No enterprise, both BIS. They are both running OS 7.0 2048. I am having the same problem on both phones. Battery pulls do not fix the issue. Resending service books and pushing the HRT temporarily fixes it.Whenever we enter a spot that drops the data connection (the symbol in the top right changes from 3Gwith the 4 dot blackberry symbol, to just the 3G only SYMBOL) we stop receiving emails. This also happens if we are in an area that is 1X and changes to 1x. I understand why our emails stop, because the data service is unavailable. That's not my issue. My issue is this...when we do move back into an area that has data service, the data connection is not automatically restored. I have to manually go into each phone and push the host routing tables to reregister the devices to get them to receive data again.US Cellular said that they've done everything and that their end is working fine. We just changed from curves and never had a problem getting emails before. If I did lose the data signal, it would immediately reconnect when the data signal was available again. It seems like the Torch units simply stop looking for a data signal after a time of unavailability, like it looks for data and says "We'll guess i'm in an area with no data service. I'm going to just quit looking", but then never remembers to check again later. The wi-fi is off all the time.
It really sucks to have to register the phone over and over again after each trip into my warehouse, where there is no data service available. And its really strange that it is both phones.Apparently there are for signal modes on this phone...1x, 1X, 3G, and 3Gwith bb symbol. If mine drops from the 3G with bb symbol, emails just stop coming and I can no longer connect to email settings. Whats worse is that I have to push the HRT to get reconnected.Does anyone have any suggestions?i don't want to have to defect to an Android device, but this phone simply hasn't been reliable so far. I can't imagine it's US Cell network because our Curves have always worked fine. And I also can't imagine that i purchase 2 defective Torches. These has to be a setting somewhere that will force the phone to search for a data signal all the time and not just give up.
My brand new Galaxy S6, with the most up to date drivers, appears to randomly drop my data connection. After several restarts and updates to the OS, still seems to randomly occur. The error I receive is "No network connection. No signal found for mobile networks." My (very) old phone had a very strong signal in my area. Faulty device?
My iPhone 6 is about three weeks old and it keeps losing its data signal. I'm on AT&T and have good coverage throughout my area (never an issue with my 4s). The result is that when I'm off of wifi I periodically can't use Siri/internet/visual voicemail. It comes back if I completely restart my phone. This started happening a few days ago sporadically but I'm losing the data connection multiple times a day now. What's going on?
Does anyone have a weird issue of data dropping completely during the call? When I place a call the 3g icon disappears completely and nothing that requires data works until I hung up. Once I hang up the 3g service is restored pretty much instantly. Also the top of the phone where earpiece is gets very hot during the call. I called apple and they told me to come to the store and get a replacement. I just wanted to confirm if this problem is widespread as I will be getting the replacement from the same store. I guess it might be relevant - I am using a bumper case.
My girlfriend's phone (bought through vodafone rather than apple store) doesn't have this issue.
On another issue (or non-issue) I also noticed that my front camera is a lot less saturated that hers for some reason. When I place a facetime call and hold both phones together, the colors are very different . Hers is slightly over saturated and mine doesn't have any vibrancy to colors at all. Not sure what to make of it but there might be different sensors on iPhones (I remember reading somewhere that there is not enough production of 5mp sensors at any single factory)
After jailbreaking, among loosing FaceTime and MMS, I now notice that I lost my AT&T Cellular Data. I tried restarting and resetting my network settings. I can't restore because I am not home and I do not use my MacBook for backups/syncing my iPhone. Anyone else have this issue?
